At what point did Mick's vocals go from the classic era raspiness and smoothness, to the more nasal-like delivery? During the '73 European tour he starts to do a lot of, for lack of a better word, growling. This kind of carried over into the IORR and Black and Blue albums (just listen to If You Can't Rock Me). By the time you get to Tattoo You in '81, he's still recogniza

Was the black telecaster Keith used from around '75 - '82 a '72 Custom or a '74 Custom? I know it's a custom, but I've seen conflicting info about what the actual year is. Thanks

Look, Keith's playing of late just hasn't impressed me. A crisp solo? He plays the same solo pretty mcuh every song. I was watching the St. Louis show from '97 last night. Now THERE is when Keith is on fire.

Well, I know the songs on Beggars Banquet were pitch corrected after the 2002 remasters. Also, the version on The Singles Collection remaster is the single version, which sounds different than the album take.

I think the biggest head-scractcher is why the hell there should be ANY confusion on how to play Satisfaction at this point in their career Watch Ron and Keith's interaction from 0:33 to 0:50. Keith is clearly confused. It pains me to see him standing like there looking totally lost.

Guys, I've been wrong the whole time. Keith is playing awesome and the Stones are sounding better than ever. Need proof? Watch this: Much better than this hackjob of a version:

I hate when people start that crap about "This is the way the Stones are", "You don't know the Stones style then", "A bum not here, a bum note there". I know my shit about guitar playing, and I can confidently say that Keith Richards is no longer a good guitarist. He is totally on auto-pilot. Try to prove me wrong. I want to be proven wrong, but the fact is,

Mick is technically a better singer these days, but nothing compares to the Mick of the 60's and 70's when he could add that raspy yell to his singing at all the right moments (His smooth singing on Sway and then the screaming/yelling parts). The constant barking of '75 and '76 could get annoying at times, but when ever the yelling is placed right, it just sounds so organic. M

Songs for the Deaf is probably their overall strongest effort. Dave Grohl is my favorite drummer of all time and this is his lone appearance with QOTSA, so it's cool. Next I would go for Rated R. That's a fine album. The new
