It's what you're into. I've read many of these and my personal favorite is Wyman's Stone Alone because I like the detail of all those early shows, and seeing how they perfected who they were by playing live way more than many current bands do (unless posting on youtube counts as playing live). On the other hand Life seems to be crowd favorite, and though I enjoyed it, it wa

Drove up yesterday to see it in Nashville.. Looks like there's many posts on this subject, and I haven't read them all, so apologies if I'm repeating what everyone else said. Enjoyed it overall, and bought the pass so will return to re-visit my favorite parts which were: Seeing the original mock-up for Big Hits High Tide & Green Grass (my first Stones album as a kid); Playin

QuoteBluzDude Nice one Snoopy.... ....I must say, that when I was in Nashville I guess about 10 years back, I really enjoyed exploring that building behind you (I assume that's you) - and I'm not even that big of a country music fan. Yes, it is I.. You may have visited the Country Music Hall Of Fame? There are actually a couple different hall of fames in Nashville, the one behind

Annnnnnnnd, here's W.C. Handy, "Father of the blues" statue in downtown park. He was from this area and you can visit his home/cabin he grew up in nearby. Hard to say who really is the father (or mother) of the blues, but it is safe to say I was introduced to them all because of the Stones.

Drove up to Nashville yesterday to check out the venue. Apparently there are at least five tongues around town, we only saw this one, but in our defense, have you tried to drive around Nashville -- "It City" -- these days!

QuoteBluzDude QuoteStonesSoCal Thank you! Can't wait for opening night! It can be frustrating, especially being up at 2AM trying to get through. I've had the same issues as you. I got thru using a visa....but now I'm set for my 3 shows (also in SoCal) Feel a bit better hearing similar frustrations.. Thought I was the only American who couldn't figure out how to conduct bus

Someone asked if studios were torn down on another thread (buy/sell/trade) and the answer is no. They have been remodeled, with some of the money coming from Dr. Dre's foundation. There is a gift shop in lobby area and they offer tours all week. Also a few times a year they offer what is called the Swampettes tour (Swampers) where you get on a small bus and tour the area as well as the studi

Couple more pics.. Entryway shot is just that, the entryway to our home in Florence/Muscle Shoals.. The KC show when they played "Kansas City!" Other shot is Tennessee River. Left side is Florence (their motel was just up the road from river), right side is Muscle Shoals/Sheffield where the studios are. Some Deep South Alabama mud blues & rock n' roll! ]entry ]bridge

Quotekovach First of all, take the tour, it's great. And don't miss the FAME tour too although that I understand can be hit and miss; being a working studio you only get to see parts that aren't in use at any given time so we didn't get to go into famed studio A which I was kinda pissed about). FAME happened to me the first time too, but went back and finally got int

If I can make it to any European shows this summer I will get in touch, maybe easier. Otherwise I'd be willing to pay postage in future.. I tried on Discogs
