Quoteblakeeik Thanks. I think it no longer makes sense to make a video and convert it to DVD rather than keep it in its least unprocessed form (mp4 or MKV). Encoding it to DVD does not improve the quality. I’m sure DVD die-hards will disagree, but I cannot remember the last time I burned a DVD (or CD, for that matter). well i agree that it worth posting an uncompressed video file as well as

25x5 is the the better documentary for me any career retrospective documentary that leaves out the flatbed truck performance from 1975 isn't worth seeing

Quotetreaclefingers I have good memories of this as well. I'd have to watch them in sequence to see if it's the best. Stones in Exile was good, though limited. Charlie Is My Darling is awesome. Gimme Shelter of course. I think Crossfire Hurricane ends around the Steel Wheels Tour if memory serves so the timeline with 25x5 is a good match for comparison. They really need to d

didn't they have the background singers from the opening band onstage with them (along with bernard and sasha) for several shows over the last 2 tours i remember liking the way it sounded with the extra singers maybe they could take both chanel and sasha but yes chanel gets the solo on gimme shelter also i hope ronnie sings more backing vocals onstage like he did on angry at th

Quoteautomaticchanger You could get about an hour on the tapes, so combination tape/battery reasons, yes. The Portapak Altamont footage was shot by Ira Schneider, an early video artist from NY - no affiliation with the official Maysles footage or any of the other film sources. thanks

Quoteautomaticchanger Yes, Sony Portapak video cameras were available, which used 1/2" open reel black and white videotape. This is what was used for the Detroit video, as well as the LA forum footage and Ira Schneider's amateur Altamont recordings. Unfortunately the low resolution of the image was significant enough to be banned by networks, which led to the development of public acces

i have all three and i prefer the cbs one (i generally do with all of there albums) because it sounds closest to the vinyl to me however the virgin version is cleaner and maybe a bit more detailed to my ears but it loses something from the cbs version that i think is important to the this album a gritty, murky, rawness that the original vinyl release had to it the universal is awful and

QuoteMathijs QuoteNashvilleBlues QuoteMathijs QuoteSighunt Just as a follow-up to this conversation, I received an e-mail from former IORR poster, Tim aka Plexi who saw this thread and clarified to me that Doug Potash (Stones Doug), founder and head of Shidoobee, told Plexi per his conversation with Albert Maysles that ALL MSG shows were filmed in their entirety. Doug was the one who organized

Quotednewton99 We really lucked out that an IT guy was also a dedicated fan at the right time to build this. The magic stars aligned. I see people suggesting charging subscription fee or selling ads on the future site. You might consider a one time donation fundraising like Gofundme to build an account that could pay for the service for a number of years to bank that and maybe need for one ti

Quoteschwonek QuoteProfessorWolf will i still be able to access iorr with windows 95 like i can now? Depends not so much on your OS but on the browser you use. Since you can read this, you managed to get your browser read https. So I would say you are fine. (Except Win95 opens your PC up to a ton of viruses since the OS hasnt been updated since 2001) i don't use win95 for everyday browsi

Quotewerther2003 Quoteimthemastah Here's the whole video. Hoping that ProfessorWolf and/or BlueTurns2Grey can work with it to fix aspect ratio and otherwise clean up audio and video. I'm not intending to re-upload because what I posted is a working copy so that there's eventually a better version that's shareable more broadly. (Plus, there are people out there with

QuoteSighunt Boy, when i see this, how I would love to acquire a complete professionally shot 69 show of the Stones at the Garden before I leave this world. Such a shame that what's left over from what the Maysles filmed is just sitting in a vault somewhere gathering dust... if only there was a petition to get it released

Quoteimthemastah QuoteProfessorWolf don't suppose you have some back story on the reason this video was made was it just someone's home movie or part of an attempted documentary or tv segment? It's very poorly shot - the audio is unintelligible and the visual is often dark, and it is mostly tedious handheld footage where nothing is going on. I don't know what the ultim
