You can always read statistics the way you want. But you can't "find out where the true fans live" in this statistics 'cause the ticket-buyers arent registrered by the country they live in. But I understand what you mean.

I have to tell a fantastic number about show visitors. Swedish rockgroup Gyllene Tider (featuring Per Gessle) toured Sweden summer 2004 and 500.000 visited their shows. The population in Sweden is 9.000.000 citizens... Unbreakable?

Best thing for all must be avoid material from albums after The Final Cut. Except for the new one if they go in to the studio again.

Baboon Bro, what I wrote was that Tull was prog rock, Floyd not REAL prog rock. What I meant was that Floyd’s music isn’t that overworked and doesn’t has that much of wall of sound than the others. Floyd is in fact pretty simple music which makes it not that dated like many other. That’s why I, for instance, prefer Genesis’ Selling England By The Pound and The Lamb Lies Down… before Wind % Wut

This board suddenly seems to be glutted of prog rock fans. Well I was one too back in the 70's. Genesis, Yes, Jethro Tull, ELP, Gentle Giant... But the ones that have survive best are they that weren't REAL prog rock: Pink Floyd, Camel, King Crimson, Frank Zappa to mention some Gong did some great stuff, too. Does anyone remember that Mick Taylor worked with them on some album?

Yes, bassplayer. "You Really Got Me" is often mentioned as the first hard rock song. (The year before Get Off Of My Cloud)

I like his playing at SMU, too. But I have always wondered if Charlie's beginning on that song is a mistake. Is it?

Apropos of earlier post ”The Greatest Drummer”, who is your favourite drummer (beside Charlie) of all time? I know it’s hard to compare drummers from for instance the 50’s to today’s. For me the way BÍLL BRUFORD played drums in the 70´s (King Crimson, Yes, solo-stuff) is no 1. Your faves?

I'll remember Mathijs earlier has written he likes Hendrix' phrasing but is not impressed of his way playing solos. Right?

OK, Mathijs, you don't have to wait any longer for the question: Who's number one?

Paradiso, Amsterdam May 26th 1995. Officially released at the Wild Horses-single. The best IMO. And there are no overdubs. The same version is filmed as the as stated in earlier post. On DVD you can see it (maybe among many others) on DVD 94-97.

Actually, I have neved liked it. WAY is a good song but not because of the falcetto-singing. Emotional Rescue, for instance, is not good in any way. I don't like the falcetto and I don't like the song. The falcetto on Mercy Mercy doesn't disturbe me. Mick is my absolute fave singer. And the way I want Mick to sing is when he is pretty low mixed and have to get through the loud

Sad to hear, R. I haven't listen to him the latest decades but liked him a lot in the beginning of the 70's. His first soloalbums are good, especially the dreamlike double one Manassas (where Bill Wyman is guesting and is one of the composers to one song).

OK, Wuudy. I'm booking four single beds in your home. With breakfast. Three days before the show till two days after. Do we have to bring sheets and towels?

Today’s medium works different than in the 70’s. A tour premiere is a premiere wherever it is. And the premiere is covered by all the dragons even in Boston. If they want to do stadium shows in northern US maybe they can’t wait longer. Or when is the summer supposed to end in these areas?

What about All Down The Line? Still fresh, not played too often, most people (even hard-core fans) recognize it.

Sympathy for the Devil! One of their gems but IMO it should need some rest. Maybe a comeback the 2009-2010 tour? We have also maybe heard to much of Tumbling Dice and YCAGWYW. And I hope they skip You Got Me Rockin this time. But I would not be withour HTW, SMU and BS. They're all classics and musts and works terrific live.

I agree in most what been said. But I think we have to wait until the studio-version before we call the new song...well, not good. Think about how sloppy and thin the first versions of Tumbling Dice and Start Me Up sounded. And how strong och powerful the album-versions are.
