THIS IS LEGITIMATE!! I'm the one who uploaded this to my YouTube channel. This comes from an early test pressing for GET YER YA YAS OUT, otherwise known as the "Apple Acetate." Keith's guitar overdub is real and was taken out for the final mix

This is a wonderful song and 10/10 B-side gem. The only problem is if you try to include it on GHS, there'd be too many ballads. Interestingly, I found an article from "RollingStone" before the release of GHS and this was one of the song titles listed to be on the album. The article lists these songs that would be on the album (and written this way in the article): Silver Train

Quotegotdablouse Thanks for that picture, hadn't seen it before. I wonder why they have "From OB 1/2/3 24.7.80" date for many of these tracks as it's unlikely they were touched by the band after the initial sessions. Is it when they were mixed perhaps ? I wonder if "Just Because I Told You" leaked under another name ? "MR" could be "Master Reel&quo

QuoteGasLightStreet Start Me Up/Never Stop is missing from that list. Very true! It might be under the title "ONCE YOU STOP" from that list but not sure. Here's a pic I took from Exhibitionism when it was in NYC. These are tracks that were compiled for TATTOO YOU in October 1980. "Start Me Up" as you can see is listed under the title "Start It Up" from Paris &

Yeah, sadly a lot of sources aren't correct. TRAIN SONG is absolutely ALL ABOUT YOU. Here's Charlie, Mick, Bill and Ronnie talking about it in 1980. Quote taken from "timeisonourside." Charlie: The classic one on this album is the one Keith's done. I mean, I didn't know what... right up until about 2 months before the album... has now come out. Mick: Which one a

The tape has songs from the SG sessions, some from the RCA sessions and some from the ER sessions This list is from the SOME GIRLS sessions with the list of songs that were going to be mastered in early 1978, none from RCA or ER sessions:

Quotegotdablouse Great idea for a thread, agree with most of it but some stuff is news to me! I see the source but it's a bit of a stretch to have the B2B tunes slated for a solo album. As he says Mick was just writing songs alone (or with Clifford) as he's done since at least Steel Wheels. You could add all the 2002 tracks in that case and most of ABB. What are the sources for B

HOW COOL IS THAT!!?? Here's the tweet from NASA: "Hello “@RollingStones Rock” Who could hang a name on you? Um... us! When @NASAInsight touched down on the Red Planet, its engines sent a rock rolling across Mars' surface. We named it for the band"

I think that's a good new thread title >< Seriously though, this album needs to be good from start to finish. They started working on it almost 4 years ago now. If whatever they end up releasing is subpar, it would be a huge disappointment to the end of their careers.

Quotedoitywoik I remember a Keith interview from when B2B was released where he said that Gunface was his song. Is the info that Gunface was originally meant for a Mick solo album confirmed? "I had a lot of songs that I was just writing last autumn (1996) and I had thought, you know, I was gonna do a solo record and there wasn't really talk about doing a Stones record, so I was just w

Quotegoinhome Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think I remember hearing that One More Shot was originally intended for Crosseyed Heart? That is correct!! Steve Jordan said they recorded a version for CROSSEYED HEART before Keith wanted to give it to the Stones.

QuoteDandelionPowderman A few more: It's Only Rock'n'Roll: Written and recorded by Wood for his IGMOATD-album, but traded with Mick and Keith’s I Can Feel The Fire. Ended up on IORR. Sure The One You Need and Act Together: Intended for a Stones album, but was offered Wood for IGMOATD. Sure The One You Need and Act Together I think were both written by Keith for Wood's

Quotestickyfingers101 isn't there also some discussion of "Paint it Black" vs. "Paint it, Black" comma....no comma? what say you? If I'm not mistaken, the comma was added by DECCA when the song was released, so the proper title is "Paint It Black."

Was just thinking yesterday about Stones songs that ended up being worked on for solo material and vise versa. Memo From Turner: Originally worked on by the Stones in 1968 and released on the ABKCO album METAMORPHOSIS in 1975. Re-recorded by various musicians and released as a Mick Jagger solo single in 1970. Act Together: Recorded and released on Ron Wood's solo album I'VE GOT M

QuoteRocky Dijon I first heard of "High or Low" when Rob Fraboni mentioned it to Stones People magazine in his interview about the BRIDGES TO BABYLON sessions. I next heard of it when Sheryl Crow mentioned Keith played it to her in 2001 and she thought it was the best Stones song in years and wanted to work on it with Keith either for her album or his next album. And that was it.

I know I've only seen them 3 times but I'd say the most unique songs I've seen them play were: SWAY: Giants Stadium, September 27, 2006 (Performed 25 times) MOONLIGHT MILE: Heinz Field, June 20, 2015 (Performed 23 times) SHE'S A RAINBOW: MetLife Stadium, August 1, 2019 (Performed 18 times) I guess they're not really unique songs but for this I'll call them u
