I believe it's been played 3 times on this tour: 1) The opener in St. Louis - Plan A: Out comes Keith with the acoustic 10 string. 2) L.A. - The case of the missing guitar - The acoustic isn't ready to go, so Keith goes to Plan B and grabs one of his 5 string telecasters. The song comes off great, as if that's how it was always supposed to be. 3) Detroit - No mess up this

OK, we've heard Paul McCartney and Roger Daltrey dump on the Stones recently. I love this band (don't we all), and I love going to the shows (ditto). There has been some criticism of the virtuosity of the playing. Sure. But if you want to see virtuoso guitar playing, go see Joe Bonamassa or Tommy Emmanuel. They do good shows and play circles around Richards and Wood. But that's

QuoteRocktiludrop How was Keith last night ? Great in the beginning, very strong on SFM (as usual) and all the way through his 2. Real good on Connection. Very soulful Slipping Away. But honestly, he seemed rattled or pissed after the mixup on MR. He had a couple of obvious mistakes after that. Seemed a bit off his game toward the end.

Just got back. Had good spot in Pit 1 about 6 people off the catwalk and halfway back. A fantastic spot to take in everything. The short version is that Jagger is on top of his game. Videos just dont do him justice. His energy and charisma are ridiculous. And I'll be interested to hear what others have to say about the last part of MR. Looked like Mick wasn't in on the cue for the w

For me, the best spot is near the back rail just far enough from the catwalk to be able to see the other side of the stage. Mick, Keith and Ronnie come out on the catwalk often, and you have a great view of the b-stage. If you get there by 6:30, you'll have no problem getting there.

Quotewaterrats ...And then came, what's the Stones is about: Some unexpected trouble happens, some improvising is needed - and The Stones are double-fresh and running on all intuitive cylinders... Exactly! I loved it!! From this semi-awkward situation, we ended up with a special version of WH.

I'm not an insider, nor am I part of their crew, but here's a tiny bit of insight. In actuality, it's not a 12 string. It's a custom 10 string Guild. You can see it in the St. Louis videos. The guitar players among you know that Keith plays WH in his five string, open G tuning. So a "12 string" version of that actually has 10 strings. We all know that the Stones h

QuoteCooltoplady Keith isn’t playing any differently than he was 2 years ago. Cut it out I don't think the difference is so much in his playing as it is in his attitude. He seems to be more engaged this time around. Much more time out on the catwalk. Much more engagement with Mick. You can also hear this in his remarks. Sure, he always makes his remark that it's good to be anywhe

Quotedaspyknows For those who want to hear LA2 here is an untracked high bitrate mp3 to stream to your phone or puter while I track the set. Recorded using Schoeps MK41 mics in the front of section B3 just a few seats off dead center. Please do not download this, remaster, matrix or sell this. I know that is a difficult request for some to follow. Wow! Thank you. Thank you! Thank you!!!

Just got back to our hotel. I've been to about 30 Rolling Stones shows. This one was right at the top. L.A. Sunday Night. Wow.

Seemed like mostly decent seats for 10/14 LDs. I spoke to many people in the lower section wearing LD wristbands. Heard about some second tier too. Congrats to those who scored the "Golden Tickets" but from what I heard, most LDs were in the 100s or 200s. Didn't hear about any nosebleeds.

I'm totally intrigued to see what they do with the show on the 14th. It is amazingly undersold. Outside of the center floor sections, it looks like about 10% of the tickets have been sold. I guess they could cancel it, but I doubt it. As great as it would be, I doubt they move it to the Forum. They could make an offer to people holding tix for the 17th to upgrade for the 14th. (Do

Guess I'm double dippin' the L.A. shows. Crossing my fingers for that moment when they open those envelopes. Seemed like pretty easy dippin' this morning relative to prior shows. Hopefully this show starts to sell well so that there aren't thousands of dippers hoping for those Golden Ticket pit tix. Haven't hit the jackpot yet. Maybe one of these shows. We'll

Just one more from me. My first show was in 1969. My last show was Glendale (Phoenix) in 2019. Fifty years of my life with The Rolling Stones. And always, always, it was "Charlie Watts on drums." I didn't take a camera with me in 1969, but I never made that mistake again. The shot on the left is from 1972 at the Forum in L.A. The one on the right is from Glendale.

I'm just stunned. It had to happen some day. It's over. A sub for one tour is one thing. But this is something entirely different. R.I.P. Charlie. A class act to the very end.

Weird that they have a sold out icon for LV LDs now, but the link for LA still works. But no luck for quite a while. On the TM event link, it's been saying sold out...

Quotevibrolux QuoteTooTight SATISFACTION presale is noon local time. So a half hour from now for Vegas and LA. What's weird is that they haven't taken down yesterday's presale that was supposed to be over at 10AM local time. I suspect they'll do it very soon and set up the waiting room and the every-popular 2000+ queue. Well that was fun. Got in in less than 4 minutes

Bummed that they cancelled S.D. I had LDs for that show. It sure would be nice if they let people with S.D LDs have an opportunity to get LDs for L.A. before we have to compete for them. Crossing my fingers.

I just happened to look at my credit card activity yesterday and I saw that Ticketmaster had refunded my San Diego Lucky Dips. I didn't request this. They just did it. I don't recall a formal cancellation notification. Until now, I thought they had left it all as delayed pending new dates. Obviously Covid isn't going away soon, but I guess someone decided to change "del

I know I shot 2 or 3 rolls. I was able to do a pretty quick reload. I definitely went to see the show. But at various times, I'd shoot several shots, then return to being there. Looking back, I guess I had pretty balanced priorities for an 18 year old.

QuoteRockman Let's have a look at ya ....... Well, you can see my friend with the glasses and the shiny shirt right between that guy and the girl. And a sliver of my head next to him closer to Keith. Here's the pic we took right before we left for the show. I'm the guy on the right with the very uncool hair.

QuoteDbs1972 Another crowd shot... {/IMG} Wow. I think you found me, or at least part of me. There are four people right in front of the stage, just to the right of Keith. I'm just behind the guy closest to Keith. You really can't see much of me, but I totally recognize the guy I went with next to me. He's right between that same guy and the girl next to him. I'm pret

QuoteDbs1972 I was wondering if you've ever seen yourself in any crowd shots from that show...? Ive seen several which feature the first few rows. I've been hunting for these forever. It's kind of my holy grail. I know it's gotta be out there. Can you direct me to the ones you're referring to?
