This won't have any long lasting affect on Johnny's career. He just needs to pick better projects. In retrospect I think he could have saved himself a lot of money and aggravation by just letting that newspaper article slide. In a year nobody's gonna even remember any of this.

OK. I get it now. According to Wikipedia their first gig as "The Rolling Stones" (less Wyman and Watts) was July 1962. A grueling 10 months later they signed a record deal in May 1963. That's laughably fast. What new band nowadays is going to sign a record deal after only 10 months?

My 2 cents is this : Assume all autographs without concrete provenance/certificate of authenticity to be fake. Assume at least half of all autographs with provenance/certificate of authenticity to be fake. Unless you're there when they sign it and you have a photo of them signing it even a great provenance/certificate of authenticity is just a piece of paper. In my mind the most

It seems to me that The Stones had success incredibly early in their career. My question is, basically, how long after they formed did they get a recording contract? : When did The Stones form? When did they sign a recording contract?

Yeah, we've all been told in books and articles that the song "is about Angela Davis" even though she is never actually mentioned by name. I think even the Stones knew better. They have plausible deniability on this one if, indeed, they want that. I'm not sure if Mick or Keith ever came out and specifically said "yeah that song's definitely about Angela Davis".

Hard to imagine she's not still in prison for what she did. She got off easy. Only a university like University of California at Berkeley would let her be a tenured professor.

That's funny. Of course it's Keith. It's the world's easiest guitar solo to play. A monkey could play it. Hell, I can play it and I don't even know how to play guitar.

I never heard the Yoko thing before but I guess it could have happened that way. It was always my understanding that John was elsewhere and simply couldn't get there in time. Same with Paul I guess.

As someone posted, "this was very common back in the day". I agree. But, as long as the music's actually live and good I couldn't care less where it was recorded or what the title is.

QuoteHairball Leonardo "PumpkinHead" DiCaprio probably doesn't take kindly to being called names by a Disney Pirate. If they were to have a boxing match, my money's on Leo as Depp seems a bit too burned out to hold his own against a clear-minded DiCaprio. Plus, Leo's quite a bit younger than Old Man Depp, but he also seems to be a bit out of shape and pudgy compared to

Experiment by using different commands during burn. "Normalize" sounds like a reasonable place to start. If it doesn't work go on to the next possibility. Maybe use a re-recordable CD so you can use it over and over for these tests. Otherwise you'll go through a few CDs before you figure it out. When I used to burn my boots with different songs from different sources the progr

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteStoneage Thanks, Beast. It's not about money this time then. Honor, rather. Probably a bit more than that. As in, legally clearing his name for work. I disagree. He's suing the newspaper for libel. That's what this is about. If he wins I would think there may be a hefty punitive payment to Mr. Depp. After all, it is my understanding that his coffers are

I don't mind the pooping in the bed. After all, accidents happen. The real story is that his old financial managers made off with his entire $650,000,000 fortune and left him $100,000,000 in debt to the tax man. That's Gotta hurt! Ouch ! ! !
