For all of those who will be celebrating this holiday tomorrow, have a wonderful day with family, friends, lots of food, parades and, of course, football games. For the rest of you, just have a great day. If you're travelling today, please be careful, as the weather is going to be nasty especially here in NYS and the Eastern Coastline.

Very sad news, indeed. 71 is too young to die. Just bought The Best of Cream cd which I thoroughly enjoy. But for awhile, at least, I may not want to listen to it

Not a very good year for celebrities and entertainers. So many have passed away...more than usual it seems. Very sad news. The first and only time I've seen Primal Scream was on tv. They were at Glastonbury. The Haim sisters were singing backup vocals. It was a good show.

His passing makes me very sad. The more I read about him, the more I realize what a special person he was. He truly had a heart of gold. I knew he had his troubles with depression and substances, but I never knew how severe his problems were...not too mention the newly-diagnosed Parkinsons Disease. Total despair for him. Yesterday, I read the articles about him in Time Magazine...just never

I subscribed to it last year after a long hiatus of even reading the magazine. But I don't think I'll be renewing it. Just not that impressed with it as I once was.

Quotehuricane I read this article yesterday. It's not the first time I've heard that he was calling it quits. After reading all of these posts, boring is not a word that I would ever use to describe him. Definitely has a laid-back style and who knows for sure what happened at his Glasgow show. I think the man is just tired; no longer has the fire in his belly..for touring and p

Probably many of you have already seen this documentary on B.B. King...if you haven't, it's currently on Movies on Demand here in the US. It's absolutely wonderful. Tons of great music and interviews (inluding MT, Keith, and Bill from the Stones), Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy and many, many more. B.B. is truly a legend in his own time. Thankfully he's still with u

Well, I am very proud of the US team,...it was a great game. Wish we could have stayed in the games a bit longer. I'm not really a sports fan of any kind of sport, really. I enjoy watching football on occasion..usually it's the British teams (Premier League?). Anyway, I should start following the teams here at home. We are getting better and the sport is becoming hugely popular!

QuotePlink QuoteBellajane Maybe it's Jagger's influence or even his wife? I don't know..never thought Keith needed to be dressed by a fashion house of all things. It's so un-rock-n-roll. I loved the pink flowered shirt he wore in the recording of Brown Sugar video at Muscle Shoals 1969. It was vintage Keith. The fashion house relationship is perplexing, which is why I t

QuotePlink QuoteBellajane Sometimes his outfits can be a bit over-the- top, but I always loved the way Keith dresses. Possibly I like his outfits the best except for Mick Taylor's shirts back-in-the day (they were awesome). Always thought Keith's style was a bit like shabby chic meets rock star ...he carries it off so well and effortlessly. I felt sorry for him in the Australian 1973 T

QuoteLieB QuoteDoomandGloom I was there... The DVD does not tell the entire story as the British musicians were more stoned than at any other concert I've ever witnessed including The New Barbarians at MSG . At one point John McVie threw his bass to the ground for some crazy reason, you can see in the video there's another bassist with Mayall for some songs. Taylor stared at his guita

Does anyone remember Oracle Paul the Octopus (from the Sea Life Center in Germany) who made several correct results predictions in the 2010 World Cup? He even predicted Spain's win over Germany in the final. He was quite a hit at the time..awfully cute..well, for an octopus. Poor little thing passed away in 2010.

Well, this topic isn't 100% OT as Mick Jagger was featured for a micro-second shaking Ed Sullivan's hand. Also, Jimi Hendrix was shown on the Dick Cavett show..kind of an odd coupling! Anyway, this is a 10-part documentary series featured weekly on CNN. It's fascinating stuff. I've already watched the first 2 episodes on TV Coming of Age and The World on the Brink. I missed

Well, be that as it may, we all can agree that he acted inappropriately by posting that photo. Whatever..what's done is done. I don't think any kids got hurt along the way. What I meant in my earlier post, is that we've all been angry and hurt, and may have said things and behaved in a manner that we very soon regretted. I always enjoyed HM's posts and photos (except the i

I doubt they did. Most of them (the musicians) didn't think they would make it to the age of 40, much less performing. It's quite a phenomenom these "classic" rockers and blues musicians performing well into their 70's and 80's even. Grace Slick once said that they never thought they would ever get old. That's a pretty common mindset when you're very you

I think it's gone far beyond tabloid speculation. A picture speaks a 1,000 words doesn't it? He lacks discretion, that's the real shame. I feel sorry for L'Wren, she was a talented, beautiful woman.

That is good news indeed!! Now let's hope that HM reconsiders. I know that the picture he posted was a bit grotesque and not appropriate for this forum (we know the rules). I mean we are Rolling Stones fans..was anyone truly offended? It was shockingly funny. He was truly hurt and pissed off and acted in haste. We've all been there before.

Quotekleermaker Anyway, I quit. You guys have fun. I'm done with the recent Rolling Stones, those living Madame Tussaud dolls. As uninteresting as the squirrel in my backyard, to quote someone up here. Besides it's a lot of bullshit talk and no proper, interesting, inspiring and reasonable discussion anymore. A big goodbye kiss to His Majesty and all the best to StonesCat, Doxa and
