Quotedcba Quoteshortfatfanny Welcome to the Taylor bashing patrol. Bashing? I called him an exceptional embellisher. Where's the bashing? MT cannot write a memorable tune to save his life (unless you think "Twisted Sister" is as good as a Stones song) that's fact not bashing. And you could ask yourself one thing : if Taylor brought everything that was good in the

Quoteboogaloojef What A joke. There is no comparison. The quality is worse on Sticky Fingers Live both compared to the studio versions of the songs and the live versions from 1971-73 and it is not even close.

Ry Cooder did some great things for the Stones. Played good on LIB, excellent on Memo from Turner and Sister Morphine. And he inspired Keith, to say the least.

QuoteDandelionPowderman Since it hasn't been mentioned here I'll highlight one great song penned by Taylor: Never Fall In Love Again. That's good writing That's a good song indeed. However, Taylor's forte was not songwriting, but playing Blues and Rock.

QuoteHMS QuoteDonParker It's a mild form of mental sadistic personality disorder. He uses Taylor now, but it could be anybody really. Yes, it´s Taylor playing on some of their greatest albums but it could be anybody really. IMO,any skillful player could have been doing the job and would be worshipped today. It´s the Jagger/Richards-combination that created the early-70s masterpieces. Tay

QuoteWitness QuoteHMS Just listen to Black And Blue. Wayne Perkins & Harvey Mandel let you forget completely the absence of MT. He was just a guitar player who was lucky to be with the Stones at their artistic peak. His influence or significance is minimal, imo. Brian Jones was very important and unique for their sound and image, MT wasnt. If Harvey Mandel would have been with the Stones in 1

QuoteFP Quotemtaylor QuoteFP QuoteDonParker QuoteFP Can someone tell me if Mick Taylor is playing the slide on this version of Lovin Cup? When was this recorded, at Nellcote or earlier? video: If that's Taylor on slide I'm fan-off. It feels more like Richards to me but not 100% sure! But this credit list is for the released cut, is it the same for the unreleased one I pos

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quoteouroux58 QuoteDandelionPowderman It's a very nice live album. Mick sings better than in 71-73 and some songs (BS, IGTB and SM) are on par with the magical studio versions. It's better to be blind than reading this bullshit. Better than in 71-73... and better that Get yer... OK I think the Stones started in 2002 for you! Who are you? It's not me.

QuoteHMS Even in the seventies it would have been impressive. One of their best live albums and yet it is not available physically. Very confusing. They play the songs so wonderful that it is very easy to forget that there ever was a Mick Taylor with the band. Like I always say, they dont need him. The SF-songs work very fine without him. Cheers to Ronnie and of course Mick whose vocals are a

39, played on the 12 string and sung by Brian May is one of my favourite Queen songs. Never been a big fan. Having said that I think it was easier for Queen to sound like the Stones than the other way around: A bottle of whisky does the trick.

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteStoneage It is clarified now that the terrorist, Mohamed, was recruited by ISIS two weeks before the attack. Not confirmed. Supposedly, he lied about having ISIL connections at work to gain more respect. Didn't this man have serious psychiatric issues for years already, just like the lunatic Breivik? There's a thin line between terrorists and (violent)

QuoteCome On In my opinion ' Tumbling Dice ' is a miserable middle of the road song and Mick Jagger as lead guitarist full on par with ' The Eagle ' as a ski jumper. A statement well worth putting your teeth in yes? Not my favourite either. Even the live versions with Taylor are boring. They should have skipped 33%. It just goes on too long.

Actually, that's what I do, too. Whenever I thought too much in scales and fret positions, my playing began to sound a bit static for my own taste. That's when I started to rely more o

QuoteTravelinMan I'm just wondering what he was doing playing a pentatonic based off a major 7th, wouldn't that be Locrian mode? Which song does he do that on? A Cmaj7 (example) contains the tone B. So sometimes Taylor would play a Bmin pent over a Cmaj7. This creates a jazzy and nice melodic Cmaj7/9/#11. There are quite a few (live) outtakes performed by Taylor over the years were he

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteFP I was interested to know if there are examples of Mick Taylor using modes in his solos or more exotic scales such as Harmonic and Melodic Minor? From the studio recordings he seems to stick to blues scales and natural minor but I wondered if there are any live shows that feature the more uncommon scales/modes mentioned above?
