Quotelatebloomer I've been feeling a bit sheepish that I've never watched Breaking Bad. But it's mainly because I don't need another weekly distraction and I hardly watch much TV anyhow. However, now that the show is using one of my favorite poems in a promo, I think I'll have to check it out...always late to the party, that's me. 'Bloomer, I can easi

Not a problem...yes Bill German is very entertaining ( met the man and he is one of a kind). I enjoyed your writing style and access to the inner circle in rock n roll....cheers!

Dean, I am a year older than you and loved your excerpt so much, I bought your book. I have only seen the Stones a mere 14 times when they came to NY starting in 89. You were probably at all my ny shows! I was also at Brooklyn last year and I agree with your assessment.

Quotedcba Imo DW and UC are at the opposite ends of the spectrum. From the demos/outtakes available to us thru bootlegs we can say UT started in a very sh!tty way : song ideas were scarce and poor the working versions are 100% boring (try listen to PBUp I) but the band managed to turn manure into a final product (=the album) that's listenable. For DW it was the opposite : lots of songs i

Quoteifyacantrockme Overall I think this is a pretty good live album. My only and one complaint (Stones fans are so hard on their band aren't they?) is Emotional Rescue. I listened to the studio version. I think they need to play the arrangement closer to the studio version than what they did. The 'oo-oo' part is way too long. The band seemingly vamps on one chord forever

Hey, I never thought the Stones used hidden musicians but as I was watching Live at the Max on AXSTV, you can clearly see someone playing keyboards during YCAGWYW. Mick starts down the right side of the stage and the bright spot light clearly shows the hidden player behind the black mesh. They already have Chuck And Matt Clifford on keyboards already?!.

QuoteMarhsall I'm as big a fan as anyone here on this board for yrs! & I don't see why everyone is saying that 'Love In Vain' HAS to be played...it's now or never! WHY? I get the whole Hyde Park anniversary etc...but it's not going to ruin it for me if they don't play this one song. It's been done & besides IF, and that's a

Quotebeachbreak U2 is a great live band. Springsteen too. Love both of them to death. One thing is for sure, the young people in the audience must be shell-shocked. They witnessed a combo of power and energy that is other worldly. Shock and Awe baby!

Quotesonomastone QuoteBig Al Quote24FPS Let It Bleed and Exile were obviously Keith's peaks. He appears to have tired of that much work afterward. Isn't Beggars basically all him on guitar, too, with a minimal input from Brian? Someone like His Majesty knows more, but as far as I am aware, Brian Jones contributes the following to Beggars Banquet:- No Expectations - slide guitar De

Quotelaertisflash Sometimes i gather that, if some fans were in the mood for analyzing every single note and every single moment with such a "severity", from the beginning of Stones career, then they would rate even 1972-73 performances as "mediocre"... agreed!

This will be one of their best guest performances. A clear sep in the right direction, IMHO.

Quoteandrewt Quotepalerider22 Quotegotdablouse QuoteDandelionPowderman Not too good, imo. Keith starts it way too slow, and Taylor is not doing a good solo... Not as good as in LA but better than in CHI/3 I'd say, he was maybe a tad loud though, they really can't seem to get his sound right! Not sure if he was on the Rythm or Treble position this time, LA/2 was Rythm and it sounde

Quotetreaclefingers Quoterollingon QuoteBritney Quotekowalski The video everyone was waiting for... Fantastic! Great to see a new generation of rockstars taking over the torch the Stones have carried for so long. Taylor looked awesome and delivered a decent vocal performance. Well, it's really obvious why Jagger chose Taylor Swift and As Tears Go By, she reminds me somehow of a young

Quotepmk251 QuoteWuudy It's fun to watch Jagger. It seems like he is really uncomfortable with this long solo. It looks like he keeps making gestures that Taylor should get on with it. I do not see that at all. To repost something I posted on another thread:....Taylor is the loose cannon on this tour and you get the feeling that you are discovering a performance at the same time the band

Wuudy, Mick is really getting into the solo. He must be realizing what he has been missing in the live version of this song and its wonderful solo by Mick T. You can see him say to Taylor @ 6:52, "go!...Play!"

Quotepaulywaul QuoteMunichhilton Quoteduke richardson please watch Mick and Keith during Taylor's solo in 'Knockin' at 7.09 - it'll warm your heart..pure Stones That looks to me like Jagger wants Taylor to wrap it up and having failed that he's looking at Keith as if to say "Do something"...[/quote] Yes, that's exactly what it looks like, I completel

Crumbling_Mice I agree with Taylor playing on the original but it is Keith that has always played the solo on Bitch. It could have been a great trade off to having them both exchange licks. Bottom line is that he is there being wasted in the wings...
