I admire your version very much, hopkins. The version The Joker posted is just captions with basic facts about the lyric, with the B2B Stones performing. They are kind of distracting me from the captions.

Quoteangee with sssoul, thank you for letting me see that again. Mick as Keith is priceless! Reminds me some of Carla Rhodes' Keith puppet. You're welcome angee! I find Rhodes' Keith puppet dreadfully mean-spirited (and the Mick only a little less so) but that SNL piece is warm and charming. It's a language that twins speak! And "you ignorant slut" is

Wait - someone was paying attention?! All right, so I lost that bet :E Point/Counterpoint is the funniest of all of them, though.

Quotewith sssoul Quoteschillid Fallon's skit with Mick on SNL a few years ago was actually kinda funny I thought ... It was funny indeed, but it was Mick & Mike Myers. They did the Mick & Keith "Point/Counterpoint" too (you ignorant slut! :E ) I am of course cognizant that schillid was just checking to see if any of us was paying attention

Thanks, Koen! I quite like McKinnon. Even though a lot of her impersonations have barely any resemblance to the impersonee, they're usually appealing and/or funny anyway. In this case I have no way to judge the accuracy, which is fine too :E

Quoteschillid I think that not getting down low under the camera shot as he raced back and forth might have been on purpose ... (Letting the tv audience at home in on the gag that the studio audience was watching.) Now that's a concrete artistic insight - I'm sure you're right, schillid dear! The Liza Minelli was quite adequate. I didn't really get what the Diana Ross

I had no idea who that was doing the impersonation, but I sure as hell knew who was being impersonated right from the first glimpse - so something was right about it. Of course it was over-the-top ridiculous. Wasn't it supposed to be? I actively dislike Fallon, but having him as two Travoltas was cute even though the impersonations weren't very good. I especially enjoyed tha

I love the shots from that press conference and hotel. The Stones are from another planet. I know someone who was at the show. His uncle was a low-level bureaucrat and got two tickets and gave them to his son and nephew. To this day the man lights up radiant when he talks about it - it's lovely to see. Hail hail rock & roll! I love the Rolling Stones.

Quote35love Also, whenever there is a 'they are old' thread, SO ARE WE. This no doubt has a good deal to do with it: They're talking about teenagers but it's true in one's 20s too (a gradual decline, not a sudden drop) and where it says "fun" it's about intensity as well. Theirs and ours.

Those Ted Newman Jones guitars were most evident in '73. And Keith never really "ditched" Gibsons. The heavy Telecaster tours were '81-'82, But yeah: Check out the Ratbag Boogie Index:

QuoteRedhotcarpet It isnt Satisfaction backwards (that is Keiths excuse since he didnt write the riff) it is a riff played on organ and it's so good that Keith and Mick used it as basis for JJF. No need to Keithwash this. Piano, not organ, and I'm not "Keithwashing" anything. I am cognizant that the JJF riff is not Satisfaction backwards, but that doesn't mean it

QuoteDandelionPowderman – Jack, the gardener, was jumping about in Keith's garden that day to inspire them – They wrote the music – They came up with the title – Mick finished the lyrics – They recorded it the very next day, and Bill didn't get to play the riff he wrote, nor the bass track Yes, not in that order. More like: - Bill was fooling around on the piano (playing Sati
