It was the web choice in Philadelphia, 1998. When Keith stepped up and did the "She got a mind of her own" line, it was goose bumps all over, the place went crazy. One thing I will never forget from that show.

If you piece all the different interviews and different jokes together, it sounds to me like Keith has said, "no holograms while I'm alive and here," and then whatever happens after that, happens, if it happens. They seem to have an agreement that once someone bows out or dies, the others can do whatever they want and decide to continue or not. They continued after Charlie, with hi

Nice sax work by James King....that is how sax is supposed to sound on a Rolling Stones song!

My friend who bought Detroit by mistake, because of the mixed up links/buttons, just got his tickets refunded. They wouldn't transfer them to Charlotte (the city he wanted) but he did get his money back. So if that happened to you, contact Ticketmaster. You have a window of time (I think until tonight) to get a refund if it was because of the Detroit SNAFU.

QuoteRSbestbandever What can I do about the Detroit lucky dip tickets I got by mistake, I was trying for Atlanta lucky dips and click on Atlanta but after paying for them it turned out to be Detroit lucky dip. No way I can make it, will Ticketmaster help with this? My friend who had this same problem, Ticketmaster told him they would give him a refund for Detroit but would not transfer the tick

I got 2 Lucky Dips for Charlotte, which wasn't my first choice. My buddy trying to buy for Charlotte, got the glitch that directed him to Detroit show. He bought two Lucky Dips, thinking it was for Charlotte but it's for Detroit. They will offer him a refund but not letting him transfer them to Charlotte. He's pretty pissed. BV is right, keep refreshing and keep clicking. t

Quotekeithsman Well done Keith, better late than never. Beggars the question why after all these years, looking forward to some nice clear vocals from Keith this tour. Yeah I'm actually interested and curious to see if I will hear a difference, as well. I know that when he seriously curbed his drinking relatively recently (maybe not completely quit, but really dialed it back considerab

Yeah about the New Orleans date, the other night I spoke to my Jazz Fest source who is pretty well plugged in to the booking side of things. I asked them about the Stones playing the Fest, and although I didn't get a direct, flat-out verbal "NO!" as an answer, it was pretty obvious from the reaction I got to the question, that I was barking up the wrong tree, and it's not part

I don't know if it's truly a factor, but he had sorta botched the intro to "Happy" a couple of times, before it got more or less dropped. He played it on Patti's birthday (March 17, 2016 in Mexico City) and dedicated it to her, then right after that he kind of butchered the intro chords pretty badly. Almost as bad as Scarfgate at Hyde Park.

I have to wonder if the actual tape boxes literally got mixed up and jumbled together, as the band worked on things, and moved from place to place, over the many many years. It's so baffling. Back on the Exile deluxe set, "Title 9" was clearly not Exile-related, it was much earlier track, and now "Gimme Shelter" with what's pretty clearly Ron Wood on guitar, shows up

QuoteDandelionPowderman The second (no slide) solo is on L&G and the 72-tour, not Ya Yas? Ah. If that's true (and I think you're right, I haven't heard Ya Ya's for years but I have no reason to doubt you), then yeah, I'm totally confused. I was thinking of Welcome To New York (my favorite "Love In Vain") but now that I think about it, I am definitely

QuoteDandelionPowderman Open G-songs on Ya Yas: Love In Vain (Taylor, with bottleneck) Is that true? What about the second (non-slide) solo from Taylor? That's in open G? I always thought Love In Vain was Taylor in standard, but he was using the "open G" portion of the middle of the neck, 12th fret, on the bottleneck slide solo. The second non-slide solo always sounded

Terry Reid's The Other Side of the River consisting of outtakes from his The River album was released by Light In The Attic in 2016 and it did pretty well in terms of sales. I think there would definitely be a market for a release like that. Terry is a well known "cult" artist with a small but dedicated following. His music also appeared in Rob Zombie movies which gives him a certa

This is one of those clips where you can watch it and you KNOW that Mick has spent an awful LOT of time in the room with Keith, over the many many years....he's mocking Keith, but it's coming from a genuine place of love, like family....when someone really knows a person, inside out, so that they're mocking them but with some real love mixed into the equation, that's when they

Quotejumpontopofmebaby Kansas City will not happen. Tickets did not sell well at all on the Zip Code Tour. Thousands of seats were available just a few days before the show. Floor seats in the first five rows were going for $225 each. They sold every other row in some of the lower sections to make it seem more full. I would not count on Kansas City. St Louis before KC Fair eno

If you think about it, in 2019 they did 17 shows: 13 NFL stadiums 1 college football stadium 2 Festivals (counting Jazz Fest, which got cancelled and wound up being held in an NFL stadium) They obviously had a deal in place with the NFL, to do the shirts with the football team logos. Knowing how the NFL works, you don't make a deal like that for only SOME of the NFL teams, you have

Not their best moment of that era. I think a different take, done slightly more upbeat, might have had potential. Something closer to "Shine A Light" in feel, could have, would have, should have, worked well.

QuoteSpud But maybe they've both realised that life really is too short to spend time sulking over the trivial stuff...and it's better to be mates than adversaries . I think this is a part of it, for sure. But I also think they have realized that, this is what the fans want to see. Cynically, you can't help but notice that the moments they spend together onstage are very scripte

This one is an interesting scenario because, pushing back the New Orleans show by a day for the storm was actually no big deal -- the stage and lighting rigs and everything else was indoors, inside the Superdome -- even if the storm had been bad one, the stage and rigging still would have been inside the Dome and away from the wind and rain. If the storm hits the full rigging and stage, insid

I think the "Nicky Hopkins tape" indicates the horns were done at Nelcotte. Nicky was at Nelcotte, but he apparently wasn't in L.A. The tape that Nicky had, that surfaced a few years ago, has prominent horns on many of the instrumental tracks.

I had pulled out my copy of Tattoo You while getting ready for the Superdome concert, leading up to the show, and I had it leaning on the edge of the stack of vinyl beneath the turntable. And I was struck by how utterly cool and visionary the album cover was, for its time. I had other record covers strewn around the living room, in piles, to compare it to, and the Tattoo You cover was so bold and

Lately I compile a playlist and watch them for free on Youtube, a couple days after the concert. I'd definitely pay for soundboard quality audio on these recent shows, but more like a lower price point, like the Who's live downloads, which were around $10 or less per show. Now that the tours are shorter, each individual show is more special. I'm actually more interested in each ind

I know this idea is way too "out there" for the Stones machine to even contemplate, but they should release soundboards of every single show, as downloads, a day or two after the show, like many other major bands do. At a reasonable price, I would buy them ALL. I bought several from the Who on their last go-round, and I'm not even really THAT BIG of a Who fan. I bought the Who show

Quotevirgil I wonder does Gimme Shelter stay in the 15 slot like Jacksonville or do they move it back to 1st encore, imho is the better spot. In the unused "In Case Of Rain" setlist from Chicago #1, Gimme Shelter was the last song of the encore. Probably so that Mick and Sasha could go out on the catwalk, get drenched, and then get dried off and changed immediately right after instea

Not really. Closest thing I'd compare it to is Handsome Girls from 1978. Those are both made from professionally mixed multitrack broadcast recordings. Most other bootlegs from that era are soundboard or audience recordings.
