Quotedrewmaster A lovely morsel of mind-candy that fits seamlessly into the trippy sonic tapestry of TSMR. I realize this stuff may not be everyone's cup of jasmine-scented tea, but hey, it's only psychedelia, and I like it. Drew Well said, Drew. The mix is strange, the horns out of key, but the song is inspired and inspiring. Also agree with those who say replacement of filler

According to a web site dedicated to the actual band behind the record, the lead vocalist appears to have been Allen Chance Silverman a.k.a. Allen Chance a.k.a. Al Silverman a.k.a. Slim Chance. And BTW, the band was closely connected to none other than the legendary Country Joe and the Fish.

Naysayers of Mick's performance are delusional and/or flat out ignorant about singing and dancing on stage. It's not a matter of opinion. He was in no way fatigued and, on the contrary, was clearly energetic and capable of doing much more. As noted by readers above, he opened with a high intensity number, immediately went to an approximately three-minute speech, then launched into an

You're absolutely right, His Majesty. It's really haunting and makes this great song even greater in my opinion. I've often wondered if it's so far down in the mix because the Stones/producer/engineer consciously desired the effect. If so, it's inspired. Early 'subliminal' country blues!

Was at the Cow Palace in '73 when Keith Moon collapsed twice, the second time never to return, and a guy came out of the audience to play drums for the rest of the show. An aborted, then resumed, then aborted, then resumed gig.

Didn't Bill Wyman break his hand from a fall off the back of a stage in the '70's, which caused him to miss some shows?

Detroit '69. Great rendition and crowd deeply into it despite never having heard the song before.

True nashville: in Honolulu in '66 they had Charlie introduce the next song, and he announced it would be 'Last Time,' and they had played that only two songs before! Brian Jones started laughing loudly and said it would be 'Lady Jane.'

Thanks so much More Hot Rocks. I believe a majority of the time we're just barely obscured because we're on the right; but I think now and then my wife can be seen raising her hands. Great stuff!

My wife and I drove up to NJ from DC (twice, per the cancellation) to see the show. Agree with all those who point out how surprisingly successful SOL was. Mick was in a frenzy and the crowd went absolutely crazy. Also agree with those who thought She Was Hot was great. It should additionally be pointed out that on SFTD Keith put some talcum powder (I assume that's what it was ... mayb

Raluca: I agree with you for the most part, but 'We Want The Stones' has to be one of the GREATEST 13-second-long releases in rock n' roll history!

Remember, Detroit was also on vinyl. I had two different copies of the LP at one point. In addition, at least one Boston concert was on vinyl, wasn't it? A great show, by the way.

Back when there was no Internet and no file uploading, I searched for years before finding a vinyl copy of the boot 'We Never Really Got It On 'Till Detroit' in a used record store. Fabulous concert. Keith's guitar on JJF is monstrous, and the audience is into it from the very first moment. They periodically break into cheers and clapping in time during the accoustic number

Good point HighwireC. For myself and the other 299,990 people in attendance who are pretty sure we DIDN'T get fed US Government acid, the concert was tremendous, bad (even tragic as we would later learn) moments notwithstanding. Then again, if I was a victim of secretly administered LSD, maybe I only THOUGHT (as did Mick, per his own statements during the show, by the way) that, notwit

Hell yeah, MadMax. I LOVE 'Hang Fire!' Great lyrics, catchy hook, inspired performance. Humorous and it rocks at the same time.
