For me, this pic sheds much light on what Keith is dealing with regarding the mobility of his fingers. The other guys can give “the finger” with obvious ease. Not so for Keith. I assume he was trying his best, as he’s serving up the proper “FU” face, but it appears as if the fingers just won’t cooperate. Makes me admire all the more what he’s still able to do with them in 2014. He's got

According to the Victor Bockris bio of KR, this Chicago appearance was filmed Dec. 28 1992. However, the uploader indicates a date of March 1993. Don't know the venue (TV studio, perhaps?). More from that appearance: I don't think if was filmed at the Aragon - that is a fancy historical theater and doesn't, IMO, resemble the venue shown in the vids Aragon

QuoteDandelionPowderman Both those songs are perfection. Clearly among the best tunes they ever recorded. That's probably why they didn't see the need for extended guitar solos on them. That goes for most of Exile, btw, it's an album where the songs are more important than the flashy parts. Couldn't agree more. Was going to post a similar thought, but you said it much bet

QuoteRockman The first version of Shop Around released in late September 1960 was a slower blues like number until some two weeks later in mid October when Berry Gordy contacted Smokey and commandeered them all back into the studio in the middle of the night to recut it as a more up-tempo number .... This second version went ta be Motown's first million seller Do you mean this one?

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteGasLightStreet QuotePlink I first heard both of the outtakes below in the '80s and have loved them ever since. They're cover tunes. I have no clue why it was decided that Keith should re-record the vocal for "We Had It All" for the SG Deluxe. He did a great job re-creating it, but the original was perfect all along. That's not a new vocal. T

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuotePlink The official Exile version of Loving Cup is great, but I think this earlier version is even better. I don't have time to listen right now, but is this a version which includes Mick Taylor as well? I'm not a Stones scholar, but I believe so. It's from 1969, Sticky Fingers sessions. The youtube video has the following description: "Mic

I like the photo, it nicely captures "feel" of the band in live performance during that era. However, IMO, unless you have a version of this in much higher resolution, I don’t believe it will enlarge to 18x24 with any success. As your wife pointed out, it's already blurry, and enlarging it greatly will only make it look much blurrier.

Quotestonehearted Here's one of Mick and Keith from the Undercover era. Looks like the Glimmers were doing their take on a “Harlequin Romance” novel cover, all puckered up and glistening w/ orange-y “Man Tan”. Methinks Mick just ripped Keith’s “bodice”, too . Steamy (and cheesy) stuff - eat yer heart out, Fabio! I also see it was a bit nippy in the photo studio that day

Quotekeefriffhard4life ...ray davies book so far was the easiest read of the 4 musician books i picked up this year. maybe its because he's a much better song writer or because he set the book up more like an actual story and less like a history of details and events Which Ray Davies book are you referring to - X-Ray or Americana?
