I actually thought Macca was really good, but, I didn't know at the time that parts of his show were taped, and they were. Beyond that it's just a matter of personal taste and a perception of reality to some degree. Most Beatles fanatics think Macca IS The Beatles, Macca himself thinks so too.

The show was great and The Stones are the last great representatives of the 'old guard' (rock 'n' roll). Therein lies the rub. My advice would be, "who gives a shit about newspapers and some poll on AOL, according to them (newpapers) you shouldn't be touring at all, so, rock on gentlemen, write your own history.

I too gave them an 'A' given the overall quality of the show. Stevie Wonder was great, (he didn't need the extra help he got). Aaron and Aretha were another story entirely, thank god Dr. John was there on keyboards. AND, thank god The Stones got the half-time slot.

Ronnie held up his end of the deal. You can nitpick with Keith's guitar work as well, but, when looked at from the 'whole' it was a great perfromance by all and that's what counts. The guitar's sounded 'nasty' and 'powerful, rock on Stones.
