I guess if Simon Wright is in for this performance, it means the band may have definitively decided that Phil is out. If Phil is definitely out, I'd rather they go with Simon and Chris Slade than an entirely new drummer.

It's my understanding that since late 1962, Paul McCartney has always owned 25% of Northern Songs, which is now part of Sony's catalog. Brian Epstein worked with well known English publisher Dick James to have Northern Songs set up and the ownership was 50 % to Dick James, 25% to John Lennon and 25% to Paul McCartney. As a result, John and Paul earned money both as minority owners of th

Quoteandrea66 QuoteHalup Pollstar is now showing Lisa Fischer solo dates on June 27th in Palo Alto, CA and August 5th in Los Angeles. This pretty much eliminates the Stones from playing in June, as she has Australian dates listed from June 11-14. Of course if the Stones touring plans change, she could cancel or postpone these shows.. A.

QuoteNaturalust If even George W. Bush can see the value in what the organizations that Bono is part of, maybe you can as well. Most Americans I know are pretty distrusting of anything associated with our ex-President, so your assertion seems a bit counter productive. As far as Bono's charity and philanthropic work are concerned, I applaud him for what he's done and respect that h

QuoteJ-J-Flash Bono does charity work? If you consider talking at concerts and mocking people who don't have the same beliefs as him than ok. Friends of mine saw u2 a few years ago, you couldn't pay may to go see this ass, and they said he talked for sometimes up to 20 minutes in between songs about politics and was spitting on the stage the whole time to prove a point. Have also heard

Quotemighty stork Quotewindmelody Sorry, I have never been a U2 fan, but where is the point in joking about someone who has had an accident and may not be abled to do something he always liked very much anymore? Ahhhh but at least you realize that we were joking. True the crash did cause serious injury to Bono but his comments about his guitar playing I think set this off. He's not exactly

QuoteLieB For what it's worth, here is what is written in The Rolling Stones – A Visual Documentary by Miles (Omnibus Press 1994): July 7: Mick, Keith, Marianne, Anita and Jimmy Miller fly to Los Angeles. Mick and producer Jimmy Miller are so dissatisfied with the mix done in London on 'Beggars Banquet' that they called in Glyn Johns to re-do it in Los Angeles and flew in mid-Ju

Quotedcba Quotekeefriff99 And are you seriously suggesting Keith ISN'T a one-trick pony who took Chuck Berry and Ry Cooder for everything they were worth (his words)? Please. Face it : U2 is a BIG band simply because they had a clever manager (McGuiness) and a sinegr with an oversized ego. Without these two, U2 would be a small band with a following covering Ireland. While the 2

Quotebuttons67 cant believe its 34 years. the frightening thing was, that if he didnt get him that night, he would have got him the next day, he admitted as such. john would have had no chance of escaping this crazed excuse for a human being. He had been in New York a couple weeks earlier from what I understand and couldn't bring himself to do it. I think he also considered doing it a day

Quote1cdog Well, I don't hate them. I have just never liked their music. Any word yet on how many and who the hidden musicians will be on this touR? It should just be the usual guy Terry Lawless occasionally on keyboards when The Edge isn't doing it.

If they go in order of how these concerts were released as downloads, then Tokyo 90 would be next, followed by Toronto 05 and Leeds 82. Brussels 73 was the first download, but there may not be a From The Vault release of it as they still have those expensive box sets to get rid of and apparently there is little video footage from it. Hampton and L.A were the second and third downloads, so they ma

Another sad loss in the music world. Unfortunately it's going to keep going on as all of these great musicians get into their 60s and older. I still had hopes that the Faces reunion with Rod would happen eventually, but it wasn't to be. I feel fortunate though that I did get to see Ronnie and Mac play a few songs with Rod at the Hollywood Bowl in 2004.

Quotekowalski The unsigned box set which was at 750$ is now selling for 299$. Still only 3 vinyl inside though... I've seen one of these in person that contained the 2 CDs along with everything else. Do you know if there are some that had the CDs while others didn't? $299 was the price I saw for this when I saw it "used" in a store.

RIP Bobby. I had the chance to meet him a couple of times and he was a very nice guy. I recall last week seeing that Sam Cutler had posted that he heard Bobby was unwell, but I had hoped it wasn't this serious.

Speaking of Lennon, he was apparently the source of some of the Beatles bootlegs that came out in the 70s. Sometime around 1974 or so, he supposedly started trading tapes with New York collectors. He wanted to get live Beatles recordings for his own collection and I believe he traded them some of the studio tapes he had for their live tapes.

I just saw on Pollstar that Lisa Fischer added solo dates in Adelaide, Australia on June 13-14. I assume she will add other Australian dates, so that may eliminate most or all of June from any possible Stones shows.

These shows have ranged in audience size from around 450 at the Echoplex last year up to 1.5 million in Rio in 2006. My biggest regret, though, is missing the entire Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle tour.

Here is from what Newsday reported on the first Brooklyn show: NEWSDAY Paul McCartney amazes at Barclays Center Paul McCartney is always up for a challenge. His two-hour-and-40-minute set was also a model of efficiency, barely breaking between songs for more than a few words of banter or a quick story. As Macca took off his waistcoat early in the show, he declared, “That is the big

And I was at the Brooklyn show last year and he didn't go on stage at 8pm like you are claiming. He went on stage after 9pm, more like 9:15 and was off at 11:30pm. His lead in video didn't even start until 8:45p
