There is no chance that Keith or Mick would say to Ron you play the intro in case Keith @#$%& it up

I didnt forget those at all but on this album Keith seems to be doing less than ever before. As on stage in the last few tours Ron is doing more and Keith less . Usually on record it's easy to tell who is playing what, but not this time. Is this because Keith is buried in the mix ? Well that's a first ! Is it the mixers fault ? Maybe , but I have never found it harder to hear and disti

For the first time ever Ron is the dominant guitarist and Keith is second fiddle with one short solo. Enough with the harmonica , more guitar solos please

This album must have the least Keith I have ever heard , and for the first Time ever I am hearing Ron out of both channels . The separation of the guitars, Ron on left Keith on right seems to have gone , with Ron dominating on both channels , or am I deaf , and one short Keith solo ! That's it ! Very unusual.

I reckon they are a rock and roll band . To me a rock and roll band plays lots of 12 bar songs ( the stones do !), lots of tinkling piano or sqwauking sax and horns , ( the stones do ! ) tasteful guitar solos (the stones do !) as opposed to a rock band that typically has screaming vocals ( the stones don't !), or very overdriven guitars ( the stones generally play cleaner) and squawking fast

Firstly. I love bob Dylan but. I have seen him 8 times in the last 15 years in Australia and abroad and each show its the same , he starts a song , the audience is bewildered , then a minute or so in they applaud when they finally figure out what song he is playing. Another was Bruce Springsteen in Melbourne about 2004 , 4 guitarists on stage all chopping wood, no solos at all, then du

Does mick look down on Robert plant like Keith does ? , didn't he call Robert and John Bonham " a couple of ernies from up north " . Were mick and Robert plant ever close ?

Keith does miss something in that intro but whether they collided or not it's hard to tell but they came close ,and both had a good glare at each other and mick seemed to give a huge WTF look as if to say watch out you nearly took my head off swinging that guitar !

Was it Chet Flippo who said in 1978 or 81 " I would rather see the stones on a bad night than Bruce Springsteen on a good night ". I have to agree . I saw Bruce live in Melbourne early 2,000s . A 3 hour show sure, but dull , 4 guitarists but not one guitar solo all night. And during a singalong Bruce berated the crowd for their lacklustre efforts , and the crowd booed ! Good times

I agree with rollinfreak . I don't care about vinyl. It was great in the 70's because that's all we had . But today, are you telling me I have to get off the couch every 15 - 20 minutes to turn the record over, or if it's a single get up every 3 minutes. Forget about it. They get scratched , dropped , friends handle them roughly, and don't put them back in their sleev

I can't believe Star Star isn't in the rotation more often. Chuck berry licks for Keith and a chorus begging for audience participation for mick. They should play it every nite When was it last played ? Not in the last 10 years I reckon

Anybody seen my baby for the song vote. What a stinker ! Surely not . It will mever happen. Surely not. Was it a hit in Chile ? Did they rehearse it ? Has a Vegas years song like this ever won a fan vote ? Maybe KD Lang will come out and guest on it !

The stones do a great version of MTH on the Hawaii 1966 bootleg. It's on YouTube! Live it rocks . Similar live feel as paint it black to me . That Hawaii 66 bootleg is a great example, with very good sound , of a typical 1966 show. Lots of Brian in the mix too!

Angie a filler ? I don't think so. Filler , the word , is ridiculous . Its someone's opinion a song is liked or worth hearing or not. Whether it was recorded at the end of a session to "fill" an album or someone doesn't like it so it's called filler. This thread is bugging me . how about a new thread, titled stones songs I don't like and those I do . I wi

Their most filler "song " has to be "we want the stones" composed by nanker phelge ! It's not even a song. Now that's filler !

It's been said more eloquently by others than me but it's too subjective beauty is in the eye of the beholder I love hand of fate and the guitar solo is superb , and too tight I really like . Stones by numbers but it's the stones being the stones Maybe their first album is the most filler free. Everything brand new and let's put our very best efforts out there , the oppo

This thread should be titled " what stones album is your most "least favourite song" free". so yeah Filler is a tough one but all these discussions are subjective Short and curlies is often mentioned in the same sentence as filler but I like it and would be good to hear live . My least favourite off that album would be AInt to proud to beg , but what would I know. Or

How are they sounding artificial 24 FPS in 75/76. I feel they are at their most real being sleazy and wasted on and off stage . Also the Vegas years definitely start in 1989. The Vegas years can't start in 75/76 because 78 was maybe their most stripped back tour since 1969 so they can't be Vegas and then not and then Vegas again later , or can you !

I have loved this album allways. What's not to like ? The audience is a bit loud maybe , but that's my beef with all live albums. . Honky took woman with an extended intro is a great opener . Fanfare for the comman Man is a great , well , fanfare and really builds the suspense for the main event . The band is cooking with a great guitar sound . And side 4 is the ultimate party starte

Did these December recording sessions even occur ? No one has seen anyone come out of a studio ? No news leaks from a studio janitor ? In the recent past they have tweeted some photo of a smiling group . And now the non answer to a direct question about recording. I hope something did happen , I guess they are great at keeping a low profile

I am in awe of jimmy page but walking thru clarksdale I thought was atrocious. I played it thru once and that was enough. But I loved Coverdale page and thought that was a great pairing that could have lasted, but Robert rang with an mtv offer and that was that ! Also outrider is an underrated album of jimmys .

I love this DVD and cd. 2 great soundboard shows . A bit sloppy sometimes, I couldn't care , it's the STONES. I like it all I love Keith and rons fantastic guitar tone / sound for this and the 76 tour. Perhaps my favourite guitar sound for the stones of all time ! Certainly the guitars never sounded as dirty again I think. Also I always felt olllie brown wasn't needed , i want
