VL is the last album where we hear M+K singing harmonies together (Sweethearts Together, Baby Break It Down, The Worst). It is a 15 song album that, imho, should have been an 8 or 9 song album, but the heart of this record is good. I just wish they didn't give up on singing together. M+K harmonies are magical, part of the Stones magic for me.

Tattoo You with its lovely but unusual ballad side, Dirty Work in that it is mostly awful, ABB with its weird maxed-out compressed sound, Steel Wheels sounds like it was recorded in an elevator shaft, E.R. has that vocal-buried-in-the-mix punk sound that I LOVE (!!)...
