Really looking forward to a new Blues Album by the Stones. Once it is released i must not compare it with Albums 1 and 2 plus the definitive Chess boot recordings from 1964 as these are exceptional with the vast majority of songs being cover versions. It would be totally unfair to expect the new release sound tracks to be as raw and mighty as the ones some 50 odd years ago. Pretty certain th

Blueranger you are absolutely correct in that music fans of any age ( new or older ) should be able to buy and enjoy the brilliant Stones music emulating from 1963 - 1969 period as its some of the best music ever created. They should also check out the period from 1971 - 1981 as that also contains a multitude of really excellent songs. A new generation of fans buying and enjoying Stones songs w

Blueranger it is better to be suspicious than moneyless as there have been many Stones record cons over the years. Thanks for your input plus Irix. I have been carefully looking through my Stones record collection and already have all listed songs in one form or another. Have to assume that Universal/ABCKO are actively trying to encourage fans to think that this new release is something extra

Yes Amazon.com is showing the label as ABKCO with ASIN: B01H2NU8DQ yet Amazon.co.uk is showing label as Commercial Marketing with ASIN: B01H2NU8DQ. This discrepency requires to be cleared up as it is clouding the adverts. However it is possible that this is a semi combination of the US and UK Mono LP's up to Let It Bleed where ABKCO , Polydor, Universal , Decca And London were all labels

Beware Greeks bearing gifts If it looks too good to be true then beware that these are boots rehashed and packaged attractively and offered at high price range to justify their alleged authenticity. There are people out there who are aware that due to lack of new Stones material since 2006 that long time fans can be easily persuaded to part with their hard earned cash for content already boug

Lets face it if it is not a financially viable proposition then Universal will not release a new CD product. This is pure business logic and one that even the Stones will have to agree with. Especially as poor sales would lead to the Stones being severely criticised by the pop critics as being old past it and almost irrelevent . Whether or not the Stones have actually written and recorded decen

Be careful as things shown on Amazon are not necessarily what they seem plus the high buying price does not mean that the product for sale is the real thing.

Many thanks to BV for updating the Stones rumoured recordings due in the near future.( nothing likely in 2016 ) BV always provides genuine information and he obviously does have insight in to what is actually going on within the Stones camp. This wonderful band of skinny English cats who have been around at the top for 54 years and it is sad that we have not had a new album since 2006 and not

Thanks Georgelicks for your update which covers where they are with regard to a new album and its content. You would think that they will not release it before Cochella/Las Vegas in October.16 otherwise attendees might be expecting some new material to be played. Please keep updating re progress and possible release date as your info. is warmly received as to its accuracy.

Good one Irix - Maybe he needed the binoculars as was almost in nose bleed section. Highly unlikely for a man of wealth and taste.

Mick Jagger is attending the Euro football competition with his son Lucas to watch the England matches which start Saturday 11/6/16. This could last for 2 - 4 weeks which suggests that completing a new album is not a priority of Micks at the moment. Info. for this was provided by Lucas's mum Luciana in national newspaper 2 part article entitled Roll Model.

When I heard the opening strings of Lady Jane 29/11/12 at the O2 Arena I immediately wondered how they could replicate Brian's part in the song. I was amazed to find that Ronnie Wood's guitar playing sounded like a dulcimer or harp and he covered Brian's part in the song excellently. Ronnie once again showed that he is an excellent musician who unfortunately does not always r

The Totally Stripped deluxe edition has re-kindled my love affair for stones songs . Especially the numerous non warhorse songs they played at the three different locations now out on DVD. As a member of the older generation it takes a lot to get me excited these days but by crikey this issue has really done the trick . If you are considering buying it then go for the Blue Ray version whic

Hope that this is a joke as the song on the video with bits of Honkey Tonk Women inserted is absolutely rank rotten . Pretty certain that abkco or the Stones would ban the use of this as it absolute tripe.

The DVDs and the content have re-ignited my passion for Stones songs ( other than warhorses ) and the De-Lux release ( 4 DVDs + CD ) is a must buy for fans plus the price is a real bargain.

Such sad news of the passing of the legendary figure that he was to all. It Was an honour to see the great man boxing . . He was a boxer with no equal's, an entertainer,,the ultimate showman , a political activist who put his religious beliefs before the war in Vietnam and because of that was stripped of his title in 1967 ,banned from boxing for life and was threatened with a prison sent

Happy birthday Keith and thanks for Crosseyed Heart which I play in my car daily. Only managed 19 out of 20 as did not select Norah Jones. Now if only you and Mick can find the time and working relationship to create some really great Stones style songs for the 2016 album. One can wish for dreams to come true.

There is a recent Voodoo Lounge appreciation thread on Shidoobee which is well worth reading as there are different interpretations as to whether the album was good bad or indifferent.

Many happy returns to the guy that started the rock and roll revolution with his duck walk and riff based songs that just made you want to get up and dance. His original style of song and chord structure has been often copied but never surpassed.

The U.K. version of Between the Buttons is a most underated album with the Jagger/Richard songwriting team exploring many varied avenues. 'Back Street Girl' is one of the most thoughful compositions fro Mick/Keith. The lyrics are sad, reflective and sung to nostalgic accordion, acoustic guitar and tambarine. 'Yesterday's Papers' opens with a very simple drum and bass

Excellent post giving an insight in to the early days of Little Boy Blue and the Blue Boys. Hard to believe that reading about Mick and Keith in their informative late teenage years that they would become the Glimmer Twins part of the notorious rock band the Rolling Stones who are still be performing sold out concerts 53 years on and still rolling .

Starf---er is one of the most controversial songs by the Stones as it leaves nothing to the imagination re sex acts. This song is about groupies. Songwriters often write about subjects they're familiar with, and Mick Jagger was an expert in this area. Originally, this was called "Starf--ker," which is slang for a groupie. Atlantic Records made them change it, eliminating

The little yellow pill in Mothers Little Helper (1966) is definitely valium which was prescribed by doctors in Britain in the 60's for stress, anxiety and a muscle relaxant and at that time mainly to women. This little yellow pill was dished out by doctors with frequency at 15 to 50mgs daily and did more damage than good. This drug in dozes over 15mg had a zombiefying effect and the user als

Yes with sssoul there are at least 5/6 possible explanations to the troubadour line and the right one has yet to be identified. The only guy who knows is Mick and perhaps one day soon when asked again he will finally explain what it means. There is of course the chance that this was just one of Micks lines that just fitted in with the song lyric flow but really meant not a lot and we know that

Well my head is a buzz with trying to provide a logical explanation but one more try - The line "And I laid traps for troubadours who get killed before they reach Bombay" possibly refers to the notorious Thuggee cult, who worshiped Kali, the Hindu goddess of death. They would waylay travelers on the roads of India, then kill the entire group in order to make off with their valuables.
