This is my band! You'll definitely hear Stones influences in there, among many others. Cheers! Tate

On their current IG story, be if the animated clips includes a barely audible snippet of something new… Super fun. I’m so excited about this album, whatever it ends up sounding like. I feel like I did when I was a kid, when a new Stones album was due soon. Nostalgic joy.

That was fascinating. I can imagine similar conversations exist about each one of those three by others, behind their backs. It's funny how the conversation ends. Dylan says, out of the blue, "I'm gonna split." Ha. Bob Dylan is a quirky guy. In fact, he's the king of all quirky guys. As the legend goes, that "rehearsal" proved irrelevant when Dylan hit the stage

It looks to me like the sound is not synced to the video, which makes it look like a bad lip-sync, but I highly doubt RW lip-syncs at his expensive live shows.

I do find it silly to worry about the output of a band that has literally been around for over 60 years. Near octogenarians. I'll be delighted at any new material, or 30 second clip of guitar noodling in the studio. And I'll be thrilled about a new album, even if I don't love all the songs. Hopefully this new material will see the light of day sometime soon. But, you know, whenever

I love Led Zeppelin, always have... I think they are every bit as brilliant as the Beatles and the Stones, and I enjoyed all of their live material I've ever been able to get my hands on.

Hey 9 monthly listeners! Not bad. Three albums. The Stones are in my bones, so there's a heavy influence at times, at others, not so much.

Looks like Steve Jordan is jamming out with Pino Palladino as part of John Mayer's trio. So he's good. Maybe it's Chuck L?

I just realized this is the new album thread and not the tour thread... but still. After the next album, if they are able to tour from it, I will love any new songs they can crank out, but would accept whatever they have to offer. :^)

Ha. Scrolling up through these comments is interesting. The Stones are pushing 80, so they get to play absolutely whatever they want. They could play Satisfaction three times in the same set if they want to. They could play nothing past 1978 if they want to. They could do all Muddy Waters covers if they want to. They have license to play anything in their massive catalog, whether or not they have

April 6th, 7th and 8th: Wilco... in Reykjavik! So. Excited. (I live in Maine.) Then Andrew Bird (April), Heartless Bastards (May), Plant+Krauss (July), and a couple of mellower shows: Zakir Hussein/ Bela Fleck/ Edger Meyer (May) and then Bill Frisell trio (June). I've never had so many great shows lined up. It's all very exciting!

I just sold my Boston tickets via the Ticketmaster site. I love Bruce, have seen his excellent arena show before, but felt the need to sell my tickets for a couple reasons, but mostly buyer's remorse. Here's my brief story about the evils of TM. So I was able to score my Loge level very good seats to the Boston show through the verified fan lottery. A good friend and bandmate of mine

Always interesting to read others' opinions. Re: Love You Live... I absolutely LOVE this album to death, always have, its loose, very different live renditions, and the expanded edition was an absolute dream a number of years back. Looking ahead to the next release... I just hope for some fun music that is not overproduced or contrived, just an album of music that all the musicians en

I love Bruce. Over the years, his shows have been SO fan oriented, and tickets reasonably priced, that I was pretty shocked to see how expensive tickets were when I got them for the upcoming Boston show. The verified fan thing got me in, but then left me with only expensive options, and when I bought my two lower level tickets, I noticed the upper level tickets were rapidly increasing in price by

Quotetreaclefingers Quotebam QuoteHairball Sounds like elevator music, but maybe that's what they were going for? Something you might here at dentists office, or at a grocery store...bland and harmless background music. The power — of a tremendously powerful song - is gone. To me, it’s just a fading echo of what was once great. Perhaps unintentionally, an analogy of the band itself?

That version of 'Pride' is certainly different, but I certainly wouldn't call it "suicide," or "embarrassing." A band can do anything they want with its songs. In my mind, this version is much less anthemic, obviously more intimate. The high harmony on the chorus sounds like it came from the original 1984 recording... Bono has shown he can still hit those notes

RE: Lindsey Buckingham's tribute I love Lindsey Buckingham, but his ego comes through in this half-hearted tribute. Nothing about how amazing her songs were, or how amazing she was as an artist. It's all about "she and I" and "our body of work," etc. There was nothing untrue in what he wrote, but it comes off sounding a little too self promoting and not enough Chr

It's the best of the last 5 albums, imho. I think VL is maybe equally good... but DW, SW and ABB are far behind, I think. I still occasionally listen to each of these, though!

EC and Steve Nieve did a handful of shows back in the 90s that resulted in a limited ed. live boxed set that is fabulous. Watching the Detectives with just elec. guitar and piano is divine. The songs from the excellent All This Useless Beauty album (his most recent at the time) are also fabulous. Those NYC sets will be superb.

Antonio Sanchez in October, Portsmouth, NH-- brilliant drummer, should be a joy. Wilco in Raykjavik in April, all 3 shows. Never done anything like that before. Never been to Iceland. So excited.

I LOVE the 'Presence' album. I love the raw vocals, the very few overdubs, the guitar sound, the punk/prog sound (It's the ONLY punkish/prog rock crossover album ever made, imho), the intricate and exceptionally tight rhythms. Like 'Undercover' for the Stones, I think it's LZ's smartest and most underrated album. I have a lot of love for both Presence and Underc

I agree with all of the above comments... Robert Plant is brilliant these days. And has been for quite some time. His body of solo work is excellent and diverse.

I remember hoping George, Paul, and Ringo would play with, say, Elvis Costello or someone. Elvis did All You Need Is Love, which teased my fantasy a bit. I also hoped the Stones would play! I remember the MTV folks kept saying, "All the members of the Stones are reportedly present in Philly!" I was most excited about Led Zeppelin... which was a sloppy performance all around. Agreed on t

Amps may impact the way a band sounds on stage, but the way the album sounds is largely dependent upon post production. Mixing and mastering can make a fat show sound thin and a thin show sound fat! And that doesn't even take overdubs into consideration.

I love Charlie. Loved his style-- his early playing and his late, "lazy" styles and habits, were always perfect for me. BUT... SJ is CRUSHING it. He is tight. He is solid. He's perfect.

Shattered, 1978 live. Four outrageous bashes on the crash cymbal. Nothing like it. Just launches the song into a different realm.

I agree, best live performance ever of that song. Gave me a new respect for the Foo Fighters, who I never cared for much. They nailed it, tricky rhythm and all. Stones just generally blast through it Chuck Berry style, but the Fighters crushed it, gave it superb energy, lifted Mick off his damn feet and Mick sang his heart out. It was so good to see that energy again. Legendary performance.
