Sounds like a good if fictional biopic.

You see a guy sitting on a motorcycle drinking a shot, of course the officer is going to arrest him on suspicion. It's up the judicial system to decide on guilt or innocence. I don't know the laws of Jersey, but in many places you can be ticketed just for having an open container in your vehicle.

The numbers are encouraging. But epidemics usually follow Farr's Law. No matter what the conditions or precautions, there is a natural rise and fall to it. Once your reach the peak, the fall mimics the rise. There are often several peaks. The vaccine will break that pattern.

Weirdly, the Go-Gos are the only band that jumped out at me. They were fun, they had rock and roll spirit, they had a nice run.

Quotebob r WTF was that commercial all about...? So sick of Springsteen trying to be the voice and soul of America..... man what a bore. Selling jeeps now..... The guy is from the Jersey shore and he was trying to look like Clint Eastwood.. Also someone ought to tell him that new Marine haircut looks like crap. Do what you do best, play rock n roll music. Leave the rest to Woody Guthrie.

They needed a manager They operated in chaos for about 20 years until Mick got the right people around him. Keith, top. Of course some of their best work was done in chaos, so maybe not.

Quotejbwelda Yep nine year olds were pretty much its target audience, that is to say, those without any real life experience were easily swayed. And that crap about Altamont and the music dying, save it man. jb Hey! I was 10. Sadly, this song was my introduction to the Stones. For a little while there I thought Mick Jagger was the devil. LOL.

They might have found a better guitarist than Wood, or gone with rotating guitarists. But without him, they probably wouldn't have survived as a band.

QuoteNate Doom and gloom merchants should think very carefully about the damage they are doing to kids mental health in spreading negative nonsense and making ridiculous predictions that life as we knew it before is over. Nate Agreed. Older people often turn into pessimists. Young people need to hear from optimists. It is possible that bands of 70-year-old men might no longer be able to

Quotejbwelda ... I think perhaps you are forgetting that we are talking about an outfit that has been deeply dysfunctional for a very long time, even back from the sixties. So what seems logical to us may in fact be very anti-logical given the actual environment these guys were operating within. ... jb That describes the Stones very well, imo. Part of the reason they are so interesting. Out of

Okie is a great song.( I don't know how he meant it -- and I'm not sure Merle does, either! -- but it works on many levels. Yes, it's a redneck anthem, but it's also alt-ironical. And it can be both! I know many 'rednecks' who straddle both worlds. Also, American Southerners who are reasonably aware know they are looked down upon by coastal elites (and Europeans)

I think Mick used the names of Jeff Beck and the other great musicians to get attention and credibility but didn't plan to really tap into their talents. I get that he didn't want to create a new band because that would have really torpedoed the Stones. Would have been more upfront to hire a bunch of unknown, session men.

Maybe we should just all stay home. Watch the local lads play sports and go to the corner pub for music. Maybe this modern global travel is the true super spreader.

The reasons I say that lockdowns don't work are two: a) I look around and I see that people can't do them for very long. It's not our nature. b) Even the rare people who can lock themselves up for months must depend on others to work for them and expose themselves. For those who cannot work or are vulnerable, this is acceptable transfer of risk. But for healthy, working people it

Quotejbwelda Overproduced muck with incredibly muddy sound and instruments colliding with each other masquerading as something special. When the car AM radio hit the skids as the most common denominator for music reproduction, so did the Wall of Sound sound. Thats what he produced for, long after that was viable. And I doubt anyone is going to say about Phil what they put on his pop's gra

QuoteGasLightStreet That's a bit skewed and unhealthy. It's also unnecessary fake drama. Do you know anyone that's had COVID? I do. Long term isolation isn't anything like getting COVID and having the true dangers of mutilated internal organs or death. Seeing people one knows have not been exposed because of limited socializing is not part of "the dangers of longeterm

Lockdowns are impossible for most people over extended periods, for reasons of human nature, the necessity to earn money and the realization by many people that their personal risks are very low. I encourage my young adult children to have people they can see because the dangers of longterm isolation are greater than Covid.

Re: Japan My brother is a teacher there. He says that on one hand, the people tend to wear masks and act in unison. On the other hand, the post-WW2 constitution forbids any type of government-ordered lockdown. The schools have stayed open throughout. You could say the virus is a first-world or modern virus is that it mainly kills older people or people with cardio/lung issues. A hundred years

QuoteRocknroll1969 As of January 15, 2021 the United States has 4 percent of the worlds population but 24 percent of the coronavirus cases. The US also had 20 percent of the worlds coronavirus deaths. Is the US a third world country? Many people in the US don’t even wear masks. If I really speak my mind the post would be removed. This is total failure and an a embarrassment. The UK, Italy, Spa

I'd like to see them turn distribution over to the private sector. Especially here in the U.S. government agencies can't handle a project this big. Also I think you'll get more vaccination coverage if you open it up to the general public right away.

I'm sorry to see the situation has deteriorated in Ireland, Germany and California. For a while they were held up as doing things the right way. It seems the virus can only be dampened down for so long; eventually it catches fire. Here in Michigan the vaccine rollout is going very slowly. I hope the new president creates some urgency and finds new avenues for distribution. The current metho

I think they all just communicated by saying things like, 'let's try that a different way,' and then exchanging looks to communicate if they liked it or not. As Bill's Astrid wrote, they are not confrontational people, being proper reserved Englishmen.
