I finally have a copy of Crosseyed Heart. I ordered it on vinyl back in September or October. It didn't arrive for store pickup until January and I didn't get around to picking it up until the beginning of this month (March). I finally got a chance to sit here and listen to it beyond a few pieces here and there, and the documentary. I'm stuck on Side A playing it on repeat. I

Dylan's right if you ask me. But we've been through this topic before I am sure and it always ends up where Darryl's defenders say 'well he played for Miles Davis" etc. in defense of any kind of defense of Bill, whom I prefer. His bass playing was the best for the band. It wasn't too polished and he was literally one of the boys and they had musical chemistry for a v

Quoteexilestones It sound like sanQ would enjoy the original LP, turntable and a high end AV Receiver, etc... There are many mixes of every album. People say for example, "I really love Paint It Black." I think to myself, which one? Which release with which mastering? Besides finding every release of an album or song, the more important issue is which mastering. Several different

Has anyone had the chance to listen to every release of this album? For instance, there was the original LP, a cd from 1999, another cd from 2002, the deluxe edition...etc. I can't seem to find a reference to an sacd. I originally bought this album on tape back in the 80's and I loved the sound of it even on that. The other day I bought a cd version from 2002. For the past 30 years,

I have to respectfully disagree with those who say that the music suffers because of Mick's contributions. There are a couple of great tracks off of Wandering Spirit which would have made classic Stones songs. I love Sweet Thing and Evening Gown off of that album. Those are classic, great Rolling Stones tracks that are underappreciated but would have been great on one of their albums.

Awww, I really want a cd version of this show. I know some people hate the out of tune guitars, but I love them! The first version of this show that I ever heard was on an old vinyl bootleg and it played slow but there was some real passion there especially in the slower songs like Love In Vain and No Expectations. They seemed sadder and I loved it. I dont mind the out of tune guitars, to me

Quoteliddas Absolutely love Sister Morphine. Outstanding work from the guitar section! C I agree. I think it's great. I can only listen to the sample unfortunately, but it sounds awesome. Ronnie did a great job on this one.

Did Mick ever sleep with Linda Ronstadt? She wasn't too shabby in the 70's.

QuoteRedhotcarpet I should have seen them with Taylor at Roskilde. F--k. listen to Taylor and listen to the interplay with Keith and Ronnie at 6.15 - . OMFG. They could pull it off again. Keith and Taylor. And Ronnie. Why the hell didnt they include him and rehearse a bunch of songs. Man, Mick Taylor was great here! So sad that this is no longer going to happen ever again. This is when

Quotenightskyman sanQ writes: "Jagger uses a backing track for vocals now...and Keith probably does too for his guitar, at least that's what I've read." You mean Keith doesn't play live, it's a backing track of his guitar? Would not that defeat the purpose of doing live concerts? lol But isn't that the industry standard these days?

QuoteSighunt IMHO, the last time the Stones played Jumpin' Jack Flash with any bite or balls has been since the Steel Wheels tour. No way. They played some fantastic versions of it at least up to 2006. When I saw them, it was awesome. It was bite and balls all the way.

I don't know why Mick Taylor would want to play with Jagger/Richards anyway besides money. He should just sue to get some royalties. Jagger uses a backing track for vocals now (compared the late 90's to 2006 and there's a sudden massive improvement) and Keith probably does too for his guitar, at least that's what I've read. Then Gene Simmons said they were using backing t

141. Re: Anita
I just gotta say, Anita's wild look of blond hair and brown eyes was ultra hot and my favorite look for a girl's face. She was so beautiful. I love that look in a woman, it's just pure sexiness. But, I think she was way too thin. Those kind of women though, just bring sorrow...unfortunately. Some things are too hot to touch.

To me, having Mick Taylor playing with them in the last few years, gave some legitimacy to their old tag as the World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band. Having a bonafide legendary virtuoso guitarist on stage meant they were still competing as they had that tool in their arsenal that no other bands have these days. He's one of the all time greats and no one can deny his musicianship. Tha

I wonder how hard it must be for them to continue performing? There has to be a lot of pain going on in their joints and backs, especially for Keith and Charlie. Charlie seems like he'd readily retire even though he seems physically strong still from swinging the sticks. But maybe I'm wrong. Keith seems like he could easily retire soon. Mick Jagger and Ronnie still have quite

First of all, thank you to bv for making this thread. I appreciate it. I requested a Mick Taylor thread or side board, then I realized after more reading that I should have talked to you directly. So I asked for my thread to be deleted which you did. Then you made this for us Taylor fans. Thanks so much! So I just want to say that I am disappointed that Mick Taylor won't be back for more

I coulda got one of my own the one day I forgot my credit card at home. Keith Richards.com was selling signed copies for a limited time that morning. And I had one in the basket, then realized I had no credit card. Worst day ever. I coulda had an autographed copy. Kicking myself for that day still.

Joan Jett the lesbian icon. It would be more appealing to me if she were into guys but since she's not, no thanks. Plus I never liked her music. It was too fake for me.

It's sad that life ends. I hope that eventually the footage he shot with Hendrix and the Stones backstage at Madison Square Garden gets put out.
