Quotepeoplewitheyes Hate to be negative, but the title and artwork are dreadful! They ALWAYS are. ( but the music inside usually makes up for it )

QuoteBoognish Quotekeefriff99 Did Buddy ever PRAISE any other drummers, especially anyone outside of jazz? That's the real question. Pentti "Whitey" Glan was a family friend (and my favourite drummer), he played with Lou Reed, Alice Cooper and a shit ton of others, and he once said that Buddy Rich complimented his drumming on one of his Tonight Show appearances. I LOVE Pennti Gl

I agree that this record is waaaaay over-rated. I blame Paul McCartney who has said he was bowled over by the "sound" of the record. I have to think that he was talking about the harmonies, multi-tracking etc. and not the songs per se. He's also said that after hearing Pet Sounds he knew The Beatles had to up their game with their next record which turned out to be Sgt. Pepper. Obv

I've loved Neil Young for years. Recently I have him on heavy rotation on my Pandora. What I've come to realize after listening to Neil for an extended period of time is that as often as he plays harmonica on his songs he is actually a TERRIBLE harmonica player. He only knows 3 or 4 notes on the harmonica and he plays them in pretty much the same way every time. If you listen to anyone

Sweet post MAYO (or hopkins?) Keep up the good work. There are a lot of up-tight old farts on this site who think they run things (sort of like CNN) when actually they don't run crap. It's time to rattle some cages and institute some Rock-n- Roll Socialism. Power to the People Mofos !

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band ROCKS! I wonder what ever happened to him/them. Did he pass away?

Yeah, I am considering seeing him in Austin, Texas at the ACL Moody Theatre. BUT between his noticeably deteriorated voice, the ABSURDLY high ticket prices, having seen Roxy in NYC at their peak and this not actually being Roxy Music and my advanced age I will probably pass.

I never understood the hate for "Don't Stop". It's a well-crafted song. Pure Pop perfection. The video is pretty sweet too. If they could write new tunes like this again I'd be quite satisfied.

There is a very simple solution to this much discussed "creativity" problem : Ghostwriters The glimmers could set aside their pride and pay professionals to write new songs and pay them to put Jagger/Richards on them. This is done a lot more than you might imagine in the music business. There are literally thousands of starving song-writers out there. Everyone has his price.

QuotePaddy I am travelling down from Canada for this gig What’s the craic with weed in Houston, legal or hard to get? Every gig is the same 1) hotel 2) ticket 3) where can I get weed I’m keeping an eye out so I can hit a gig the night before, but nothing listed yet. Any good local bands in Houston worth checking out? Lived in Houston for 30 years. Weed is illegal and hard to get if you don

The deficit needs to be paid... Actually it doesn't. And in fact it never will. That the "deficit" needs to be "paid" is a myth perpetually used by the party out of power.

I've found that the best songs and lyrics come when you stay up very late, to the point of exhaustion, and are a little drunk (or stoned). The good stuff just spills out when you're in that dream-like state. Trying to write songs straight and in the daytime is fruitless. Just sayin'. AND you've got waaaaaay too many words in there. You easily could cut out half of them and the

QuoteHairball QuoteKRiffhard It's so confusing, I don't know who to believe!! From "almost finished/finished album" to "loose jams/raw demos"... Bungo and others...i think you have to recall your sources! Wasn't Bungo the one who previously said the songs are "cocaine fueled"? lol... "Drug" fueled. (and I still stand by that)

It's all good. The delay is not for lack of material. They have plenty of songs ready to go. They just don't feel any urgency to release the new CD yet as there's no real money i

Quotemasseywinos I like a lot of Pink Floyd but I honestly don't like The Wall for the most part. Guess that makes me weird. Agreed. I love Dark Side and Wish You but you couldn't pay me enough money to listen to The Wall. ( Never have .... Never will )

Quotekeefriff99 Kerry King, Scott Ian, Rob Halford, Wolf Hoffman, Chris Slade...there are plenty of rockers with shaved heads who look great. I'm 40 and have pretty much a full head of hair with only a couple of greys at the sideburns, so I can't judge how it feels to go bald. If I was balding, maybe I'd feel differently about rockers trying to turn back the clock. May as wel

><QuoteElmo Lewis QuoteBungo If they put those 2 songs together as a "Mash-Up" it would be fantastic performed live in concert. It would be cool if they would do some mash-ups or medleys nowadays just to make the shows more interesting. The shows nowadays are a bit too predictable for me. So would IYCRM and Get Off Of My Cloud.
