Quotemosthigh He was sentenced in '79 and couldn't apply for a work visa or entry waiver until '84. He was given a suspended sentenced on October 24th 1978 and was required to return multiple times to see his probation officer and to play the CNIB shows. True that he may not have been likely to get a work permit - but the Stones had gotten around little issues like that befor

Quotemosthigh '81 Keith was banned from Canada entirely, due to his drug bust in '77. That would be news to the New Barbarians! Why would he be banned, after fulfilling all the conditions of his sentence?

127. Re: 25x5
Yes, Zappa's statement in Let It Bleed is beautiful and true :E and I agree that LIB is much closer to an update of 25x5 than Crossfire Hurricane is. If folks ask nicely in the "hot stuff" forum I bet someone wonderful will upload 25x5 and Let It Bleed

QuoteThe Worst. Actually, there is a Rolling Stone interview from 2010 where Keith says the following ... OK, that's one of a few versions of it that have appeared - and even in this one he's not saying the title phrase was the start to the whole number. They'd been up all night working on the music/verses and came up with the title phrase near dawn.

QuoteElmo Lewis And what about Keith's gardener, Jumpin' Jack? And that story That story is about the lyrics, Elmo dear. The riff is what Bill has at times claimed to have come up with.

QuoteDandelionPowderman It would have been interesting to hear why Bill accepted a) that he didn't get to play the piano on the recording b) that he didn't get to play the riff he created c) that he didn't get to play the bass at all on JJF. What he always leaves out of the story is that his "messing about on the piano" consisted of playing the Satisfaction riff more

NICOS sweetie, I hear different words in a couple of places: I'm gonna keep on dealing 'til I find myself a bet ... I'm dealing darling, bottom of the deck Seem like somebody gonna take my chit (as in a gambling marker) (although the Mick probably did sing "shit" just because he enjoys being a baddie :E) And: How do y'all understand the title phrase?

QuoteSwayed1967 And let’s all be honest: Altamont is so important to the Stones mythology that it’s almost heresy to wish that Meredith had lived. That there is a sincerely disgusting statement, and every clause in it is wrong.

Mick is very good at this kind of thing, and the band is great. Charlie is *so good* on this whole album that I am regularly rendered speechless. Signs & wonders! I love the Rolling Stones

Stoned is fantastic. There's less about the Stones in it than in 2Stoned, but it's a fascinating look at the London scene that nurtured the fledgling Stones. 2Stoned is much more jumbled (as ALO's life was at the time) but has wonderful fragments.

Well said Rocky. This is a particularly ineffective message, unfortunately, since it immediately summons to mind "Of course you're not afraid - you're a multimillionaire!" But as you say I reckon they mean well and also donate money.

QuoteLien Quotewith sssoul Quoterbk He interviewed Ronnie, Bobby Keys and Ian McLagen for the book. Mclagen the same day he died in Minneapolis. Puzzling: Did Ian McLagan die in Minneapolis? Not in Austin? Ian didn't show up for rehearsels in Minneapolis, friends found him at his home in Austin, where he had a stroke. Later , he died in the hospital in Austin . Thanks Lien dear. That
