Today I listened a lot to CCR stuff and I remembered that the Stones once also did a cover version of Screaming Jay Hawkins' "Suzie Q". This one and "I Put A Spell On You" would be great bluesy tunes in the theatre and b-stage-setlists. Imagine how perferct Mick would sound on them, especially "Suzie Q".

I just drank a few beer with a friend and we talked about music. He actually said that Coldplay!!!! is better than the Stones and that every of the 30 or so songs of them kills any Stones tune. Hey! Just compare their whole work to TWFNO or MM. He's just crazy, athough he knows nearly all the Stones' songs! Coldplay is so overrated these days, as Oasis is overrated.

I would have no problem with warhorses if they would play songs like Jumpin' Jack Flash or Brown Sugar in short, rough 3 minute-versions like in the days till 89 and not 10 minutes with horns, backup vocals and a incredible lack of guitars (esp.Miss You). They could even play a much longer setlist if they would not strech every song so long. Every song sounded better in the 70s. Just c

Today I bought Live Licks for my little brother and I have to say that it's not as bad as expected. CYHMK, WAY, YDHTMI, TNOY and SFM are really good. Worth to buy, I think. The only thing I worry about is the price (20 euros for 2 cds, I bought it together with Devils and Dust (12 euros for 1cd/ 1 dvd).
