There was a member who either was there or spoke to someone who was at their first show in San Antonio dieting their first visit to the States...they posted pictures of the band onstage and off...even got their autographs.

Saw it last night Took a few artistic liberties with a few things, but overall a good movie. The actors who played Brian May & John Duncan really looked like them...and Rami, Rami does such a good job at channeling Freddie, especially in the last third of the film that its almost eerie. Sidenote, Mike Myers steals the scene with his diatribe against Bohemian Rhapsody in favor of I’m

QuoteHairball I liked them quite a bit up until the Monster album in 1994, but it's their earlier albums that were truly the greatest - I still have the vinyl and cassettes! They're like a time capsule to me now, and have to say I never even realized they actually broke up! We are on the same wavelength.. I did get to see them in ‘94 or ‘95, it was a very good concert. Fable

QuoteOpenG They sure used risky lyrics back then - lets go down lowhand road sure rivals the lemon song. Misheard lyric? “I have a friend in town, he's heard your name We can go out driving on Slow Hand Row We could stay inside and play games, I don't know And you could have a change of heart”

Different strokes...it’s cool I’ve always loved Jazz...for me that is what holds a lot of the appeal of Steely Adan & Donald Fagen’s solo music

Quote24FPS QuoteDandelionPowderman «Steely Dan» will play The Nightfly? Interesting... A bit like Mick playing She's The Boss, billed as the Stones - without Keith Not really. People still like and respect The Nightfly. Count me amount them...I’ve enjoyed that album since it was released.

QuoteTravelinMan I love this song and don’t consider it filler at all. The same can’t be said for other stuff on the album like Short and Curlies and Dance Little Sister. Don’t get me wrong I like them, but those songs literally say nothing (the definition of filler). Also, they could have left off the cover tune and made it a B-Side, it contradicts the first song and that has always bothered me

Desert Trip, for the same reasons as Hairball...although the Stones played a decent set, they blew Dylan away...not exactly a high bar...especially the first weekend.

QuoteTheflyingDutchman I always liked Ron Wood's guitar solo on YCAGWYW, I think it's the best he ever played. Apart from that there's nothing new under the sun, imo. I had read that YCAGWYW from Love You Love was taped from a show in Paris, just before the show Keith was informed of a miscarriage and he played the evocative solo in YCAGWYW....I not saying this is correct, just

Loved it since it was released...picked it up the day it came out and it became the soundtrack of that summer for me. Went to the Texas Motor Speedyway show in the Fall. The show was more akin to a festival with Matchbox 20, Dave Mathews Band and the Smashing Pupkins on the bill..had gold lame confetti from the show in my truck until I traded it in a few years later. The album has a few fil

QuoteDeltics QuoteHis Majesty Quoterattler2004 This song, the Bittersweet Symphony, virtually disappeared as soon as the copyright infringement was filed. Not in UK, it was played, usually in ace remix form, in indie clubs etc etc a lot in 1997 and in to 1998. A huge song for me and my friends and just about anyone I know of similar age. I thought it was bloody wonderful. I thought so

Black and Blue...is largely unlistenable, but that’s my opinion. The top 4, well at least we can all agree on the albums that belong there. Some Girls Tattoo You Goats Head Soup It’s Only Rock & Roll Emotional Rescue Undercover A comprehensive list including the Live Albums, including the vault releases with the same thoughtfulness and less argumentative personal bias and taste

Quoteoldschool The Doors are one band even my wife and young daughters like listening to as they generally are not fans of some of my music. I highly recommend the following official live releases if you can find them and like live shows..... Live in Detroit 1970........... Jim is very mellow and dark in this concert but the performance is stellar. One of the best versions of "the End&

Quoteloog droog Quotekeefriffhard4life Quotenoughties A thought: Abba dominated the mid and late 70s. Then, when the decade came to a close, the time was right for The Doors. huh? the doors dominated the late 60's I think that's a reference to the Doors comeback when they were used on the Apocalypse Now! soundtrack in '79, and then when Morrison was on the cover of Rolling Ston

Paul Rothchild was quite simply incorrect in his assessment of the LA Woman release. He was also incorrect in his production of The Soft Parade. Odd that their worst album came in the middle of their recording career (with Morrison) Also I’ve read that Rothchild didn’t initially ‘get’ The Doors...it was by Botnick’s insisting that they were great that he finally came to understand their mus

QuoteRedhotcarpet Quotestonehearted Fun fact: Most of Strange Days consists of outtakes from the first album, that is, songs that were written around the same time. Demos of My Eyes Have Seen You and Moonlight Drive date back to 1965 -- in that same recording session (September 2, 1965 at World Pacific Jazz Studios in Los Angeles, CA), they also demoed 2 songs that would be on their third a

QuoteHairball Their first and last albums w/Morrison are my personal favorites. Some great tunes in between (along with some uneven stuff), but those two are the perfect bookends. QuoteKevinLocksPerm Bored with all this endless talk and speculation about a new album. They should take what they've got and mix it up with outtakes from Voodoo Lounge, Bridges to Babylon, 2002 sessions and A Bigger Bang and just release it as an album. Let's face it apart from a few people on here nobody would really notice or care. With all the filler on the albums you listed

QuoteHairball Fantastic album that came out when I was 16 yrs. old, and saw the original show twice at the L.A. Sports Arena, 1980 - it set the bar very high as far as all around concert experiences go. Wow, I would’ve loved to have seen one of those shows. I’ve seen a bootleg DVD of one of the London shows, must’ve been incredible to experience in person. I remember when the album came
