QuoteMisterDDDD Just as we had a couple of the first non-socially distanced larger concerts over here with Smashmouth etc performing at Sturgis. Lotta used motorcycles coming on the market in the not too distant future. WTH is that supposed to mean?

Hickory Wind and In My Hour of Darkness are brilliant, IMHO. Such a shame he departed at such a young age. There must've been a lot more music left in him. I would love to see Gram & Keith doing stuff today; old country standards, etc.

Quoteroryg Loved Creem, especially Lester Bangs and the letters section. Charles Bukowski's "review" of a Stones show was priceless. Boy Howdy indeed I had no idea who CB was when I was 14/15. I probably read the review but naturally remember nothing lol I would love to have a read now!

QuoteChacho Hello StonedAsiaExile, It was Ron Wood in Dallas 1975. My mistake. I have now corrected it and edited my post, above. Thanks for pointing that out. When that many years have passed, sometimes the memory fails. I know the feeling....thought maybe he made an appearance I wasn't aware of. Cheers!!

Quotenellcote'71 My brother and I were there. We moved from New Jersey to North Carolina in early July '75 when i was 15 so i saw the Stones for the first time at MSG in late June and then took my 13 year old brother to the Greensboro show on July 31st. Paid $25 for each seat from a seller in the newspaper. Festival seating. We had our mom drop us off at the Greensboro Coliseum at 12

Today, 31 July, I am celebrating my first ever Rolling Stones concert in Greensboro, NC. I know a few here were there. Say 'hi' if you're still around.

QuoteElmo Lewis QuoteStonedAsiaExile I've had a recurring dream over the years in which: 1. The Stones are playing at a theater in Raleigh, NC 2. I am invited for soundcheck. 3. Watch the concert from first row. 4. Get invited to have a drink and ciggie (I don't smoke) with Keith and Patti at their hotel, which happens to adjoin the theater. 5. Their room number, each and every

I was familiar with this magazine in the back of my mind but never paid any attention to it. So, I went and 'read' through some issues and came away unimpressed. Maybe because I grew up on NME, Creem (great mag btw), and Rolling Stone when it was good. Maybe it's today's music. I just can't listen to it. Doesn't put a rise in the old Levis. I stick to the

Still amazes me to this day that the 'establishment' felt threatened by a bunch of long haired musicians who wanted to do bit of weed and whatever and have their girlfriend walk around in a rug lol It surely was an earthquake in Britain, and most of the Western world, at the time.

I was 12 years old. My cousin's older brother handed us a copy of Through the Past Darkly Volume 2. We put it on the turn table and lay down on the floor of the bedroom. As it started, the older cousin turned the volume up and left the room. After I heard Jumping Jack Flash I was in. That was it. No more Grand Funk Railroad or even Steppenwolf. It was the Stones 100%. Jumping Jack

All this brings up a question: are the major studios open for business?? Of course nowadays an album can be recorded in your bedroom but there is something special about certain rooms in certain studios.

My high school English Lit teacher grew up with Charlie, dated him in high school herself and almost married, apparently but she wanted to stay close to home and the rest is history. He was back in town in the 70s and gave her a call to catch up. Long story short, she got m

QuoteRockman I asked Keith, ‘Hey man, did you play bass on this song?’ and he said ‘Yeah’. I said ‘So what’s the bassline?’ and he was like, ‘I don’t know, man. You’re the bass player, you tell me what the bassline is!’ Typical Keith and very funny response!
