You can buy a decent starter turntable for around $100 but you do want an upgraded stylus You should also get some new speakers; I'm not a fan of Bose on the low range for vinyl at all.... If you don't want to make too big an investment to start, just go with the turntable above (and upgraded stylus) and pick up any one of the recent Stones re-issues and see what you think;

Like probably most of the folks on here I grew up with vinyl and have a huge collection; A lot of the modern re-issues sound great tho many are mastered from the same source as the CD; Where you will benefit is with a lot of older vinyl that was mastered pre 80s Back then albums were mastered specifically for vinyl and thats the way they will always sound the best. I've been buying vinyl since the late 70s and have never had a record 'wear out' on me. I will tell you that there are some major variations in pressings on the albums; The original pressings are usually first class but be wary of some of the re-pressings, especially in the early 80s. For whatever reason, I have accumulated several pressings of most of the Stones 'classic�
