I watched last night's Grammy performance. They have MUCH bigger problems than an ailing drummer. I felt like I witnessed the end of a Band's career. What a train wreck. Made the Stones look positively polished.

Quotewonderboy The singing is bad, but it's the stage presence that is so awful -- he looks completely unprepared. The Spinal Tap backing band doesn't help. He still has a weird kind of charm, though. If he got a buttoned up band and practiced he could do a Tom Jones kind of show. Actually I thought the band was smokin' hot. The lead guitar sounds just like the records to my ea

Aw c'mon guys. He obviously was having some minor vocal problems from that ultra dry desert air plus "the nerves of first night". I'm sure he'll settle in after a few more shows and the right throat medication. And don't forget the IORR mantra: "you can't really tell anything from a YouTube clip, you really have to be there". I tell ya, If I'm in

QuoteChrisMahavishnu I saw a theatre show of his in 2018, he is very much worth seeing live if you get a chance. Both his voice and guitar playing are still top notch, his backing band consisted of a second lead electric guitarist, bass, keys, drums and additional percussionist, they were all good players. I went in as casual fan and left wanting to explore more of his music. I also ended up gett

Ever since I Heard Jose's haunting rendition of California Dreaming in the film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood I've become interested in seeing him live. Preferably in Las Vegas. So naturally I'm curious if anybody here has ever seen him perform. Is he still good? Does he perform solo or with a band? Does such a band have strings, horns or backup singers. Any insight or opinions wou

QuoteBluzDude I know most of you will disagree, but whether he plays a gangster, a good guy, in a comedy or drama, De Niro is a one trick pony, he plays the same person in just about every movie, no wonder he comes across as dumb as a stump on talk shows. You got That right. De Niro hasn,t "acted" in years. But then again most "movie stars" rarely "act". They just

Man, I must have watched Once Upon A Time In Hollywood at least 10 times. So many details to catch. The acting, the soundtrack, the wardrobes, the sets, the action sequences ...... there's just so much to see in each scene that you have to watch it several times to soak it all in. This is Tarantino's masterpiece. Anything he does after this will just be a footnote.

QuoteHairball Maybe We'll Make It....could be a song title...an aching country love song/ballad ...could even be a duet...along the lines of an old school George Jones/Tammy Wynette tune. Either Mick or Keith singing the lead in a country drawl...maybe with Alison Kraus accompanying...with some Ronnie pedal steel....I can hear it now....Maybe we'll make it?.... I like it! I vote

QuoteSpud Mick always has to be doing stuff, or planning the next stuff in his life... and when Stones activities don't fit neatly into his little windows he gets frustrated and fed up. ...and Keith just thinks he should be able to do whatever he wants when he feels like it. Never a recipe for harmony Yeah. It's a Bitch trying to get old musicians together in a studio and sp

That's okay Bungoeeeee Cult rock-writer Lester Bangs and guru to so many said that Exile was a load of shit when he first heard it …… Well, I Loved Exile the first time I heard it and still do. According to your logic I guess that affirms my credibility. And if that doesn't, you might want to check out last night's Golden Globes Awards , Once Upon A Time

I think The Irishman is Waaaaay over-rated. It doesn't come close to Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. It's Waaaaaay too long. This should have been a limited TV series or cut an hour out of it. You wouldn't even miss that hour and it would be a much more watchable film. I'm convinced that this was digitally shot so that they could use the de-aging program. Because of that

QuoteKRiffhard QuoteBungo I'm sure no one will believe this but I'm gonna lay it out there anyway : Last week I was sipping Tequila at the pool in Hotel California in Todos Santos Mexico when a chap sat down near me and with little else to do we started chatting. Long story short it turns out he is close to the recording process of the new Stones record (engineer or studio technician

Quotedaspyknows I saw Ginger 6 years ago. He was booked for 2 90 minute shows. I went to first show. Played 30 minutes, threatened to die on stage. Took a 20 minute break came back, finished the set while repeating threat. Recording from 2nd show was similar, How, exactly, does one threaten to die on stage? Just curious.

QuoteBoognish Quotekeefriff99 Did Buddy ever PRAISE any other drummers, especially anyone outside of jazz? That's the real question. Pentti "Whitey" Glan was a family friend (and my favourite drummer), he played with Lou Reed, Alice Cooper and a shit ton of others, and he once said that Buddy Rich complimented his drumming on one of his Tonight Show appearances. I LOVE Pennti Gl

I agree that this record is waaaaay over-rated. I blame Paul McCartney who has said he was bowled over by the "sound" of the record. I have to think that he was talking about the harmonies, multi-tracking etc. and not the songs per se. He's also said that after hearing Pet Sounds he knew The Beatles had to up their game with their next record which turned out to be Sgt. Pepper. Obv

I've loved Neil Young for years. Recently I have him on heavy rotation on my Pandora. What I've come to realize after listening to Neil for an extended period of time is that as often as he plays harmonica on his songs he is actually a TERRIBLE harmonica player. He only knows 3 or 4 notes on the harmonica and he plays them in pretty much the same way every time. If you listen to anyone
