Wow, that's even better than my experience, I was there at noon, so no band, no MJ. I remember seeing you there in the lineup though. Way to go!

Quoteonlystones Based upon the info I've on IORR, it has been hinted by a few people, including BV, that says Fonda '15 is "supposed" to be released soon after the show. Strictly conjecture, but that is how I interpret what is being said. It will not be a part of the deluxe SF release, because the album is already pressed. I actually held a copy of it when I was filmed for

QuoteNaturalust Quotegotdablouse Good for you and a great read ! Looks like you were quick on the draw, your neighbours must have been stunned but someone had to get that extra ticket. From the RS review : QuoteThe last Stones road trip included a guest spot for former guitarist Mick Taylor. His absence is particularly conspicuous considering the prominent role he played on Sticky Fingers, but

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotefunky415 I flew down from San Francisco on Tuesday morning hoping to score a miracle ticket to see the Rolling Stones play at the Fonda Theatre. After spending Tuesday evening with a good friend and Stones insider it became very clear that this was more of a private party and that if any tickets were released they would be next to impossible to score. I was determin

QuoteJumpinJeppeFlash Quotebv There were 30 or so models let in first. Nice girls and a few gals. The usual LA thing. Then the online sales people with yellow wristbands. Around 80. And yes, to hear of them locked out while hired models and A-listers who don't give a damn get into the show leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Mick & Company were filming and didn't want some mangey 'real Stones fans' dudes up front and center. They wanted some

QuoteStoneburst QuotebvForget about the celebrities list. There will always be celebrities like presidents, kings, queens, mayors, Jack Nicholson (he is a great fan by the way) and so on. Let them drive their fine cars and sit on their balconies. They bring TV stations and they bring publicity so any band in the industry would love to have those in the crowd. And they don't take up space. Th

Things don't go wrong, they just sometimes don't work the way we want. I got chosen and I'll never know why. They said they liked my story. I gave my cell #. I don't know why. They told me that they were disappointed that more didn't respond. Maybe their email crashed? Who knows? It was very last minute. If I had never got in, I would have just wished I had, noth

I'm going to agree with you BV. I was at rehearsals at 3rd Encore when nobody was there. I got the info because of a friend who does some work there, and I sometimes rent studios myself. I could have even rented the adjacent studio, but for what? To ruin some band's privacy? I was told posting the location was frowned upon by you so I kept it to myself. As far as fans getting in,

Quotejigsawjones This was the way in. I was told it was for a DVD. Lots of folks here seem to be vilifying those who were able to attend, but many of the people I talked to at the show had been interviewed and did indeed have great, heartfelt stories to share from their personal lives. Writing from the heart and a willingness to go on-camera as a Stones champion were the surest ways to get in as

Quotecrawdaddy After all that has happened in the last 3 days, they have pulled off a great publicity stunt for sales of SF, and sales of gig tix. The Fonda gig , and everything that went with it,was a business venture that will probably pay off very well by the end of July. That's one way to look at it... Another is that they are giving people what they want, that they love playing

Oh, and one of the other highlights of the show is when MJ announced a tribute to BB King and played Rock Me Baby. I've played this myself a hundred times at gigs and the band usually nails it, but watching The Stones play it was something else. They really nailed it!

OK, so some of you commented wanting to hear some sort of "review" of the show. I'm sure it's been already dissected by "critics", but hey, reviews are just one person's opinion anyway.... I got my pair of tkts and wristband early in the day, went home, relaxed, got there around 5p, even though we were told no lineups until 5:30. The 40 or so assembled were

QuoteNikkei Quotealieb QuoteNikkei I take the word "insider" with a big grain of salt these days. There are clearly people who try to appear close to the organization, but based on what they post it seems more about getting attention. I think (and roller99 can correct me if I'm wrong) that he works in the industry, as (probably) do a lot of fans living around the LA area. But ob
