Tonight I'm not the DJ between gigs.
I was wondering what Stones song I won't play. I can only play none ofcourse, and that's a really hard decision.
Any suggestions? Forum: Tell Me
Yes, Time Out of Mind is a must have. So is the follow up: love & theft.
I've been listening the last couple of days to:
Al Green - Let's Stay Together
Rolling Stones - Place Pigalle
Stevie Wonder - Hotter Than July
Prince - Dirty Mind
AC/DC - Stiff Upper Lip
Rolling Stones - Englands Newest Hitmakers Forum: Tell Me
Beggars Banquet, my favorite album.
And I wasn't even born when it came out... so the album is not only appreciated because they went back to their roots (because I wasn't around, so I can't really care about that). Also because of the enire mood of the album and the terrific songwriting and performance on the album.
How can an album be overrated if all the songs can be ranked Forum: Tell Me
Jimmy is one of Ron Woods best friends.
When Jimmy is playing a big match at the World Championship or Masters, Ronnie is sometimes in the audience. Forum: Tell Me
Is there anyone watching the match O'Sullivan-Ebdon?
Ebdon always was the snookerplayer I hated the most, but after tonight he becomes not only my most hated snookerplayer, but the person I hate the most.
5 minutes for a break of 12! Ronnie O'Sullivan made a 147 in 5 minutes a couple of years ago. I can't watch that - ofcourse O'Sullivan gets irritated. I would have kick Forum: Tell Me
A lot of Jagger written songs are mentioned.
Don't stop, Saint of Me, Evening Gown.
IMHO Keith hasn't written a decent tune since Voodoo Lounge. Jagger might have written some 'light weight stuff', but he's responsible for some of their best songs of the 90s.
I don't like it when Keith is doing these jazzy, emotional songs... I don't even think they're Forum: Tell Me

Glad to hear that. Forum: Tell Me
I've been listening a lot the their 80s output lately and she's so sold is one of my favorites.
The guitarlick is also much fun to play. Forum: Tell Me
Tumbling Dice is one of the best grooves... ever!
But I can live with a setlist that don't have it on it.
They have to do their classics... this is one... maybe not as popular as Satisfaction, but it's the most famous one from Exile.
I understand why they still play it... and to me... they still perform it well. Forum: Tell Me
I think for most europeans... The Eagles = Hotel California. Period.
I never hear them on the radio, I never read news about them.
Their greatest hits album sold about 28 million copies in the US and the worldwide sales of that album are about 35 million, I guess.
Now, Thriller sold 27 million in the US and 59 million worldwide. I guess that shows that The Eagles have mostly an American audi Forum: Tell Me
I saw Fogerty a month ago. Excellent show.
I guess Mellencamp is something only Amercians will like and the obvious exceptions. He was never that big in Europe. Forum: Tell Me

One can be fan of both. But I can understand that you just don't like The Beatles (or The Stones).
But you must respect them both.
I love both, but The Stones are #1. Forum: Tell Me
I saw him two nights in a row the last time he toured and the two shows were identical.
So I was a bit disappointed after the second show... but after the first show I was knocked off my feet. Brilliant show. Fantastic band, great setlist (although I would have loved to hear Penny Lane & Get Back).
You can say what you want about him, but without him popmusic would have sounded entirely Forum: Tell Me
Just one album?
Ram, Band on The Run, Tug of War, Flaming Pie, Run Devil Run, Flowers in the Dirt, Red Rose Speedway, McCartney, McCartney II
all great McCartney (& Wings) albums. Forum: Tell Me
No, it's also not ok if you're 25.
But it makes it more pathetic to see someone of Taylors age. It's like they throw their life away and still wanna be the person they were when they were young.
I don't know if he has a drinking problem. I only know he was drunk the night I saw him.
About Jagger: I find him very intresting. I think he has the greatest personality of al Forum: Tell Me
Mick Taylor is in his 50s and seeing an 'old' (sorry lads, 50+ is not old) artist drunk on stage is pathetic.
That's why I'm a huge Jagger fan. Most people laugh with him that he's doing all these fitness things and keeping in shape and that's why he can deliver the goods every night... I admire that. He doesn't have the attitude to act like a rock and roll sta Forum: Tell Me
Mick Taylor in Belgium... Mick Taylor thinks: Belgium = Kriek Bellevue.
This means ==> he will be drunk. Guaranteed!
The last time he was here he couldn't even find the input of his guitar. A normal Gibson Les Paul Standard (if I remember well) probably his property for over 30 years. Forum: Tell Me
According to The Sun Wood is in an Irish clinic after he started drinking at his wife JO's 50th birthday party.
His spokesman says, "Ronnie has gone to get some rest, chill out and get himself in top shape before the forthcoming Rolling Stones tour which kicks off later this year (05).
It seems it's impossible for him to stay sober. Poor Ronnie. Forum: Tell Me

I just have an own opinion. It's not because everybody thinks he's the best... that I have the same opinion. No heresy at all. Forum: Tell Me
No, I can accept that your favorite stones era is 63-66.
But it's a bit silly for you to not understand why most fans prefer 68-72. I think you do understand.
Surely your a stonesfan. I was talking 'bout the definitive stonessound. To me that is especially 68-72. Forum: Tell Me
