I apologise if this has been discussed previously. Do you know what is the origin of this record? was it really intended for release? What a great music! many thanks

It is obvious that Keith deteriorated, and considerably, some sort of cognitive decline. Judging from the medical literature, a radical and lasting improvement is not likely. I do hope I am wrong.

Keith does not look good. His "solo" on sympathy last night was not good. The rest of the band seems wary. Something is wrong. It makes me really worried.

Channel 4 showed Start Me Up and Sympathy last night. Not a disaster, IMO, but it did not have the relaxed lightness of their usual form. Keith did not look good to me, both physically and musically. But definitely improvement from Werchter!

Clearly, Keith's performance has been declining for a while. The only question is whether the decline has accelerated. I hope that he simply had too much to drink this time.

IMO, Shezeboss has a point. Stones have always played "black" music, and you can hear it in every song. Beatles were amazing in creating great and intelligent "white" music. This can help explain the polls. But, as others already commented, there is no genuine blues in Beatles music, even when they try or when it formally looks like it. They didn't have the feel. Eve

I just rediscovered JJF with Aretha Franklin. It is probably the only cover of Stones which is as good as, or better than the original. Did Keith play on it?

o2 codes: you need to be o2 customer; o2 sends you a text message to which you need to reply and they send you back a code which can be used on the o2blueroom website to book a ticket (by 7am tomorrow) The best I was offered was block 108 and 106, lower tier, it seems quite far to me, especially for £150. As I already have two tickets for two other Stones concerts this summer, I did not buy it

I just tried to get tickets with the o2 promotion code; the best I could get is block BK. Lesson: the o2 promotion is useless.

Well written, Beelyboy! Totally agree. He is one of the GENUINE roots of the music we all love. His influence on the Stones and many others is clear and huge. Who cares about his private life? He is 76 and is in incredible form, the London show was stunning, the blues solos were fantastic, and if was a lot of fun. It is difficult to imagine that he might have been even better in the past. "Crazy mama" by JJ Cale (he actually did not play the slide himself) - the best slide I have ever heard.

I saw him about 6 times in total since 1990. In general, he is going downhill . I saw him last in Oxford in 2005, and it was a very painful and sad experience. He was forgetting the songs and licks and was really unable to play for more than about 10 seconds without major mistakes. At the end, I found myself praying for him to stop and to avoid further humiliation. Very embarrasing. My friends

Stones are black music and U2 is white music. The choice is yours.

If only Clapton would not spoil the joy of listening to JJ... not sure if JJ really needed this.

Over the last 16 years, when I could see them live, Keith has been gradually going down. It is not his hands. It is his brain. I hope I am wrong but I suspect that it will get worse, potentially much worse, in not too distant future. Another reason to see the Stones now.
