hm: according to nzentgraf.de, Run Rudolph Run is by Brodie & Marks. the only thing i know for sure about it is: every version Keith's done of this is a trip and a half, man. :E (edited to soothe!)

Stanley Booth gets it a *lot* righter than most people. his Keith bio does have a couple of glaring errors in it (most notably giving the title Beggars Banquet when he clearly meant Between the Buttons), but The True Adventures seems mighty spot-on. and besides the facts, as others have noted: Stanley *gets* it, and he knows how to convey it. he writes just like ringin a bell.

admit it, Baboon Bro - you just put that in there to see if anyone was paying attention, and because you were craving dialog. it's in the nature of Baboon Bros. :E

Keith's rendition takes this beautiful number to places it was craving to go. the name of the CD it's on is Weird Nightmare, and it's not out of print or anything - go for it, it's way cool.

Don't Lie to Me is a Chuck Berry number, Baboon Bro my dear ... whatever the Stones decide to open with will be fine with me, but if we're predicting rather than "requesting" Had It With You :E no no, i meant: I'm Alright

most listeners may not be able to analyze/discuss the mix the way Mathijs and some others can, but i don't think that means they aren't reacting to it. i sure am - i can't even imagine not responding to it. it's a purely animal reaction, just like to the beat.

heya Kent ... i think the "Arthur" is Ronnie joking about Keith referring to "missing the archipelago" - he's suggesting yet another wrong term to use. but (in a not-really related story!) once when Keith was asked about rock & roll being art, he said something like: "all i know about art is that it's short for Arthur."

>> Is Allen Klien involved in that? Must be. << isn't ABKCO involved with *any* releases that include anything from the Stones' early catalog? (including those "instand soundboard CDs" people keep wishing the Stones would offer at current gigs.) it must complicate everything hugely, and as long as their relations with ABKCO are less than friendly, it must also

>> true jungle music << ~*YEAH!*~ thank you John R - yeah it sure is! i love the early albums - how unearthly *good* this handful of skinny English cats is, and how they love this music! listen to the hormones and attitude they infused it with, listen to how fine and sure they are, and at such an outlandishly early age - smile, no wonder there's no stopping these cats.

LoFL - of course it's comedy, that's what made it such a great number to announce the tour with! but then, i'd been having recurring nightmares that they were gonna do just Had It With You and stalk off. :E

Barbuti, right now it sounds like the platinum memberships that people have now are for the whole world, not just north america. but they haven't really explained that. and yes, with one membership you can only buy tickets for one show. but you can get multiple memberships if you feel it's worth it.

well, i know a CD by that title. if it's the same track list as this vinyl you're looking at (or for), it's a compilation of assorted stuff from the late 70s/early 80s: early takes and rehearsals from Stones sessions, some tracks from the session Keith did in LA in 81 with Bobby Keys, the official version of Truly (which was on an Ian McLagan album), etc. the audio quality of the

smile to The Joker: how could the Stones be bored to see fans with light in their eyes turn up time after time?! as long as people are getting off on it, they're thrilled, i'm sure! my puzzlement is over the people who (judging from their posts, anyway) go so many times that they spoil their own appetites, as it were, start feeling cranky and complain as if the problem were with the s

>> That $100 only gets you to buy tickets to one venue << hm. maybe part of the idea is that - eek, i'm actually afraid to say this out in public! but maybe from the point of view of the performers, the phenomenon of people attending more than a couple of shows per tour isn't necessarily a dream come true. i experience a tiny-scale version of something like that in my

22978. Re: UK gigs
what they've said so far sounds like maybe the same "cut-off date" is going to apply for all the presales, not just the North American ones. they haven't stated that explicitly; but they also haven't said explicity that the "pre-presale" deal for pre-may-9thers only applies to North American gigs. they did extend the pre-may-9th memberships for an extra year,

as far as i know, the title is what Andrew & Vilhelm already said: D-Stone 81/82, or something a lot like that. it's a 2-DVD set. i got it from a friend (and my copy's flawed). if i had copying capability (and a good copy) i'd offer to share it, but i don't - i'm sorry. i'd seen the (beautiful) 82 stuff before; it's the quality of the 81 parts that su

it also appears that the prices of the "hot seats" vary from venue to venue. in chicago they were around $350 (maybe less), but other places had them for $450, right? (is that a stadium vs arena dichotomy?)
