True, not miserable at all. Those finished outtakes on especially Some Girls, Exile and Tattoo You were almost like a brand new album to me. And let's not forget we also got Living in a Ghost Town, Doom & Gloom and One More Shot. And there were lots of opportunities to see them live of course. When you wrote like 450 songs (solo works included) I totally get you're running out of

Yeah, If the price is right, I'll watch too. I'm willing to pay $15 - $20 per show.

Ziggo Dome Amsterdam. Waaaaaay better accoustics than the disaster called Amsterdam Arena.

43 years old. My first Stones show was in 1995 when I was 15. Voodoo Lounge Landgraaf, Holland.

It was a fantastic show! Very nice to 'experience' that period through the eyes of Anita and Marianne. Great performance by the band and both actresses. It just stopped quite abruptly and it surprised me that Sister Morphine was missing...

Richard, age 43 from Holland. My introduction to the Stones was the re-release of Paint it Black in 1990, which was the title-track of the vietnam series 'Tour of Duty'. My dad (who liked the Stones in the 60's, but was not especially a fan) told me about the band and encouraged me to buy Hot Rocks 1, which i did...The rest is history.

QuoteDGA35 Great story, congrats John! I remember when Centerfield was released, original copies had the song Zanz Can't Dance. I believe under threat of lawsuit from Saul Zaentz he changed the song to Vanz Can't Dance. Not sure if those original copies are worth anything? Mine says "zans". So I'm rich now? Great album by the way. I absolutely love "The old

By Philippe Margotin and Jean-Michel Guesdon. This is the Dutch version. It tells the story behind all 365 official released songs, up to Blue and Lonesome. (So Livin'in Ghost Town is the only missing song at the moment). Very nice book. Two of my favourites not mentioned above are the (coffee-table) books: - The Rolling Stones On Air in the sixties - Tashen The Rolling Stones (up

I'm going next saturday in Hoogeveen! I saw Stones Sessions before and they're a pretty good coverband. Not the average Mick & Keith look-a-like act.

New album would be pretty exciting. And I would love a 'deluxe version' of a classic album with some finished outtakes. I loved Exile, SG, GHS and TY! Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge, IORR or Emotional Rescue Deluxe 2023 editions would be great! I have accepted the fact that their setlists are predictable. They have been since forever, so they're not going to change that anymore, gi

Tricky. Since Start me Up was their latest true worldwide hitsong. - Mixed Emotions - Love is Strong - Saint of Me - Living in a Ghost Town These are the only ones that have warhorse potential in my opinion.

Quote24FPS Six weeks? El Mocambo was May 13th. What calendar are you on? Did you forgot to put Live Licked in NY and the Live at the Checkerboard Lounge re-release on your calender, sir? Ik skipped Buenos Aires, Checkerboard, Copacobana and Live Licked in NY. Bought Bridges to Bremen at a sale and Honk only because my Grrr has a nasty scratch and Grrr is out of print.. I get that releas

I quess we all deal with it in our own way. I do miss him and he was my (anti) hero. But I can relate it now. The man was 80 years old and had a fantastic life. And he left us a lot!

Almost every > 1973 RS album has a couple of songs I always skip when I listen to it on CD or Spotify. Too Much Blood is one of those songs on the Undercover album. Along with 'Tie you up (The pain of love)' and 'Feel on baby'. Too Much Blood would probably make it to my Top 25 of 'worst Rolling Stones songs'. Somewhere between Gomper, Winning Ugly and Everythi

QuoteStonedRambler Quoteribbelchips Maybe I'll buy the Blu-ray disc. Assuming it's at least 1080P resolution and in widescreen this time? It must be, right? I skipped Licks in New York, Copacobana and Bridges to Buenos Aires since I have more than enough 'Vegas Stones' liveshows and I hardly listen to them (and even then I skip songs like Miss You and YCAGWYW). If a song is good, it's good. Regardless of the guests. The only thing that would really ruin a Stones song would be Bono or Chris Martin on lead vocals. I would honestly think it would be pretty cool if Paul McCartney for example would play bass on one or two songs song, or Dave Grohl instead of Steve Jordan. He did a nice job on John Fogerty's 'Wrote a song for everyone'

QuoteMadMax Quoteribbelchips True, but I mean shows from the >1995 period. I don't think that many fans are looking forward to 7 or 8 releases from the Bigger Bang or Licks tour... Waddya on about mate?!?! As long as it's on DVD I'd love full tours released from the Vegas era... Visually (and musically) every Vault DVD is a gem. Mind you, I dont bother too much with the CD

I wonder if these are released as indiviual albums or only as a boxset, like the last time. Not a fan of the colours by the way. For the >1971 catalogue, it would fit, but sixties material should be black..in my humble opinion, of course..

QuoteJustin I was just wondering why we haven't seen any more recent releases lately. Really? Licked Live in NY was released in June and El Mocambo was released in May.. I skipped Live Licked, Copacobana and Buenos Aires, but Newark has an interesting setlist. Too bad Lady Gaga is horrible on Gimme Shelter.

I totally get the idea behind opening with a strong classic song to immediately set the mood, but wouldn't it be much nice to just start with something completely different? Mick and Keith walking forward together after 'Ladies & gentlemen...' and start playing 'Happy' as they sang it together in the 70s? The crowd would go wild.. I really miss those kinds of refreshi

The guy wasn't able to do this kind of things for decades. When he showed up in private places in the seventies or eighties, hordes of fans would have torn him apart. We all post our holiday pictures on or social media timelines don't we?

Not a fan of guest performances either. I think the Stones just aren't the kind of act to do such a thing. Jagger is not your average singer, so when you invite a guest singer, they look kind of out of place to me. Christina Aguilera or Lady Gaga are fantastic singers, but they ruined Live with me and Gimme Shelter in my opinion. I cannot remember a guest performance that actually added some

It would work in smaller venues, i think. Where the crowd consists of core-fans, who actually know these new songs (because they bought the album). In a massive stadium show, the majority of visitors want to hear hitsongs and will be disappointed when half of the setlist is unknown to them. So yeah, they could do it, but they have to somehow announce it as such a show.. Otherwise people are going
