Just under three weeks to actually holding a new album of original Rolling Stones material. Time can be strange, ABB doesnt seem like 18 years but it is. A whole generation have popped up into adulthood since the last original album. My eldest nephew was one in 2005, he's now 19 and finished school! Incredible to think of how time has passed and just how much time since an original album

A track I skipped for years, came back to now and again, and have come to enjoy. It is not a great song perhaps, but it is s nice groove. Love the harmonica touches and the hypnotic riff.

I love it from first listening. 6pm yesterday, or just before; listened 7 or 8 times yesterday evening. A truly wonderful track. Can't wait for the album.

Welcome! It's funny how time passes; I was looking at my profile recently, and saw the date I joined - over 20 years ago!! Almost every day I check this forum for news/updates/discussions. I've been checking it almost each day for over two decades! We all have our own eccentricities; I love Satanic Majesties, but also have a fondness for the most maligned of albums, Dirty Work (mo

Have always loved the slinky groove of this track. SW was, along with Sticky Fingers, my first Stones records- given by a friend in 1993. SF, even on first listen, was wondrous. I was intrigued with SW in that they could still kick with power in 1989, at the time their most recent studio album. The opening trio had such rhythmic power, bass and drums cooking beneath cool guitar licks. A swagge

Great singwriter; as well as the CSN & Y material, I'm a huge fan of his time with the Hollies. Particularly '66-'68, wonderful stuff from 'For Certain Because', 'Evolution' & 'Butterfly'.

Really enjoy both. LIAGR still sounds good today. Angry though would get my vote - the song, particularly the second half, is just such Stones groove magic, it is irresistible. Many of my colleagues (non Stones fans, mostly casual music fans) have all heard it, the press event was on most every news channel and curiosity sent them to YouTube for the video. Reaction overwhelmingly positive. &q

QuoteDandelionPowderman Not sure if they'll release the 7 minute + song with Gaga and Wonder, but I'll take anything they have to offer while waiting (impatiently) on the album. Same; 6 weeks on one hand not too long, on another a seeming eternity Cannot wait to have it in my hands, reading the notes, the credits, earphones playing the album. October 20th cannot arrive soon enough.

Quotepeoplewitheyes I know 6 weeks is quite a while to wait for the new album, but I'm sure there will be another song released (although not necessarily in all these stupid physical formats) in the intervening period. My bet would be one with Gaga, Stevie or one of the guests on, in order to keep the profile high and further whet appetites for the album release. Releasing the track with M

QuoteLeonidP I personally think the new single is brilliant! I love the subtle guitar solo kicking in and then song buildup! I'm 7 or 8 listens in and love it too. Its immediate and hugely enjoyable. Love the guitars weaving from solo to finish. I think the Bonus Track on the Japanese Edition maybe would be 'Ghost Town' as opposed to a new original.

Quotegavin95 Song gets better as it really starts grooving at the midway point thru to the end. LOVING IT Here’s to a great album, so lucky to be a part of this as a fan!! From the piano/guitar solo mid point to the end is wonderful, yes!

Quotetreaclefingers The Stones have "roll", and I don't think Heavy Metal does, or if it does please list an example and I'll stand corrected. That's why that list seems quite off. It's Only Rock'n'Roll heavy metal? I don't remotely see that. That's basically it, as Keith said in 1997 when B2B was being released, "f** the rock, we wa

QuoteGasLightStreet Aside from Rough Justice, Rain Fall Down, It Won't Take Long, She Saw Me Coming, Dangerous Beauty, Biggest Mistake, Let Me Down Slow - just those alone make a fantastic album - short and hitting. Then... Laugh... is insanely awesome. Agreed; from first listening (likely this very day 18 years ago), until today, Laugh has a magic about it. Top shelf stuff.

One of my absolute favourites. Love the feel, melodies, and dreamy grooves of magic such as Winter, Can You Hear the Music, Coming Down Again, 100 Years Ago. Happy Birthday GHS!

QuoteVoodooLounge13 I’ve never understood all the love Under The Radar gets. For me Don’t Wanna Go Home is a much better track!!! See no two fans alike! Lol Under the Radar has such a great intro, guitars sound so Stonesy, so much promise, Child of the Moon reminiscent. A song I wanted to like, but it never quite takes off. Infamy was a skipper for ages, only recently came around to giving

I've always thought of ChiDem as an Axl solo record and have to say it is one I return to frequently. Some high quality material there and the band (term used loosely as any given track may have overdubs from different guitarists a decade apart) played it so well. There Was a Time, Catcher in the Rye, Better, This I Love, Madagascar, Street of Dreams, Prostitute, even IRS - ChiDem I rate hig

Quoteslewan QuoteVoodooLounge13 New single out - Perhaps. Not a fan. To me sounds like a Chinese Democracy leftover. Nice solo by Slash though. Guess the new album’s coming!!! Perhaps there's also a new song on the B-side of the physical release: That song on the B Side, The General, is one of the most famous unreleased tracks. Cannot wait to finally hear that one! Perhaps is ind

QuoteDandelionPowderman Looks great, but Mick has 1973 hair, for some reason. 1973 was first thing that popped into mind seeing the Mick statue. The pose very similar to a '73 European tour photo - fairly sure taken at one of the London shows.

Like many others have said, the passage of time is almost surreal. I remember following the Toronto show in the days after on IORR - pictures/setlist/video, to then waiting (im)patiently to get my hands on a bootleg VHS of the broadcast. Twenty bloody years! I hear that phrase, "Where did the time go?" - a bittersweet, nostalgic melancholy. I dont know where it went, but those were magi

QuoteRocky Dijon I love Mick. I love The Stones. Certainly he and the rest of the band were a popular force over the last 60 years. That said, using the United States (as one of the major markets) as an example, no Stones album has sold significantly more than 6 million copies. That pales in comparison to many other artists. What The Stones achieved was to maximize their potential in a popula

A song I could take or leave when first discovering the Stones, but a song I love now (along with the whole Black&Blue album - even Cherry Oh Baby). Fool to Cry - The vocals, the melody, something sublime about it. As mentioned above, sounded wonderful in '76 on stage.

Only got one upcoming, The Darkness, Dublin 3rd December. Justin Hawkins et al playing their classic debut album in full for its 20th Anniversary. As a live act they are supremely entertaining, and those catchy as heck songs make superb sense in the live arena. My daughter, only 9, is hoping to attend a rock concert, so if the Darkness announce a show down here (played Limerick 2015, 2017) we

Ordered physical copy, been listening on YouTube - such a wonderful collection. I hadn't heard the Fulham for years or any of Watts at Scott's previously, but had all of the other albums. Love the 'Tribute to Charlie Parker' material, live and From One Charlie;'Watts/Keltner' and 'Long Ago and Far Away' (my first solo Charlie purchase way back in 1996).

QuoteBig Al QuotePaddy Twinge of sadness seeing the Manics, I remember recording some of their Glastonbury set on VHS back in 1994, Richey was still alive. He’s almost 30 years gone and he could still be there. (Even though I don’t believe it could have went any other way either) What I find sad is that they were on the smaller stage; not only that, but second on the bill? I know their heyday w

I love Glasto, always lots of great music across multiple genres, wish they would show the headliners full sets. Maybe they do on the iplayer but more often than not you get a 30-40 mins maybe of headliner, then cut to another stage. Back to few more songs from headliner. We'll see, looking forward to GN'R and hoping for full set on BBC2 from 10pm. The Manics also, they played Isle o
