QuoteUNCSTONE I’m not at liberty to say who but a reliable friend of mine is friends with a member of the band (not Mick/Keith/Ronnie). He said that what the member said is that they will not be back in the USA this year or anytime soon…that touring is tiring to them at this point. Not what I wanted to hear AT ALL! They are old men. They are not playing more than one string of dates a year.

QuoteNilsHolgersson Actually I think the only difference between the current Rolling Stones and a Mick Jagger solo tour is the fact that Keith Richards is in it Ronnie’s guitar playing is distinct but I know what you mean. The loss of Charlie meant the loss of the distinct beat that is the Stones. While Steve Jordan is a great player, sadly, nobody can replicate Charlie’s sound.

QuoteMelBelli The small-medium-large concept was a great compensation for the lack of a new album. I deeply regret not seeing an arena or theater show on that tour. DC only got a stadium show, and I didn’t have the means or time to travel elsewhere at the time. Looking back, it was the beginning of a gradual decline for Keith. Those botched “Brown Sugar” intros became a thing on that tour.

QuoteRik setlists were great, soundwise it was sometimes so-so, lots of Chuck and BV's high in the mix, muddy guitars. They really changed that in the first leg of the ABB tour. Agree with this. First tour I saw was 40 Licks (I'm 34) and the sound quality was awful. I enjoyed the show despite the poor sound quality. When I saw ABB on the 1st leg, the sound quality was state o

QuoteHairball ...the vote winner not surprising, and Ain't Too Proud to Beg was a bit sluggish/anticlimactic...under-rehearsed... Surely Midnight Rambler will be a highlight as always. I feel like the horns have the energy throughout, but Steve has had to slow down to keep better pace with the rest of the band. You can hear it for example comparing Rocks Off in LA vs. Rocks Off in Las

Quoteguyrachel Hi, how bad will limited view be in 116 & 117? I am bringing my 8.5 year old son from New York, and I want both my wife and him to enjoy it, will the “limited view seating” be a useless experience? I thought that this head on position, short of being close, would be very exciting and satisfying…, But would really welcome all advice and help…! I don’t think it would be a

Quotepodiumboy So here’s the problem I have. I want to go to the Detroit show. I live about 3 hours away in Ohio, and I’m pretty sure this is the last time (?) the Stones will be playing near me. I had tickets for Cleveland, but that didn’t work out. I would like to take my 10 year old son with me, as paint it black is his favorite song. Also, how many people in his generation will be able t

Is it just me or does Memory Motel and Fool to Cry sound awfully similar in the beginning? My first thought when Fool to Cry started was that it was Memory Motel initially. Anyone else get these two songs' intros confused?

Quotespikenyc Multi year tour? Seriously? Mick and Keith will both be 80 yrs old in 2 years. Its a nice thought but i dont see it happening. Especially since Charlie is gone. They finish this US tour then a final tour next summer in Europe is more likely. I don't think they will stop until either Mick or Keith can no longer do it, which could be at any time as you note with the age.

QuoteHairball QuoteIrix QuoteStonesFan35 So, will Hard Rock Hollywood FL Nov 23rd be the final Rolling Stones show ever? No. See: - (last paragraph). Just speculating, but that leaves the door open for the possibility of more US shows next year before touring Europe - there's lots more money to be made in the US, and maybe even Canada will get a couple of shows... And this might

Quotegeorgemcdonnell314 I think as Charlie got older he could not keep up with the songs with a faster tempo which is why some songs were done slower. Steve Jordan on the other hand is younger and can probably still carry a faster beat. Just my observation but it sure makes good sense to me. I'd agree with this. Seems to me that Charlie and Keith slowed things down quite a bit on th

Quotedaspyknows If the LA shows were reversed they could pull a few special nuggets in the first one to boost sales in the second. Let's see if that happens. Personally I think the first one will be the show to be at because it will be half empty. Yep, they really seem to take a "we'll show you what you missed" approach on those types of nights! As examples from the pas

Quoteangee On the set list, do you suppose they will do "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" any time this tour? Hoping for a few surprises for 10/17. No I don’t think we’ll see much incremental non ballads. I suspect based on Nashville sound check that the Stones break out Rocks Off in LA for one of the nights. Beyond that, I’d imagine some mix of the usual suspects changing betwe

It’s be nice to see a compiled list of all the different songs that have been up for selection. Is there one somewhere? I would bet that it ends up being Sweet Virginia, as hasn't been played yet and wasn't played last time, where Wild Horses, Far Away Eyes, and Dead Flowers were. For context, Let it Bleed was playing in Charlotte while Shine a Light was a choice for the vote and played last time.

Quotebengigan I faintly hear Let It Bleed being soundchecked That was going to be my guess for the selection. Seems this tour will play it likely as safe as possible in the circumstances. With Shine a Light being played last time they played Charlotte and Far Away Eyes requiring subdued drumming, felt like Sweet Virginia and Let It Bleed were only realistic choices.

Surprised to see Wild Horses and Angie offered up as Song Votes as both would be logical for opening night acoustic set songs. Almost wonder if they may walk down to the stage for their tribute to Charlie and/or speech in lie

QuoteCamRS I think the band will sound great to the large majority of concert goers attending the shows. The small, vocal minority on this site who hate what they hear can continue to pontificate on how The Rolling Stones’ 60 year legacy is now tarnished because they continue on. In the end, their opinion doesn’t really matter as much as they think it does. The band’s legacy was cemented a lon
