...is it just me or does the bass&snare drum sounding more powerful? just listen to the bass drum on "all down the line" or the snare on "tumblin dice" - more reverb and a little dark, a bit like the 1974`s LP "it´s only rock´n´roll" drum sound.. what do u think?

toronto 2003 is as fast as the barcelona 1990 version - but better. bremen 1998 is more bluesy and slower, more like the rock´n´roll circus one.

sleep tonight- the verse has got interesting chord movements family, not that difficult - but for usual pop tunes something different loving cup - maybe the stones only 5/4 during the "gimme a little drink" part the lantern - great acustic figure major septim before the chorus starts

Quotealimente If memory serves me well, I remember a live version of Sympathy during the ABB tour with Chuck actually playing Nickys organ part at the start of the song. it was at the opening night of the bigger bang tour in boston 2005. no drum-samba-sample, real drums by charlie in the "ya-yas" style & chuck at the organ...real great!

what do you know & think about the man? where are the connections with the Stones (or other bands of the time)? did anyone of you met him or visited an exhibtion? is he enveloped in the "art direction" of the stones or music in general? (maybe a bit like andy warhol and velvet underground) what is his role in the "swinging london time"? did he ever illustrated an album

keith plays the solo on the studio-version. ...but live it is always played by mick taylor or later ronnie wood. this is maybe the only stones song where keith doesn´t play the guitar solo live, he played in the studio... what do u think? is there a live gig/tour/recording where keith played the guitar solo?

i didn´t know the great "all down the line" mix - more gospel & boogie woogie feeling (with the piano early in the mix) ..but i can´t hear a difference in the "tumblin dice" single-mix. maybe some one can tell me where is sth. different?

can anyone tell me on which songs the stones (billy preston, nicky hopkins, ian mcclagan) used one of these instruments? did they ever used a wurlitzer 200a? is it right that the clavinet can be heard on "heartbreaker", "100 years ago" and "fingerprint file"? is it a fender rhodes on "fool to cry"? thank you very much for your help!!

i think it was the only tour since 1981/82 where keith hardly or never touched an acustic guitar - even "wild horses" was played on electric. for me it was an electric & bluesy tour - for example songs like "jjf" weren´t played as fast as on licks or abb. charlie: best on abb mick: best on licks keith: the last time best on b2b ron: licks & europe abb 2007

the album include one of the best song they´ve done (in the 60´s) "backstreet girl", with the beautiful acordion melodys... "she smiled sweetly", great organ work...(could be a demo for procol harums "a whiter shade of pale", later in the same year)

Quotemarcovandereijk It Angel Girl is an amazingly well done pastiche of fragments from other stonessongs. I think a game could be made out of finding as much references to other songs as possible. Winter Memory Motel If you really want to be my friend Angie to name a few. Who hears more references? And yes, it would be interesting to find out who recorded it and what for. the beg
