Have just purchased their new 2-CD Anthology set an d am absolutely blown away. I was previously only aware of My Perfect Cousin and Teenage Kicks; the latter being John Peel's "favourite" track of all time. Jimmy, Jimmy is a new favourite. Any fans here?

QuoteNikolai QuoteSleepy City Oasis aren't even Oasis any more. A bit like just Mick & Keith recruiting new guys & calling themwelves The Rolling Stones. I disagree. If it's Noel and Liam it's Oasis. They are, were ands always will be Oasis. Of course, though Gem Archer and Andy Bell are far more prominent than their predecessors. They both write and are more involve

The skull ring is part of Keiths 'look', but I wouldn't personally wear one.

QuoteElmo Lewis Their "Crazy" (redone by Gnarles Barkley) was a big American hit. A few good ones (Judy Big Tits, etc.) where they get a Kinks vibe going. Lots of crap too though. Hard for this Yank to understand the singer. That may be a good thing. He's a posh, public school boy playing at being a rock star.

QuoteDeltics I've been a fan since the first few singles. Does anyone want their gig from the BBC Electric Proms? I thought the Electric Proms was an excellent performance. The only slight dissapointment imo, was how polisehed they sounded musically. I was also suprised by how much lead-guitar Gem Archer contributed. Noel has definitely stepped down on his his responsibilities as a guit

If ticket prices are reasonable and the venue not too big - then I'll go. Otherwise, can't be arsed.

QuoteSleepy City Of course this dates back to almost the beginning (check out 'Heart Of Stone' on Metamorphosis!). Yes, but that version wasn't a Rolling Stones recording. Imagine the controversy if it transpires that Jimmy Page was responsible for all of Keith’s solo's circa 64-66!

Definitely Maybe and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? should be in everyone’s collection: 10/10 for each. Subsequent releases are a little hit-and-miss. Be Here Now (7/10) Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants (5/10) Heathen Chemistry (6/10) Don’t Believe The Truth (8/10) Dig Out Your Soul (6.5/10) A special mention should also go the b-sides compilation, The Masterplan. 9/10. A superb r

Can't stand them. Debut album had a couple of memorable songs, but don't think the follow-up was paid a great deal of attention. Might be wrong there, though. Singers name is Luke Pritchard. Complete twat.

Quoteguitarbastard Izzy Stradlin (Guns n Roses) great songwriter (he wrote most of the great gnr songs) nice style and cool looks! I have often wondered about Stradlin's contribution to the GnR cannon. Was Slash the only soloist?

Ronnie Wood. I think people in general tend to forget what a fabulous guitarist he really is. He shines on Shine A Light. Ritchie Blackmore is a favourite of mine. Undoubtedly, he gets his cudos in certain circles, but he isn't mentioned nearly as often as he 'ought to be.

QuoteSleepy City Personally I feel that 13 is an acceptable lower age limit, as long as the individual feels ready (many people don't feel ready for sex at 16 or 18 & that's fine too). And there's a BIG difference between consensual intercourse & molestation. Bill & Mandy were clearly in love with eachother at the time. "I can see that you're thirte

'Farewell tours' are chessy and nearly always proove to be false. I would be dissapointed if the Stones were to ever go down such a road.

QuoteMathijs Remember when Wyman married a 13 year old? I have the same feeling about Wood and his new girl friend. Mathijs There is no comparison. Mandy Smith was 13 and this Russian girl is in her 20's. Ronnie is a fool, but no peadophile. Sorry Bill.

Keith was interviewed by the NME in '69 and told the journalist that - although he played their debut a lot at first - the "singers voice got on my nerves" The above is not the exact quote. The whole interview can be found in the NME Stones Special.

SAL is excellent if you view it in the context of when it was recorded. It doesn't compare to the brilliance of Ya Ya's, Brussels affair etc.
