Terrible news...Italy really has suffered this year. I keep thinking about that beautiful picture postcard village that was destroyed. I'm glad there are survivors. When I was watching the news last night they feared that everyone perished.

Very sad news and so sudden. When I heard that she had a massive heart attack and went into cardiac arrest, I really didn't hold out much hope for her survival, unfortunately. She was an icon from my childhood plus her movie career was getting a jump start with the new Star War movies. Apparently, she's in the next installment (to be released December 2017) quite a bit. RIP Prin

I was going to post something about Westworld..glad I saw this post first. Paint it Black was a very pretty orchestral version. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard it. Westworld is very intriguing to say the least. Can't wait to watch the new episode this evening.

I am sorry to hear about many individuals being on the receiving end of vicious racist remarks and behavior. It's a knee- jerk reaction from..well..from jerks, really. Certainly this type of response is not limited to the UK. We saw it over here in the US right after 911. Just about anyone that had a swarthy complexion were thought to be Muslims. Even the Sikhs were attacked; deadly atta

Since just about everything is in a state of flux (chaos really) at the moment, could there possibly be a recount of the votes or is it a done deal at this point? Could there be a new referendum in the future? I just read online that the EU wants the "divorce" over like yesterday. Can Britain make such a hasty exit? I thought it would take at least a couple of years to make the t

Actually, I'm surprised by the result. I know the UK was split right down the middle regarding this issue, but I thought it would remain in the EU. Not really sure what I think about all of this...how can I begin to judge...in my country (US) the government, politics, presidential race is nothing but a 3-ring circus. Very discouraging. Trump is in Scotland right now..lucky you! You guys c

R.I.P. Rest In Purple was on the VH1 Classic Channel. Watched Purple Rain yesterday. The fashion is a bit outdated, but the music was great. Another sad loss..wonder what happened to him? There is a picture of Prince on his bicycle just the day before..so who knows. Hope it was quick and he didn't suffer. His death brings back sort of a happy/sad memory. Many years ago when I was

Not another one...who's next I wonder?? I know death is part of life, but many of these "elder statesmen/women of the blues and rock 'n roll" are dying too young. Except for B.B. King. I know...if you're in your twenties, anyone over 40 is considered ancient. Plus, many of these rockers jokingly said in their younger days that they didn't expect to live until 40 ei

Then there were the 2 keyboard players Carla Bley and Ron? somebody. Real good group. That guy "Ron" was really angry when Mick quit. I mean he just split..no goodbyes..just called Bruce's manager to say he was quitting. Jack Bruce was so upset by this that he had to take a year off to recover. Or so the story goes. I guess it's difficult for people with certain habit(s)

Yes drugs were a big,if not the biggest problem. Supposedly before the tour, Mick and Jack went to Jamaica to get clean but, as the story goes, Mick's wife greeted them there with a bag full of drugs. Who knows if that part was true, but the drug abuse was. Carla Bley talked about the drug dealers hanging around the hotels where they were staying when they toured Europe. Maybe Taylor didn

I believe I have that cd. Have to check, haven't played it in awhile. It's very good, though. That band was super-talented..it's too bad things just didn't work out. In Jack Bruce's biography, Carla Bley talks about a few incidents that happened behind the scenes between Mick and Jack. Egos clashing, frustrations. I feel that Carla understood Mick Taylor and knew whe

I'm just curious how history will remember him. Years from now, not in our lifetime. Just in general really, of that era, what will his place be in the pantheon of great guitarists? Hendrix, a god, for sure. Whether you agree or not, I know Clapton has been called a legend, etc. There are so many others, of course. Notwithstanding his association with the Stones, I'm afraid Taylor ma

Not entirely OT as a couple of Robert Johnson tunes were played in Episode 3. This is a mystery involving child abduction currently airing in the US and Britain (possibly elsewhere?). It's a super good series, so try to watch it. The "gentleman" that loved the blues in Episode 3, is very dangerous and deceitful IMO...so, be sure to keep the little kids away from him. I think th
