Faces tour would be interesting, I guess, but it wouldn't affect the Stones in any way. I'd love MT to be back in the picture somehow, but there seems to be no interest in that from the Stones.

Heard about this this morning on NPR. Don't care for ACDC much, but I just think making your album exclusively sold at WM is the ultimate sell-out, the ultimate show of how $ rules. Sad.

I usually respect the opinions on this board, because I am a big Stones fan and I like to read what other Stones fans have to say... But your Springsteen bashing exposes complete lunacy. If you don't like him, ok fine... but the "bag of sh--" comment along with the "sucks plain and simple" just demonstrates your incapability of ever discovering anything beyond your tiny,

Nope. It's not even worth responding to! Here's a guy who has released, since 1995, ten or eleven cds at least, a few of them live, a couple archives, and a heap of new music. He's done dark, mellow albums, big-sounding rock albums, and even old-timey albums, all within the last four years of his career. He's brilliant, as a songwriter, a performer, guitar player. He

I know the gas on the east coast of the USA is not as expensive as it is out west and especially in Europe, but boy do I feel it in my 50 min. commute (1 hour 40 min. round trip). I drive a Toyota Matrix and get about 35 mpg, and I feel how spending $44 to fill my tank hurts. I can't imagine spending twice that if I had an SUV, or even more if I lived elsewhere. Next year I'll be wor

Before this thread gets the boot, I can say: Have a little faith, kahoosier, w/ gas prices at $4 now, Americans are buying smaller cars, environmentalism is suddenly not so "radical" anymore, and many "liberal" ideas seem much more ideal nowadays, and Obama is a major anti-greed man. Of course, his safety is crucial, but he and his supporters know that. There will always

God, there could be dozens of excellent films about the Stones, with all the crazy sh!# they've gone through. That film about Brian a couple years back is the tip of the iceberg. One could come out every year, like the Harry Potter movies, or the Star Wars trilogies. You could have a trilogy for each decade. With any luck, there will be a decent film or two about the Stones someday.

Thanks for the answers! I always thought it was a pretty cool set, would love to see it again, and not on YouTube!

Was the Stones' 1978 SNL appearance in the fall or spring of that year? I noticed at Borders today there is a 77-78 season SNL dvd set, but it did not list the Stones as one of the musical guests that season... Was it in that season, or the 78-79 season that the Stones appeared? Kudos to anyone who answers this.

Yeah, I think pretty much anyone on any continent can name a LZ tune or three... I think LZ would draw huge crowds. I heard the Police tour was a big success, making loads of $$. I think the LZ tour would be taxing on the band, and grating for Plant. Another expensive nostalgia act that really doesn't need to happen.

Just looked this up. Since its inception in the late 70's, Whitesnake has gone through eight guitar players, six bass players, six drummers and nine keyboardists. The band has only one original member, which is of course Coverdale. It must say something about the guy, considering 29 bandmembers have quit. Spinal Tap comes to mind...

Sounds fishyfishyfishy. The Whitesnake thing would be flat out AWFUL. Plant is in the middle of his tour w/ A.K., and I doubt he'd suddenly change his tune at this point, after denying for months. The "I'm expecting a call from Jimmy any day..." quote sounds like a joke/ fantasy to me, like when Dave Grohl was dreaming about playing drums with LZ.

Fantastic. YGTS is infinitely better here than on SAL. I saw this show in Boston, and loved it when Keith sang YGTS. I have a decent version from this tour lying around here somewhere... Thanks for posting, Helter. Some Girls is also great. The guitars sound terrific!

I've got a 48 minute commute to the school I teach at in Union, Maine. Just long enough for a good listen along the way. Right now in the car cd player: Pat Metheny Trio, Live from 2000. Some killer drums on that by Bill Stewart. Yesterday I enjoyed a complete listen to the Very Best of Mick Jagger on the way to and from the University of Southern Maine, where I earn my Master's th

I think it's yet another piece of Keith's shirt. A little, red, rectangular piece. Slipped off his spine and onto the spine of the cd.

It's different on mine too. It appears to be the tail of Keith's shirt. I think the shirt is cropped on mine, whereas the pic above includes shadow. Odd.

I also totally agree with Mathijs' take on the technique issue. Very well put. But still, he's in the band now, like it or not. I say put his photo on the next album cover alongside the rest.

I agree with yap. I love Fleetwood Mac, and did not care much at all for the recent album (Say You Will) they did without her. Her absence was painfully obvious.

I think the one-off idea is just that, and that's why they've said they'll MAYBE do another show here and there. I'm sure it's fun for them, but it's not like the Cream reunion, where everybody is still capable of playing and singing the material. This is LZ, Jimmy isn't as swift as he used to be, JB is not with us, and RP's voice is very different. LZ f

Yeah, I always wondered how much Darryl actually enjoys playing with/ for the Stones, as he is a Miles vet and is used to playing much more complex material. But still, the whole "four Rolling Stones" concept never sat well with me. There were five Stones in 1964, five in 1974, five in 1984 (if any at all!), and then suddenly there were only four in 1994...But wait, there's still

Keith will tour with the Spice Girls before he lets the Stones crumble at this stage. These interchanges are so perennial, just typical jabs.

I watched a couple of those boot DVDs, and there definitely were a bunch of big cameras zooming about, so it was pro shot. It's conceivable there could be a pro boot out there somewhere, but I agree it is unlikely. I am of the opinion Plant secretly is not happy with the performance, even though Page and Jones said otherwise, and does not want it released, so I imagine the footage is v

Darryl is great, one of the best in the business. It's really too bad he is just portrayed as a side musician... He replaced Bill, for godsake, get him in the photos with M,K,C and R. The Stones are a 5 pc. unit... The bass player is as essential as the rest. He's barely in the SAL film at all! It's as if he's not even on stage much of the time. Ridiculous.

Bowie did a terrific version of Let's Spend The Night Together on Aladdin Sane... I think Keith just says these things off the cuff. Mick and Bowie were good friends, maybe that's it. Keith's jealous! Nice pic, though!
