I have this same Checker edition release. Still plays though it's beat to hell. I wonder if it's worth anything? Maybe a couple of Euros?

You're right, terrific sound and performance. 'You Better Move On' sounds at least as good as the studio version. Thumping bass on 'I Wanna Be Your Man.' Wow - very tight and powerful band.

Stones didn't play Washington DC/Maryland in '97??? 10/23/1997: Jack Kent Cooke stadium, a.k.a. Fedex Field. The false start is on the boot. Many of us experienced in person.

Debatable whether HTW was Keith's mistake. He played the intro (earlier than usual it's true), but Mick never started singing. So then they made eye contact to get re-synched, Keith played it again, and Mick came in properly.

'Love in Vain' from LivR Than You'll Ever Be, Oakland '69. Mick J: "Oh, got right carried away with it!" 'Dead Flowers' from London Roundhouse '70. MT pulled out all the stops - nearly one continuous solo after the second verse. Completely irresponsible and absolutely great.

Ten feet/3m away from Mick; he had an undersize black T-shirt on and was flexing his arms above his head. My thought was how extremely ripped his upper body was and how flat his stomach (this was 2007).

Thanks CrissCrossMind for posting! I was at Altamont and I can verify (as I and others did on some previous posts): JJF was indeed this slow and Keith was indeed this loud, at least in the beginning of the show. You could only hear Keith and Mick at first.

Blackmore always had great attack - really excellent pick action and sound; it's a legitimate and impressive trademark that can easily be noted on this clip. And of course, a great left hand. Tremendous player.

I saw Chuck Berry perform 'Ding-a-Ling' in Northern California in 1971 for sure. A packed basketball arena at Foothill Junior College. He positively tore the roof off. The audience cheered loudly and sang along on 'Ding-a-Ling.' And BTW, even better than 'Ding-a-Ling' that night: he played 'Reelin' and Rockin'', the standard great version, t

On the 'fuzz' guitar ending Brian's hands are at variance with the actual chord in at least two places. I don't know if that implies he's not the original studio guitarist or not ... maybe on Ed Sullivan he was just 'Stoned.' Great footage; agreed that Charlie looks just too cool.

71Tele: Turd on the Run: YES!!! Great, great record - underappreciated. But only Love in Vain from Ya Yas? I think Oakland '69 ('LivR' show) is stunning too. Mick T. 'got right carried away with it.'

"and possibly vocal tracks used to hide Mick's own loss of vocal ability." ... Huh? Mick's vocal range has increased, not diminished, over the years. His volume (and willingness and ability to scream it out) have increased, not declined. He's a more versatile singer than he was in the 1960's and '70's for sure (and I'm a '69 and '72 tou

When I stood 7-8 meters away from Keith at a concert that same year (late 2006) he played a forceful solo on 'Sympathy for the Devil'. He appeared to be using talcum powder or some other substance on the neck of his black Gibson at least for that number, presumably to reduce friction (I believe this has been talked about in IORR posts before). The rest of the concert he cranked out hi

Maybe not the best, but certainly the most amazing concert version of 'Live With Me' is on the famed boot 'Liv'R Than You'll Ever Be'. Somehow Keith got one beat behind the rest of the band coming out of the first chorus, and continued to play the trademark line - a beat behind - for nearly an entire verse. I figure it was either the drugs, or Keef experimenting wi
