Speaking of Charlie, I rode down in an elevator with him in Boston at the Four Seasons when they opened there for the 2005 tour. I had friends staying at the hotel and they invited me over for drinks. Another funny story that one… anyway as I left the room to go back to my hotel I pushed the button on the elevator to go down to the lobby. The door opens and there standing with his granddaughter w

Quotemickschix To ignore the impact of Covid, and especially the new Delta variant is beyond foolish...honestly, I agree with the person who said NO SHOW is worth risking getting that sick & injuring your lungs and who knows what else permanently. I pointed out in another thread that Vegas is LOADED with Delta/Covid...I worry that if these shows go on, some member of the crew/roadies will cat

I recently purchased the Okki Nokki One RCM. So far I have had fantastic results cleaning records. Ease of setup, simple operation, and thoroughly clean vinyl records. Cleaning solution, goat hair brush, and Vacuum work like a champ, leaving records almost completely dry except for a small solution line near the outside of the labelthat is easily toweled off. For example my Stones record collect

While I wasn't at the Olympia show, the video certainly brought back great memories of what went down on that 69 tour which remains my favorite. It was all so fresh and exciting given the fact they had not played for a few years, Brian had passed, and tracks from LIB were being presented prior to the album being released. I still marvel at how incredible it was that the Stones had this feel

Quotejohn lomax Quotefilstan Good shots Rockman! Thanks for posting. Was this this concert where Keith and Bobby were supposedly tripping? Didn't Keith talk about this in "Life"? The one where they were tripping was the Randwick Racecourae gig. There are hardly any photos of this gig, and the ones I have seen have been black and white and fairly blurry. Would love to see more pho

The 75 tour was more in the entertainment vein than previous tours. Lotus stage, inflatable phallus etc. Music though was really good, although I did not like Billy Preston getting the spotlight. It was unusual at that time to see the Rolling Stones as a backing band for another front man. Ronnie filled in admirably. Both Chicago Stadium shows I attended were excellent as was the Ft Collins Colo

Ironically, I spun this album last night along with Long Player. A most excellent debut album to launch this band on vinyl. I strongly recommend purchasing the 2015 box set Faces 1970-1975: You Can Make Me Dance You Can Make Me Sing Or Anything where First Step is included. The CD set sounds really good and the vinyl simply superb that was remastered by Kevin Gray from original analog flat master

QuoteTaylor1 QuoteSilver Dagger Honky Tonk Women as an opener on the 75/76 tours with that dramatic, toppy, long intro that really got the crowd going. . The 1975 ones are my favorite with the Fanfare for the Common Man opener and the stage opening up to the song I'll toss my vote in with the 75 tour opener. I saw 2 shows at Chicago Stadium and again at the outdoor

Apart from the studio recording which I have always loved, the live versions from the 69-70 tours were my always my favorites. I have felt since then that the tempo got speeded up too much. This awesome Paris 1970 video is a great rendition.

As much as I am a long time Ron Wood fan, this film was very disappointing in that it left out so very much. It was not worth the rental price imo, and I can only recommend fans to reconsider shelling out the money for such a thin and insufficient project. Compare for example the brilliant Ronnie Lane documentary The Passing Show. Ronnie Wood's life deserves much more than this superficial v

I think it ended up being a fun spontaneous exercise for the Stones once it took hold. It's still a good album, yet I was disappointed initially and remain so regarding how it sounds. It is as though all the modern studio technology at the disposal to Don Was somehow used to make a recording that comes off as compressed and over produced and lacking a more natural sound reproduction. Played

The double LP's sound really good. The vinyl is quiet and my copies are flat. Overall, this project is a success for me at least from a listening standpoint. I always thought the mix on the initial release was kind of muddy. The new offering has the vocals and instruments in what seems to be greater detail than we are accustomed to on this album. I am hearing nuances that I don't get fr

Some really great comments towards the amazing talent that was Peter Green in his prime. A truly gifted player that let the guitar translate his personal joy and in particular his deep inner blues. A powerful blues guitar player that created notes that could bring tears. His heartfelt vocals were awesome too. What a band the Greeny led Mac was! Wow, I’m so sad to hear he’s gone yet it did not see
