Let him speechify. He's always speechified. Speechifying has always been part of a U2 show. There's always plenty of great music to be heard alongside the talk. "Am I buggin' you? Don't mean to bug ya... Ok Edge, play the blues!" (Bono on stage, from Rattle and Hum, show recorded 1987)

What was the turnout? Was the show sold out? Was the audience enthusiastic? How did the crowd respond to the lesser known tunes, etc.? Very curious.

I think The Rolling Stones get to write whatever songs they feel like writing at this point in time.

VL is the last album where we hear M+K singing harmonies together (Sweethearts Together, Baby Break It Down, The Worst). It is a 15 song album that, imho, should have been an 8 or 9 song album, but the heart of this record is good. I just wish they didn't give up on singing together. M+K harmonies are magical, part of the Stones magic for me.

David Byrne on Tuesday 9/11 Pat Metheny on 10/3 Bonnie 'Prince' Billy on 10/14 Lindsey Buckingham on 12/8 Unusual for me to splurge on so many shows, though DByrne was the only pricey ticket. He's a hero of mine. Can't wait for all these.

Keith Jarrett's son, Gabriel, is an absolutely brilliant drummer. Haven't seen him in years, but man, one of the greatest I've witnessed-- not just technically great, but a very musical drummer and just flawless.

So now they simply must convene with Dhani and Zak.

Thanks for that link. I really enjoyed that smartly expressed perspective. What are some of the most annoying things Rolling Stones fans say?

I would love an official release of the wonderful version of 'You Got The Silver' with Mick on vocals. There is also a great acoustic early version of All Down The Line that might be Beggars era material. There's great stuff in that particular vault anyway.

Yeah, I was really hoping for a CH tour too.

Abbey Road is brilliant on many levels. It is an album that is in no way formulaic, in no way predictable, in no way a "poor man's" anything. Great compositions, great singing... But I think the most important thing is: It sounds good. It sounds REALLY good.

Being a big fan of the 5 pc. Lindsey Buckingham FM lineup, I'm still kind of stunned by this whole thing. But then seeing all the different lineups over the years (though the article from ultimateclassicrock was frustratingly inept), I have to respect that if the band has creative energy and wants to proceed without Lindsey for whatever reason, so be it, and who knows... maybe they will prod

I've said it before... All I really hope for in a new Stones record is a M+K harmony here and there. I love their voices together, and they just don't sing together much anymore. Not sure why. But that would make me happy. A new record that was simply about making music together, not trying to be relevant, not trying to sound like '78 or '72. Just make us some lovely musi

It was a pure joy to write and record this project. I'd set aside a day to work, and 8 hours would fly by and suddenly I'd realize I hadn't eaten anything all day, had missed phone calls, neglected the dog, etc. I think what got me to the finish line was having a theme for these songs. It was a true project, as opposed to a collection of random songs. That is how I'll do t

Hi all... I finished and released a record just recently under the band name 'The Moaning Sallys,' and as a lifelong massive Rolling Stones fan I dare say you may recognize their influence in spots... I am not concerned with sales, just interested in sharing my music, so feel free to search it up on Spotify or iTunes where you can listen without buying. The name of the record is The W

They're all kinda strange. Tattoo You with its lovely but unusual ballad side, Dirty Work in that it is mostly awful, ABB with its weird maxed-out compressed sound, Steel Wheels sounds like it was recorded in an elevator shaft, E.R. has that vocal-buried-in-the-mix punk sound that I LOVE (!!)... I could go on. Every record has a surprise.

Zak, Dhani, James and... Sean or Julian? I vote Sean. Same age group, I think? I don't know that all the intense genes transferred to the offspring, though... It might not be all that special.

They are in their mid-seventies as well. Gotta keep loose, refresh the mind, warm up vocal chords, etc. I'm about to turn 46 and playing my drums for more than an hour leaves my back aching, never mind standing upright with a telecaster around my neck. I sing three songs in a row and I start to go hoarse. While I understand the desire to see a fresh, unique set every tour, there is just

Using 'Start Me Up' to sell a new release MUST mean a compilation, and not anything really new. But... There will be something new, sometime. I'm patient.

I just don't think there are enough casual fans of F.M. these days. Casual fans alone can't be relied upon to buy pricey tickets to any show for any band. You need the enthusiastic true fan base to dig into their pockets for a nostalgic act like this. Yeah, Finn and Campbell are professional. But they are not Lindsey Buckingham, and that will severely diminish interest in an upcomin

If there was an interesting new album... Something to tour off of, I'd be more willing to justify it. As Jah said, LB is just too prominent a figure in the band, and with Christine McVie returning, and Stevie not participating in the McVie/Buckingham album, having LB out of the picture is a bit of an insult to fans who just want a complete band. I saw the tour in '14 with Christine, a

I'll be very curious to see how they market this tour with this line-up. Cheaper tix? Smaller venues? Both? Secondary/Tertiary markets? If they are not willing to make that kind of adjustment, I would not be surprised if a tour gets cancelled/ postponed and we see a return of Lindsey for their "Grit Our Teeth And Bear Each Other One More Time Tour" in 2019.

M+K harmonies are super rare in recent years, in studio recordings and on stage. I don't understand this AT ALL. They harmonize so beautifully together. If I were one of the lucky producers (lol... those poor guys), I'd insist on M+K vocal harmonies all over the place.

I loved Greendale album and tour-- The encore was maybe the loudest concert experience I've ever had (was in the 4th row or so). They just stood in a small circle facing each other and blasted through a handful of old CH songs and my ears just bloody hurt from that for a long time afterward. I passed on the new record due to that one really bad song NY released earlier in the year. I'

A lot of speculation above based on one photo with Mick Jagger in a studio. Band members-- in a lot of bands-- often do work in the studio without other band members around, and we know the Stones record all over the place, so any news is good news as far as I see it. They've been in the studio together, they may be again, and who knows how much is complete and whether or not finishing tou
