Keith was on fire - realy dug into Bitch. Ronnies solos during Rambler were probably the best I've heard. And what more can we say about Mick? He's really giving it his all - truly singing the tunes even the old horses like they still mean something- which of course they do! And it was loud as it should be!

Based on everything I've seen and read up to this point regarding forecasts, etc.: This was the right call made at exactly the right time - God bless the Stones and their management - stay safe everyone and enjoy the real crossfire hurricane on Monday! YCAGWYW!

Well done - deeper and more artistic than Bohemian R. Good message about the life changing power of sobriety without being preachy.. and you can't help love the early Elton hits.

Honestly IMO, Vodoo Lounge was their last stellar album and I love the production. But that might have been their last work with Don Was so maybe band agreed with you?

Quoteab It's fairly routine heart surgery. His docs are top shelf. He's in excellent shape for 75. I'm assuming it'll all be fine until I hear otherwise. But I'd put the tour on hold for a year. Summer's too hot, fall's too cold. Reschedule for next year's Jazzfest. Having been through 3 open heart surgeries I can tell you there`s nothing routine a

This is a shocker coming so close to start of tour - something must have been discovered during the pre-tour physical. Hope to God it's nothing serious - it doesn't sound like it is - but they probably wouldn't disclose it if it were... Godspeed, Mick, for full and complete recovery!

Saw them late lasr year in a theater in New Jersey. BUTLER IS IN GREAT SHAPE and as mentioned hes a stellar front man. The guitar player in their touring band looks like an early 70's Keith.

Well karma finally caught up with Klein - he had several heart attacks and Alzheimers ruled the last 5 years of his life - he died at age 77.

Saw the Pretenders play a solo show a few months ago in NJ. Met Martin Chambers - really nice guy. Love their new cd and Chrissie's book, which she signed for me after the show. She is a rock and roll treasure and still has that sass and wit onstage. Keep on rollin!

I agree this band is definitely worth seeing if you like the Dead. I've caught 2 shows and would go again in a heart beat. Mayer is exceeding everyone's expectations and adding a boost of testosterone to the vibe. Magical time for us heads and different sets every night unlike you know who...

saw these guys last night in Philly, 2nd in time in a year (Forrest Hills, NYC, prior show), and I'm glad to report that rock and roll is alive and well. I'm just amazed that I missed these guys when they were initally popular - it' great to discover them now and enjoy probably the finest shows they've ever performed given their (relative) sobriety. really like reading the comments people! Instead of going to Pittsburgh, I'll be seeing Van Morrison with Taj Mahal in NYC the night before. Of course I would see the Stones if they were playing in the area, but just had to justify to myself why it wasn't worth the 5 hour drive +$1,000 expense to go to Pitt..

ok, not completely - if they were playing in the NYC area, I would probably see them again, but this ride started for me in 1978 (JFK, Philly), and may just be over... my top reasons for not seeing them this go around (besides the 5 hour drive to Pittsburgh or Buffalo): - saw them twice on GRR / 50th tour (Brooklyn, Philly) - same old song and dance - there's only 2 maybe 3 songs that are

Loved that Rocks Off! Much better version than what they were doing about 10 years ago when Mick was staying away from the higher registers. A real treat for those who were there!

Not to set this thread adrift, but it's such a cool rush to see Little Steven hangin with Keith. We just saw Bruce last Sat. Night in CT US and Steven lit up the stage. I don't want to bore those who already know, but he's written some Classic rock tunes... I Don't Wanna Go Home for Southside Johnny probably the most recognized. Anyway, hope he makes it to tomorrow's sh

QuoteRollingFreak I'm 21 years old and my dad is a die hard Lou Reed fan. Like, the one that has every album on CD and has seen him many many times live. The amount of times I've heard his stories through the years: from the time he saw him live before or right when his debut album came out and he was playing colleges and just playing Velvet Underground songs, to when he claims Lou &quo

QuoteBowieStone The Black Crowes played 3 Stones songs last night. Was a great show last night. Long time since I've seen the Crowes and was really impressed - they are very tight, jammy, happy, hippy, cool. No complaints about 3 Stones songs, and their version of JJF really rocks! btw, Maceo Parker + band as warm-up really cooked! Soul singin' funk!

Philly 1 was pretty damn good, also! Mick seemed extra inspired by the crowd and was into being in Philly - the mayor declared it Rolling Stones week and gave them a little liberty bell that was onstage for both nights, I think. One of the highlights was Brad Paisley on Dead Flowers - great guitar playing inspired Ronnie to take it up a notch, too.

I was there both nights, and, compared to all the other great music that was played, I completely understand them dropping Sweet Lil RnRoller. Highlights for me were John Mayer & Keith Urban "Don't Let me Down" / acoustic Allman Bros on 2nd night / and Clapton's closing set where he just wailed... In comparison, Jeff Beck's set was dissapointing.

QuoteSilver Dagger Quoteloog droog QuoteSilver Dagger [I'm sure Patti Smith will be very upset as they were an item in the mid 70s. They were indeed. In addition, Lanier co-wrote and played on "Elegie," the last song on Horses, while Smith wrote lyrics for some BOC songs like "Career of Evil" from Secret Treaties. And she wrote lyrics for Vera Gemini on Agents Of For

not to get too analytical, to me the show could be broken into 5 distinct parts: 1) intro celebration: first 4 songs no surprises from a setlist standpoint, but I was pleasantly surprised by Mick's vocal inflections and Gimme Shelter was probably the best I've ever seen thanks to Lisa - who is giving it more than her all.. Mick also seemed to be very energized by the crowd, maybe mo
