As he said with perfect Canadian irony, "I was born with the gift of a golden voice" Yeah, my friends are gone and my hair is gray I ache in the places where I used to play And I'm crazy for love but I'm not coming on I'm just paying my rent every day in the Tower of Song . . . Now I bid you farewell, I don't know when I'll be back They'

Quotewonderboy Why is it England Dan and John Ford Coley? Because Dan was a fan of an English band, The Beatles, and he didn't want to use his last name--Seals--because his older brother was using it in his duo Seals & Croft. "Ford" created better flow in the name John Colley, while "Colley" was hard to pronounce correctly so it was changed to "Coley."

On a slightly different but related tangent . . . My brother once told my family (and me) about the night he went out with two girls to a party. It was a big party, apparently, lots happening and such. He was in university at the time, 1967, trying to finish a degree in architecture at the University of Alberta. Anyways the story goes that he went with these two girls to a party and the

A 'C', an E-flat, and a 'G' go into a bar. The bartender says: "Sorry, but we don't serve minors." So, the E-flat leaves, and the C and the G have an open fifth between them. After a few drinks, the fifth is diminished: the G is out flat. An F comes in and tries to augment the situation, but is not sharp enough. A D comes into the bar and heads straight f

Quotemickschix First, Bon Jove was being NICE by joining in! It was not rehearsed or planned. He was a GUEST! This is ridiculous to critique " his performance". The woman singer was BAD! I'm sure he felt awkward and was happy to not do an encore! No one critiqued his performance and no one would dare accuse Bon Jovi of planning or rehearsing this performance. No sure where you

Between this and choking on my own vomit (or somebody else's vomit), I think I might go with the vomit. Are there worse examples of celebrities singing their own songs so badly at a private event? Do not share them if there are.

QuoteElmo Lewis Not trying to start a religious discussion/fight on here, but just saying that Revelations speaks of a 10 nation union of members of the old Roman Empire. Way too many in the EU for that at the moment. Could this be the beginning of other nations' leaving also? Trying to end any religious discussion, Revelation is a poorly written work of fiction from the Iron Age

It is amazing that for a coupon/ voucher /refund deal it's pretty much a fckyouverymuch kind of offer where very, very few people get anything that they might want. It begs the question: why not just give a simple refund rather than this useless voucher/ coupon deal that is of no use to 98% of your customers. Tells you how little they care. What's the Uber version of ticket

If you bought tickets via ticketmaster between 1999 and 2013 you may be eligible for a credit or voucher I checked my TM account and found that I got both. I'm not sure that I want to use them, if it means giving TM more money. I'd rather just have the money back, thanks. But y'know what they say about looking at the dental work of gift horses. Here are some of the details

In 2014, 33,599 Americans died from a gunshot wound. That's 92 deaths each and every day, or about two Orlandos each and every day. Yes, every day. From 2001 to 2010, 119,246 Americans were murdered with guns in the United States. That's 18 times the number of American combat deaths in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, over the same period of time that America's been a

QuoteLimbostone QuoteBig Al It’s utterly ludicrous. Furthermore, so is the ‘knighting’ of any living person. Historically though, dead knights were pretty useless. You might be confusing knights with saints. Indeed. Not for nothing, dead saints haven't been any more useful. Charlie: "Yeah, Oh, yeah, they'll never make A knight of me."

Quotestanlove I thought that past 1971 Ali was a very boring fighters except for the Foreman fight. His fights were so full of non fighting and game playing. I didn't enjoy his fights at all when he got older. Not sure how you can exclude his Frazier fights (II and Thrilla in Manila). If you include them and the Foreman fight (as you do), you could say he was the Greatest from somewhere

QuoteBig Al No pop-singer, pop-star etc, should be awarded a knighthood. It’s utterly ludicrous. Furthermore, so is the ‘knighting’ of any living person. Let’s abolish the whole thing, I say. Well, the whole royalty thing is fkn ludicrous, right? I mean it's essentially a fairy tale (a lie) about a family that has a divinely given right to rule over others, to not pay taxes, to run their

Quotestanlove What really annoys me about this whole thing is the fact that the cause was announced in the first and nobody seems to care about that. Why does anyone have the right to know that? It's annoying, but necessary from the legalistic view that the medical examiner's office is a public office and that cause of death (or even the declaration of a person's death) is a matt
