Nashville Skyline is one of his best albums ever. It was adored at the time. And ahead of it's time in it's own original way. The song writing is beautiful and worthwhile. His singing is completely great. That's how it struck me then, I spent so much time in headphones listening to it over and over when it was new. I had a little cassette player with great fidelity and just listene

QuoteStoneage Yes, and limited edition seldom means anything. It's just a way of selling more products. Yes and the possibility/probablity that the re-master has little to do with the original vibe. And that's saying it nicely.

. oops. deleted post. i was musing & more appropriate for the 'suggestions next studio album' thread. B&L is a fresh pleasantry thus far. I'm currently still high off their new country blues clip. (Country Honk) from Ole Ole.

poor charlie. lol. My absolute favorite part was like a micro-second long. Clone asks Charlie what he's learned from Mick he just says "oh God" and they edited it right there.

QuoteDGA35 I actually like this song. I believe it was included on The Black Box? Yes, the lyrics are changed to a man's point of view, Jill not Bill. He also skips a whole verse. An awesome version of this song is when LaLa Brooks, the original Crystals singer, was on David Letterman in December 2014 when she sang And Then He Kissed Me/Da Do Ron Ron. IMO, one of the best performances ev

Jack Nitzsche arranged the massive original Crystals hit for Spector. Also Jack arranged & conducted a slow orchestral version for his own Lonely Surfer LP in '63 preceding ALO's project. Seems like this idea had already been envisioned and produced by Jack, perhaps a direct inspiration for Andrew. This Mick demo is fun and interesting because I'm a fan but it's not

I don't live in either of these cities but I'm usually hoping either Seattle or the Patriots kick ass. When they play against each other I can't even pick, well maybe i'm a bit more NE, but what a competitive game. That Seattle defense stand there at the 1. Wow. I mean Patriots had every prime chance, or two. Seattle deserves that win and it wasn't even Wilson in the end

QuoteLieB If it's a dvd, it should have been converted to 5.1 surround (but you need a 5.1 system to listen to it, of course). Ladies & Gents in quad ...now that's one bootleg I'd like to get my hands on. I don't think it's circulates at all unfortunately. I have only heard this live in honest hi fidelity quad with good wattage twice; both times at this theatre

The birds they sang at the break of day Start again I heard them say Don't dwell on what has passed away or what is yet to be. Ah the wars they will be fought again The holy dove She will be caught again bought and sold and bought again the dove is never free. Quotetatters Saw him in New York a couple of times. Carnegie Hall in '88 and at what used to be called the Felt Forum in '93. The first time I saw him, he played this dinky little keyboard solo during "Tower of Song." When he finished it, a couple of people clapped and he said, "Thank you, you are far too kind!" I guess you had to be there, but it was pretty funny an

Yes a bit sad that they won't, considering their age, and that Dave has recovered enough from his stroke to work and does work, and that Mick Avory, last I heard, is still alive, well & kicking. They've got 3 of 4 originals so it looks good on paper. Ray is still inspired to write and still sings well so that looks good on paper. RIP Pete Quaife. And I'm remembering Nicky

WE LOVE YOU MICK !! get well soon you can do this. All great respect and affection for the man who wrote Rock & Roll Queen! (Mott The Hoople) And at the end of Walking With A Mountain (one of my all time favorite songs) they play a hot spirited tribute of JJF, a great salute to The Stones, working in another room. Better hold on now

QuoteBluzDude Quotejlowe If a musical works for the Kinks, why not the Stones? Perhaps its a question of musical styles. And maybe Mick and Keith wouldn't authorise use of their songs. Could you imagine if Ray Davies didn't allow usage of his songs, especially since he created the play? Why would Mick or Keith write or create a musical and not allow their songs to be used? Beca

Who's Next might be their best album but it's like comparing diamonds to diamonds. Depending on the angle and light one will shine brighter at times. Tommy takes some commitment and time and for me it's living breathing powerfully unique; at the time the perfect culmination of all of Pete's bristling wit, deepest soul and guitar prowess. There is nothing that really soun

QuoteSilver Dagger Tommy is a masterpiece. It features some of The Who's most inspirational playing and songwriting and is one of their best recorded works. Yes, it's a concept but then so much of Pete Townshend's work is conceptual - from A Quick One, Tommy, Lifehouse, Quadrophenia to Iron Man. The film was dreadful and bombastic Ken Russell should never have been allowed to

well this is classic. a one run game bottom of the tenth two outs. tying man on first, winning run at the plate. Chi 8, Cleveland 7. two outs. one swing and it could be over for each of the teams. I expect a quick third out and Chi win, but I didn't expect any of this hot hitting tonight and glad to see it. And that's it. The Chicago Cubs are the Champions of the World. Congratulatio
