I am surprised by this story. Eric was already asked about taking the seat of Mick Taylor and he answered that he turned the idea down because he needed to be the boss of the band. The other point to think about is that he was then managed by Robert Stigwood (RSO) before Roger Forrester took over. Not sure they would have agreed Eric to join the Stones... QuoteRockman the stones started out as a derelict blues band playing chicago blues. Derelict blues band .... Hey yeah thats a good line sundevil .... The Beatles knew the Stones were good. And they were at least different enough to get along with the Beatles.

They are taking the best out of the Get Back sessions but hey that is a lot of work for just 5 good songs or so. Compared to how fast Abbey Road was recorded, the Get Back project was mainly a musical fail.

My opinion is that Eric Clapton's racism is not deeply attached to the color of the skin but had the "Britain invaded by foreigners" feels. Nathan East is not an emigrate but an american born citizen and problably originated from slave ancestry. Different history. I visited it in the early 2000's. It was still owned by Bill then, and burgers were good (albeit expensive but this is London!). My main problem was music being a bit too loud to my ears so avoided it after a couple of time

There are at least two vinyl factories in the UK, Vinyl Presents and The Vinyl Factory. But I assume that brexit won't change anything.

Quotetommycharles QuoteStoneageYes, I think so Dandy. I have heard so too. What I was referring to was that Jagger most probably was the architect behind the 1989/90 tours new music arrangements. Not Chuck or Matt. Given they were mostly copied from the arrangements from his solo tour, that would make sense. It sounded obvious to me when I first heard Deep Down Under And especially on that

I don't agree about Matt Clifford's synthesised harmonica sound "ruining" Miss You.

QuoteErik_Snow I can't understand the obsess with Lisa Fisher's "Gimme Shelter". There are far better female-vocalists out there for that track. The studio version by Clayton is one. I would not compare the studio and the live. Merry Clayton performance is outstanding but imho Lisa Fisher is doing good live on it.

I don't understand all that fuss. Musically it's Ok. The band is playing good. Lisa is doing her stuff. It's a pro recording. I don't care much about the rest.

Quotejbwelda >Hope it's universal. Unlike DVDs, I believe blu-rays are universal in their format. Someone will correct me if i am wrong, I am sure. jb Nope, there are also regional code restriction for BluRay : A B and C. BUT this is not mandatory. And Steel Wheels Live is certified all region playable.

The 1989 Steel Wheels tour remind me a bit of the 1988 Jagger south east tour whereas 1994 sounded less synth driven. Actually the synth sound of the eighties has very badly aged.

QuoteHairball Quoteds1984 QuoteHairball Not sure how many Pink Floyd fans prefer the lame and confirmed to be re-released Delicate Sound of Thunder over an Animals Deluxe set, but my guess is probably zero. Then you would be surprised. Speaking for myself I would be delighted that Animals could see the light in 5.1 format but since it is not Andy Jackson doing the job I have serious doubt

Quotebuttons67 i got right into early floyd last year, still dont dig the later stuff as much, and to me a pink floyd without roger isnt quite the same, the pre dark side of the moon era is classic floyd, so underrated, ive started collecting the records and cd,s, hope to get the early years, the later years eventually and all the live stuff, including the immersion editions of some of the middl

It was the Stones back into live business and they were seriously on top. Ok, Voodoo Lounge Tour was even better. The Atlantic City PPV is in my top five favourite concert.

Discussing the creative force of Pink Floyd. Roger was an important one but his solo works mostly show how much he misses Dave and Rick. Divided THEY fall.

I don't want to judge current pop or rock - call it what you want. Popular music is made by and for young people. Ok right , when I switch the radio on I regularly say "what that sh!t" and can't stand some of the modern production trick but I am an old fart now.

QuoteGazza well they could have said on the cover that it was Paris and London (76) and Toronto (77). The only issues were (maybe someone can clarify the finer details) that their previous record company (Atlantic I think) owned the rights to their performances up to 1975, so the performances on the album from the 1975 Los Angeles (Sympathy) and Toronto shows (Fingerprint File & IORR) were
