QuoteBig Al QuoteS.T.P QuoteMabru Quoteironbelly QuoteMabru Nice to see also a 1976 show released. If I am correct from all the tours in the seventies we have at least one official release. Not yet. Europe 1970 is missing. True I forgot that tour I'll add the pasific "down under" -winter tour of 1973 - very different from '72 and Europe 1973. I absolutely agree. I have

If it is Earl's Court, I hope they include "Sympathy" from either May 21st or 23rd. They played the same setlist every night with the only difference being "Sympathy" as the last song those two nights. Wonder why they dropped that from the last three dates . . . I have a few releases from these dates, but although soundboards, they are less then perfect -- a lot o

Quotebakersfield Majesties? Perhaps their most uneven album - with some of the band's best and worst efforts on the same disc. Here's my version: Side A Sing This All Together (Mickboy's edit - lasts about 90 seconds, it's enough) Citadel In Another Land 2000 Man She's Doing Her Thing Side B She's a Rainbow (single edit without the extraneous nose at

Quotekeefriffhards Quote1cdog For keefriffhards: Thanks for that man. I've never seen it, Eric's on fire there. I actually think Eric played better through the drinking years, just as our Keith played better in the coked up years. Just watched The Last Waltz last night, Robbie Robinson was trying to give Eric a run for his money, then a clearly drunk Clapton just blew him aw

My favorite version of this song is Keith's demo/run through on the various Steel Wheels outakes CDs. More laid back (as you would expect from a demo, etc.) which seems more appropriate for this song.

I understood that there were technical problems with the quality of the Knebworth recording in places that prevented an official release. That's why all the bootleg soundboard releases were incomplete. Is this the case or does a quality master tape exist? Any thoughts? I wonder if there's the possibility a deluxe "Love You Live." having heard the tracks that were ma

In the U.S, $300 for seven CDs -- about $43 a CD -- is pretty steep, even if it does come in a very nice box . . . I'm sure it will sell and I'm sure it will be of great quality, but I wonder about the pricing. Doesn't seem like the artists are showing a lot of concern for their fans and their ability to afford sets like this. The marketing for this quotes Springsteen sayin

Better late than never, but in response to the source of the video, yes, it was an in house crew and video system. I was there. At the time, the Superdome had a roof mounted quad screen (four screens in a square). Duck

QuoteGasLightStreet Damn. Sheperd's Bush is definitely worth getting just for these alone: Shattered All Down The Line Some Girls Melody I Got The Blues Brand New Car Moon Is Up Route 66 Melody never played live before? Ha. SAN JOSE has Midnight Rambler but less, only 3 of these interesting songs. Melody is on the El Mocambo offical release.

QuoteGasLightStreet I've never come across anything that the Stones themselves said they had something or anything, for that matter, to prove. They just wanted to play music. They still do. So that hasn't changed. Perhaps they have never overtly said it, but I think the spectacle of their shows demonstrates they are trying to prove something -- bigger, better than anyone else, l

Well, not that my opinion makes any difference, but after listening to the IORR/RTJ mp3, I'm not overwhelmed with the mix either. The overdone reverb on Mick removes the intimacy of the club gig. Unfortunate. Now, I'm in the camp that now loves LYL. I admit, I didn't at first when it came out, but it was live Stones, so I played the hell out of it, 8 track, cassette, and viny

QuoteWoz QuoteBashlets It won’t even sound like the stones. I’m out LOL! Overreact much? No doubt this sucks but it will sound like the Stones. Probably not. Watch a Winos video. Jordan beats the hell out of the drums. Charlie has a smooth jazzman's touch. It will sound like Keith Moon sitting in, although Jordan can keep time. Duck

While I always look at these stupid things -- effective clickbait -- I don't put any stock in them. They're designed to provoke an emotional response -- usually a disagreement -- and get you to keep clicking. This is the website that apparently has no idea that two of the tracks on "Got Live If You Want It" were studio recordings mixed with audience noise, at least they

Can only speak to my experience, but I was able to transfer all my Google Play Music purchases to YouTube Music without any problem. I bought all the Stones Archive releases GPM had for sale when they came out. They are now in "My Library" on YouTube Music and they all play without commercials. I've now probably uploaded more than 30 albums (converted to mp3) to "My Libra

Quotepeoplewitheyes Certainly it was a braver choice of single than, say, Crazy Mama or Hand of Fate. Solid rockers, but a little formulaic, even then. I agree with that. Both tracks seem pretty pedestrian to me, Hand of Fate being the better of the two. When I bought the album in '76, I gravitated to Melody, Memory Motel and Fool to Cry, in that order. I never felt it was a bad album,

QuoteMadMax Quotetreaclefingers QuoteMileHigh QuoteChris Fountain QuotePietro QuoteHairball It's an embarrassing song to the Stones legacy. I love the guitars though, and the groove by Charlie and Bill really gets going strong midway. But it's Micks vocals that ruin it for me . They are silly and contrived, wanting to sound like the singer from KC and the Sunshine band. KC

I saw "Live In Texas '78" in the theater when it was out for that two day run prior to the release on disc. I'm sure it had a lot to do with the mix, THX Certified Theater Audio, etc., but I was completely knocked out by the drums in that show. I just remember the kick they had and just how they stood out. His playing was incredible. That said, played on a good stereo, h

When LAGTRS came out on official video, I read that the audio came directly from the audio track on physical film stock. The actual film that was the source for the official release was found in Ian Stewart's garage and it was in almost pristine condition so it was used for the official release. The multi-track audio masters have yet to be located. So that's why the official CD audio

Don't know if you ever got an answer to this... Japanese and U.S. blu rays are the same region code so they will play on a U.S. player. Sometimes extras are formatted in the DVD standard, but that's OK in the case of Japan since they also use the NTSC standard. I have a number of blu rays purchased directly from CDJapan and they all play fine on a standard U.S. blu ray player.
