vox12string, I think that you are not in right. It is true that Minidisc use ATRAC compression but it is not true that ATRAC is far away of CD quality. Here is link and you can make comparation with DAT. ATRAC is 292 Kbit/sec compresion with superior algoritam which as product give recording near CD quality.DAT is very expensive for tapers and biger size, so it is not common for taping shows.

I can understund mixing if you have multitrack recordings of that show, but making mixing of audience recording, no comment. All we can do, it is to find low generation tapes and transfer with best possible equpipment on CD.

What is factory printed CD-r?it is blank CD-R (usually not hi quality media) which labels print on factory screen print machine.Later burned on CD replication machine on very high speed, so not promise long life of that CD-r Many sellers selling original Japanese CD's on German ebay site.
