Sting and Paul Simon were here in Auckland a while back. Wanted to see Simon, couldn't handle dealing with sting. Feel the same way about this, have always though Gabriel live to be an experience and his music a challange...but to have to sit through the boredom that is Sting, and that is even without any of his PC preaching.

LOL @ what Svartmer says. Considering how much of Mr. Young's product is proto grunge, you have to wonder how elaborate a set up you need. And that "fine" TRANS album, one would think he would want that heard digitally >< I streamed the White Album through my laptop, hooked up via bluetooth to my wireless speakers the other day. For what it's worth . sounded OK to me

It's going to be a blast ! And though Paul's list of names is no suprise to me, actually seeing it all in print makes it all that much more exciting. I was late on the decision to do this, denied that I would until a few weeks back, but can hardly wait to start it all over again! Onward, to South America and beyond!!

Well I am going to all 3 shows, and my concern also is getting back rather than to the shows. I know exactly where Rcfoxy and at least 4 other people on this board are staying in Recoleta. I don't think any of us would mind throwing in for a bus or van or whatever, its just the logistics, If you are GA, I am sure you want to get there very early, where as seated people don't need to get

Gaetzi I have had to use both Viagogo and Stubhub in the past to obtain tickets for events. Both have worked without a hitch. I have nothing other than gut level emotion to base this on, but I prefer stubhub.

I am really looking foreward to seeing her next month at the Beacon Theater celebrating the 4oTH anniversary of Horses. Doubly sentimental since it will be my first time at the Beacon since the Stones were their for the Clinton Birthday show!

The sad truth is that over long term even morphine is less destructive to the body than alcohol is . The dangers of narcotic pain releivers are in their seductive quality and their much quicker addictive potential as compared to alcohol. The reputation that they have is largely based on the laws that govern their distribution and the public's perception. There are a huge number of people in

Hairball, my understanding , and I may be misinformed, is that her involvemnt with the alligator poster was bascially pasting the tongue onto someone else's art work. In no way am I saying any of these young people are saints, making wise decisions, or any of that. All I am trying to say is that they are a product of their environment. If they decide to say "screw it" to the tra

Char is at least a nice young lady. Whenever she has chosen to speak to me she has been pleasant, and whenever I have seen her and she does not come over I have respected her privacy. I have also had the pleasure of meeting Theo, Jade, Leah all of whom have been very polite ( and one who I shall not name can keep up with anyone I know standing at the bar lol). It is easy to stand on the outsi

Hey GasLightStreet, I enjoy your question: So does that mean one is wrong for liking something that sucks? Going way off topic and tossing ant sense of propriety to the wind, as an aging single man once quite randy in his youth, I have to ask how "it/he/she sucks" has developed such a bad reputation? OK back to the Stones people, sorry for the trasnsgression...

Good Words Shadooby ! When you say, "Hey man, wake up every day and be glad in it. The older I get, the more I try my best to live by these words." I agree. " The Times They Are a-Changing" I remember being in my late teens and some times not going home all week end. I remember being in my late twenties in a quiet house with two or three others "Waiting on My Man,"

And tassles, no dear those are waiting for you, that is an envelope of cash to try and keep up with Rockman at the bar I think hahhhahhah.

Ahhhh keefriffhards , I do not doubt what you say, but the question for most of us is not whether we could stop drinking if we want, to be honest , a lot of us do not care LOL. The real questions is can you or any of us stop posting when we want. Should we start and IORR 12 step program? ><

I just posted this on a thread about U2. Now it might be self indulgent , but afterwards I did think maybe it should be a thread of it's own. Well Lem, earlier someone said that U2 had not put out anything worthwhile in eons. Of course when you read it here, the last decent Stones album was Tatto You, a combination of songs all older than 35 years . Springsteen sucks, Dylan is over rate

Of course when you read it here, the last decent Stones album was Tatto You, a combination of songs all older than 35 years . Springsteen sucks, Dylan is over rated, Patti smith is pretentious and self indulgent, the Dead are boring, the Beatles over rated, and on and on. We have apparently become a group of curm

It is just after 10:30 PM, 26 July in Indiana. On this date 40 years ago in Bloomington Indiana, Mick celebrated his birthday and I saw my first Stones show. Four Decades and 4 continents later, I am hoping for South America next February to increase the geographic count to 5. Happy Birthday Mick. Happy Anniversary. It's a gas gas gas!

Lou Reed is gone. Fleetwood Mac can still surprise. Patti Smith is a force of nature and should not be missed. To top it ff she is at the Filmore West this year on New Year'e Eve, it should be like a rock and roll pilgremage.

I have read this board longer then I can remember and been a member for over 11 years. It has been a source of information and connections that is priceless. Through this board I have met a wide selection of people that have in turn introduced me to others. They have enriched my life with everything from an pre show drink and laugh to tickets I would not have had. Because of this board I have met
