I don't really like 'Can you Hear the Music" either. And I do like other stuff like Cherry Oh baby, Far Away Eyes and even Continental Drift that are beyond normal Stones. I also dislike FingerPrint File from IORR. Just not my type a song... Hide your Love on GHS is a bit sloppy. The alternative take on the bonus disc is fantastic!

Metallica's Load was considered a disappointment compared to their 'black album' when it was just released, but in hindsight, it wasn't that bad at all. St. Anger and Lulu were yet to come

Hmm I was hoping for a reprint of this boxset. Maybe also on colored vinyl like the Abkco set, when I saw this thread was kicked..

Not a jazz-fan myself, so I'm not gonna buy this album, but Charlie deserves this album to top the jazz-charts!

It's not just overpriced, it's also a kick in the nuts to people who bought the original RSD release, believing they were in possession of a limited, exclusive item. The same can be said for the reprint of the ABKCO Rolling Stones in Mono boxset of course.. Jody Klein: "Hmmm, it's a shame we made those RSIM boxes limited to 10k copy's. They're being sold for $1

I loved Mick's haircut during the Urban Jungle tour (1990). Mick should stop dying his hair. I get it, the eternal youth image and all, but nobody truly believes it's your natural colour when you're 80 years old anymore dude.

Very nice releases. But why is ABKCO so focussed on the latter half of the sxties albums? They just released 50th anniversary editions for Majesties Request, Let it Bleed and Beggar's Banquet en they also released RSD versions of those albums (and Hot Rocks, More Hot Rocks and Metamorphosis). They're pretty much ignoring releases like Out of Our Heads, Englands Newest Hitmakes, No

I guess you're right. I always thought the artwork on the thumbnail was in the 'From the Vault' style (and it sure looks a lot like it) but it's not mentioned anywhere on the cover.

Imagine all those studio sessions ultimately resulting in 4 or 5 'new tracks' on yet another compilation album and that the quality of those songs are just on par with Stealing my heart and keys to your Love... Man, that would suck.

This song is a gem. Should be played more live. It's also in my personal top 25 RS songs...

Has the 'From the Vault' series (un)officially ended? The last entry was San José 99 if i'm not mistaken. It was (at least for me) very unclear what it exactly entailed. At first the releases were pretty much concentrated on 30-40 year old shows. which made me assume that the label was exclusively for older shows, but then they started to release shows from 1999, 2005 and even 2

QuoteLeonidP Quoteribbelchips 100 is too much for me. These are my 25 favorites Stones Songs. Funny, I thought the same, was going to limit it to 25. But when I pulled songs to narrow down to my 25 list, I found that I had 95 songs to choose from! So instead, I added 5 more to make it to 100. When you ask me again tomorrow what my favorite 25 Stones songs are, you might get a completely dif

Yeah same. It's 2023. Albums don't sell tickets anymore. And vice versa. Both can perfectly be launched months from each other, I quess.

Yeah, New album. Or wait for next year (Voodoo Lounge 30, Steel Wheels 35 anniversary). Apparantly it was hard enough for them to write 10 decent songs for Undercover, not that interested in the leftovers haha. (I know some of them are actually interesting )

I don't really see how not touring affects and album launch in 2023. For a band like the Stones. Tours don't sell albums anymore and the Stones don't need new material to sell tickets either... But new material will create a buzz around the Stones and their back catalogue, merchandise ect..

I always was a little afraid of this scenario. But that's the risk when you decide to 'just see where it goes'.. I personally had hoped that they had given a couple of farewell concerts across the globe and then called it a day. But apparently they thought that wasn't the 'rock and roll' way. And of course there is something to be said for that.. But hey, thi

I love Mick on Stray Cat Blues and Loving Cup. He's also great on Monkey Man, Angie, Moonlight Mile and lots of other songs from that era. In the early sixties his voice wasn't that great (probably just unexperienced). On songs like "I've been loving you too long" it even is embarassing at times (You were tiiiiiieeeeeed). Somewhere in the 1980s he probably started taki

Both Grrr! and 40 Licks were a timed deal with ABKCO. And Rolled Gold+.. Well it's basicly Hot Rocks + More Hot Rocks for the price of one. With those two albums permanently in their catalogue, ABKCO is shooting themselves in the foot by keep printing Rolled Gold+, aren't they? Honk has replaced Jump Back, which replaced Rewind before.

Quotewaterrats uhm, wasn't Mick seen at a soccer game complete with that cap? That was March 12. If he had twisted his ankle, did anybody see him walk with a limp? He likely was a VIP. It usually is a small walk (shuffle) from a skybox to your seats. And with all those stairs, it's very hard to see if someone is limping or not.

QuoteSend It To me "The drums were quite loud" was Mick's criticism of Talk Is Cheap, if I recall correctly. So they made them even louder on Main Offender I quess Why weren't the studio albums released under the name (Keith Richards and the) X-Pensive Winos, by the way?

You mean the coloured vinyl edition? On the Dutch Universal webshop it's even on 'sale' as we speak (€79,-). So either it was not that limited, of it's just not that popular. The standard black version is widely available here (prices starting at €42). On the first page of this topic, the price for the standard vinyl edition was 29,99 (amazon italy). Talk about skyrocketing vi

Not a fan of the drumming on Keith's solo records either. Especially on Main Offender. On a song like 'Hate it when you leave' it's way, WAY too present. Even get's me on my nerves. It's so much better on Crosseyed Heart..

How is the quality of the BluRay version? We've had a lot of these 'SD' BR discs, with pretty awfull video quality. Low resolution and in letterbox format. But since all these shows were filmed in poor quality, it was pretty obvious. But this one is recent and was recorded for live broadcasting. This must me like 1080p and fullscreen or 16:9 right?
