Quoterumple21 So young white-boy Michael J Fox invented the Chuck Berry sound ... oh dear issues issues issues! That's a bit unfair. The whole scene in the movie is tongue in cheek and in no way detracts any credit from Chuck Berry's. Fox no more "invents" the Chuck Berry sound than The Rolling Stones (or The Beatles) did when they covered the songs. Every time I see

Here's a GOOD example of Bill's autograph (I did a Google search for 'Bill Wyman Autograph' and got lots of examples) Judge for yourself how like/unlike your sample it is.

Quotejammingedward You will be able to get a bus to and from Melbourne city centre to Hanging Rock easily and cheaply. They will be selling bus tickets on ticketmaster. Hanging Rock and Rod Laver are easily the two best venues on the tour. Also Melbourne is the closest city to Adelaide. Try and make those shows if you can!! A good place to start is . Read what's there. That wil

QuoteDeathgod QuoteNate Hi Folks I would very much like to come down under from London so looking for a ticket would consider any show but I'd really love to do Sydney as I used to live there when I was a bambino, if anyone has a spare ticket or knows where I might be able to score one please let me know. Thanks Adelaide will be an amazing show. Melbourne, Sydney and Brisba

QuoteIrix QuoteSKILLS Believe me, it's really only the Stones that matter, but allow us to be a tad greedy, we only get them 6 times in 50 years 3 before i could walk Is this the reason why AUS/NZ with total only 27.5 mill. inhabitants gets 9 shows, while US/CAN (352 mill. inhabitants) got last year 18 shows and Europe (12 Tour-countries, total 326 mill. inhabitants) gets only 14 sh

QuoteAquamarine Surprised to see first reactions being responses to the support acts (who cares, to be honest? I don't think there are any opening bands at most of the Europe gigs, which is fine with me). You've got all the gigs rescheduled plus two new ones, surely that's great news? Stadium shows don't have support acts. The anxiety is over the longer outdoor shows.

Worth noting that the interview referred to in the immediately previous posting (Brian Jones/KRLA) is from this remarkable archive It's scanned and searcheable copies of a 1960's pop newspaper from California, and once you start reading you'll be hooked! Lots of Stones in there...

QuoteMacnee2 Local tradition says it should have been Cold Chisel. Failing that then lead singer Jimmy Barnes. 57 but still an unnaturally superb rock/soul/blues singer. Did a couple of tunes recently with Joe Bonamassa on Joe's album. I hope, and pray, that this is nothing more than idle speculation in your head! He supported Springsteen at Hanging Rock last year and he was AWFUL. He m

QuoteDeathgod I was thinking 30 Second To Mars in Adelaide. As a thank you for 30 Seconds bumping their Rod Laver gig to Hisense for the Stones I hope, and pray, that this is nothing more than idle speculation in your head! I read some reviews of the 'bumped' show and they had to be among the worst reviews I've ever seen.

QuoteMontrealsuperfan Strange- the only communication I got from Viagogo in response to an e-mail was that they are "unable to offer a refund" as the show has been "postponed not cancelled". Obviously coming from Canada to Melbourne is a hell of a trek so I would prefer to get my $ back and start over again. Anyone have any advice. Check their Terms & Conditions. Lo

QuoteThe Joker QuoteCaptainCorella I had rather hoped that when the shows were postponed that the fraudulent mis-representation that is Viagogo would take a hammering. Sadly it turns out that someone who "bought" a ticket through Viagogo and chooses to go for a refund because they cannot get to a rearranged date, gets a full refund from Viagogo for the price paid for the ticket(s

QuoteGazza There were, I'm sure, some unsold tickets for some shows at the date the gigs were postponed. Additionally, a sizeable number of tickets will have been returned as some buyers wont be able to make the rescheduled dates so those tickets will have to be re-offered again. THOSE tickets may take a bit longer to become available again, though. The real losers from this will b

QuoteTheGreek little red rooster with clapton in atlantic city(with the stones) 1989 pay per view was the best !!!!!!!! If you watch the video of this performance, check out the look of appreciation that Jagger gives Clapton as he (Jagger) moves forward to resume singing. Great version. Two things to add to the thread. My oldest vinyl version (pre-Stones) called it "The Red Rooste

Quotestonehearted For Ian Stewart, 1962-1963 as an official full band member. His tenure was cut short once Andrew Loog Oldham became their manager during the first half of 1963. Stones of 1963 with.... ....and without Ian Stewart. Stu was always a band member - right up to Dec 12th 1985. He was not in the on-stage line-up, but he was a member of The Rolling Stones.

QuoteDeathgod I'm sure time heals, and by Nov Hanging Rock could just be a venue name, with little connotation about the sad event Mick suffered. Could be wrong tho! As I've posted in the Melbourne thread, the name is simply an awful co-incidence. The thing that's hanging not far from where I'm sitting is a ROCK. This is it It's a huge rock that's hanging

There's an interesting complication to do with the (re-)scheduling of the Hanging Rock show - if indeed it's not considered too sensitive a name of a place to have a show. The Promoter's initial licence for shows runs out on October 31st. But shows are BANNED from April 1st to October 31st due the the breeding season of a rare type of owl. So that means that the promoter h

QuoteOzHeavyThrobber Is it true McCartney recorded the sole existing audio of the 100 Club show? Yes, that's true. Because it was a very special tribute night for Stu the Stones were, I am assuming, tight on the soundboard guys and made sure that no recordings leaked. But if you read Keith Badman's book (The Beatles After The Breakup - 1970-2000) and look at the entry for t

You need to buy a MYKI card (from a machine outside most train stations – t

Obviously the whole thing will have to be fitted in around the dates already announced for the European tour - ie Late May to Early July. Who knows if there's a USA leg to fit in somewhere. As far as Australia/NZ are concerned the general view appears to be that they cannot re-schedule until after the AFL season which ends in September (I think!). But, in my view, that's a fac
